As an Engineering School drop-out, can confirm they are taught to be superior. It's wrapped in tongue-and-cheek stuff, but it's constant and takes root.
I had gone a few shows with out a laugh at any side comments until the Incel reference to Zuckerberg. Went from silence to a whip of laughter. Who ever these two girls are they work better than the single cohosts I’ve heard
Salesforce CEO will be spared in the inevitable class war that shall see most other billionaires hunted down like the sport that they are. SALEFORCE FRIEND, NOT FOOD 😂❤
Okay, "Vice" definitely didn't seem like it was trying to make Dick Cheney look "cool." Similarly, while "The Social Network" is a dumb movie in many ways that aged poorly and was extremely sexist, I don't think it makes Zuckerberg look "cool," although it's less clear whether that was Fincher's intention or not. He definitely comes off like an asshole for most of the movie, although he's also portrayed a bit too sympathetic at times (he's also the film's POV character, which was a mistake; one "Vice" does not make to the same extent*). I think it's worth questioning whether people being bad at media literacy and finding a clearly evil character sympathetic is really the filmmaker's fault. Anyway, Jamie and Maggie can hate on Fincher and "The Social Network" all they want and I'll probably agree with them, but leave "Vice" and Adam McKay out of it. (*Matt Damon is cringe rn and it's justified, but his character being featured and acting as the omniscient narrator is a really good touch.)
Once you finish the frito-lay corporation off and swallow every drop of that sweet 84 hour work week without breaks nectar, maybe consider criticizing people, not characteristics they can’t control. I’m not saying don’t criticize, but the ableism cracks about what are typical characteristics of autism, and that those =/= incel? Do you maybe think that could be potentially harmful in any way? Maybe perpetuating a stereotype a little?
Growing up with a swimming pool (which for all we know was a shitty above ground pool) does not equate to the kind of insanely rich 1% billionaire that she is condemning
If you legitimately think having a pool and not needing a million dollars are even remotely equivalent... i cannot imagine what your life is like. A lot of very middle-class families have pools. Most don't go to private school, get guaranteed an ivy league education, and ruin democracies. Well, maybe most do in a way ruin democracies a bit, but still.
@@origami_dream Home pools are bougie for sure... and you can't imagine what my life must be like? Well, fooking pool-less for starters, like most humans born in this country.
@@LonelyKnightess Yeah, for sure a hole with water in it is an accurate reflection of what having a home pool costs for purchase, install, and yearly maintenance. Take your straw man elsewhere. 💨
Here's a fun Dorito fact: Doritos were invented at Disneyland.
zuck is a vampire but i am still pulling for him to take down alt right loser musk
Its an alien vs predator situation. No matter who wins - We lose
I can't believe someone with the money of Mark Zuckerberg can't find someone to give him the means to grow a thick, luxurious beard.
That Tolkien quote is awesome.
Somewhat disconcerting that there are so many, many episodes on so many, many of our current rogues gallery of bastards...
Vagenis the Menace would be the perfect wrestler name.
Yeah, given the facebook papers that came out later, I'm not at all favorably disposed to the company as a whole

"like a teenage Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible" so Tom Cruise in Risky Business:)
On the fucking side of college, I was in music school. I feel like that's self explanatory 😅

That (so far) hits different in 2024

there has to be an astrology episode, right? that has to be someone's fault.
Meanwhile, Elon Musk is determined to take this title.
Hey man, I know at least one well-adjusted Harvard grad from that time
Elon Musk had entered the chat.

That was a painfully childish episode 💀

"I made friends by inviting them to my pool" also "I hate rich people" 🙄
