Donkeys are equines. They are such sweethearts. They can be ornery too and stubborn. Be careful until you know her because body language says she’s a bit moody. I had a Jenny that watched the children when they were young. We had dogs too but she was the one that protected the children and she was really good at it. So gentle and kind with them - but don’t let anything mess with them or get too near. Funny because she’d run in the yard with them. We had 32 head of horses and some of them were just too rambunctious- lol. She used to start braying as soon as she’d see us in the morning or coming home from an outing. Love Love Love Donkeys, Mules, Jacks, Hinnys, Jenny’s and Burros. Had lots of fun with you guys and your animals. Love how versatile your farm is. Lee-Ske is a good boy. You have a farm of guardians. Geese are some of the best too! Hugs and Big Thanx! 🤗🤗🤗 ~Becka
Etta wasn't being shy, she was giving a warning. Ears back, tail swish means back off and if pressured, she may kick or bite, she does need to learn manners. Yes they are equines😊 ❤❤
Look up giving grains to donkeys, it's not good for them and if you do feed it to them it should be as a treat. They eat alot of hay and grasses and weeds similar to goats. They sure are adorable 😊
Donkeys make great livestock guardians as well. They're amazing. Just be careful not to overfeed them bc they're backs of neck will get fat and collapse. Donkeys will eat and eat if you let them.
YES RACHEL, THE SMELL OF A HORSE IS SO GOOD. THE SWEAT,URINE,AND HORSE ALL WORK TOGETHER TO MAKE A COMFORTING AROMA. YOU HAVE TO BE A HORSE PERSON TO UNDERSTAND US.GO RACHEL, LOVE THOSE MINIS UP.❤❤❤❤❤❤
Be careful on how much grain you feed the donkeys. They eat hay and grass. They can get sick if you feed them too much grain. They actually should not get any grain or maybe just a cup to share.
Cute it's like hi my name is Nancy, this is my sister Nancy & my other sister Nancy! Lol. The donkeys are so cute I'm so happy for you! Good to see you Rachel 👋 I'm excited to see get them leash trained & possibly let them follow you around😉 Hi Kevin I enjoyed your video, DJ & Daniel @AFH have the mini donkies also. And they are awesome girls! Good job Lyskee on your catch 👍 Take care & God Bless you all!! See you next video 🙏🤗😉💞🇺🇸 🍁💛🧡🍂 happy fall
From what the Cog Hill farm has found out about them....mini donkeys like to be outside and not in barns. Once they get old enough they will get protective of their area and their friends. They can make great watch dogs too!
I love the donkey additions! You guys are awesome the way you watch over the “newbie’s” on the farm💖 I have learned, and you can look it up, the donkeys don’t need that much grain. They will get too fat. You give them maybe a half a cup of grain each. Hay and grass and a few treats. Love you guys!
Oh my gosh, Etta and Coco are adorable. There is something so special about mini donkeys. I'm sure you've seen Jessie on Brooke and Jason's Cog Hill Farm. They got her from DJ and Daniel on Arms Family Homestead and she is a cuddle-bug. So funny! I have no doubt with some confidence building and attention (and treats), Etta and Coco will be eating out of the palm of your hand (literally) in no time. Donkeys typically do want to bond with their people, like horses. They will be nervous at first, but once they've seen it all and have explored, they come around. Lots of praise, handling, etc. and they'll do well. The sooner you can get a halter on them, the better. Then the next stage is to start brushing them. Set them up with a bowl of feed (even hay with some feed sprinkled on) and they'll be your best friends very soon. They like the attention, but need to get use to everyone at their own pace. Once they are used to you, you will LOVE watching them get the zoomies, etc. It's hilarious and adorable at in one package. They're cute as can be. Will you eventually add other animals in with them or will they always be separated by themselves? Heather🇨🇦
Kevin and Rachel I love Miniature Donkeys they are adorable! But Donkeys are amazing they have great personalities and bond with their owners. So many videos of donkeys showing there great demeanor
Pray for the Eddy family they lost thier new donkey giving birth. Both the mama and baby past. So have them in your prays they only had Reba a few days❤😢
Wow! Good dog, Leeske, varmint-slayer!! Today’s vlog was so good: cool boots, the “My-Little-Pony-Donkeys,” your abundance of eggs, funny Yoshi squatting down with the geese, the Nancys and all the rest of the Hidden Heights critters!
Rachel, I know exactly how you feel about horses. I grew up with them and especially loved the smell. Just being around them was relaxing. I’m happy you have your new horse substitutes. Wishing good luck to you and your family with your donkeys.
Great video Kevin and Rachael lovely to see you to Rachael. Love the new additions ETA and Coco. They are adorable and can see them fitting right in. Glad Marie is helping you find an emu. Hope you find one when the time is right. Mini donkeys are becoming quite popular now lots of channels have recently got miniature ones too. I like the miniature ones and these two seem so friendly as they have only been with you a few day. Well done Leeski for protecting the farm. Have a great day take care and God Bless. 💕🙏
Great to see Rachel and you working together. Was raised with horses and agree with Rachel that there's nothing that smells better than the smell of horses. Leeske did a great job getting that raccoon. Where's there one, there's more. Something that farmers and ranchers aren't fond of. Could keep the dogs busy tonight. LOVE YOUR POSTS!!

Donkeys are an asset. I believe they earn their feed by working nights protecting everyone. Plus they are super cute and entertaining. When they run those short legs are so funny. And those ears !!! ❤ melted.
Rachel, I have seen several Great Pyrenees on RUclips lately and none of them, not one, has been taken care of as well as Mojo. My first instinct is to say “you should go to Hidden Heights Farms channel to see how to take care of these dogs!”. But then I remember I don’t want to offend anyone! I just wanted to make sure you know I have so much respect for you and the way you do things. 👍🏻
I completely agree with you about the Great Pyrenees. They really have set a standard in my personal opinion. When you see someone know the breed so well an take such good care of one it’s hard not to compare others to them. They really do take wonderful care of Mojo!
Your new mini donkeys are A'Adorable"!! Just an FYI for ya, A cup of grain for both of them is plenty & should be given as a treat. You will make them weigh over weight in a short period of time with all that grain & it's not good for them. Grass & hay is plenty for donkeys. be very careful with the grain intake. Isn’t it early in the day for a raccoon to be out and about. In Ohio if they are out in daylight they are considered sick and are dispatched and buried.
Just don’t overfeed them grain because they will founder very easily like mini ponies or even Shetland ponies people over feed grain to them, please don’t feed bread to them
Good job Liski, Kora taking care of friends. Etta and Coco are so cute and seem to be adjusting well. I think the to remember about them right now is they are babies still. Love the boots. Have a good one and may your days be blessed
Good to see/hear that the donkeys are adjusting so well.Yes they're considered equine like horses. Pay close attention to their body language. They will give off warning signals when they are not comfortable. So far they seem like they are doing Fabulous! Routine and repetition is definitely going to be a big factor when training them. 😊 My son works at a Horse Ranch.
I agree Rachel. I have always loved horses, but the cost to keep them.. I live the smell of a horse, something about them. I've wanted to get another mini donkey. Hopefully soon. Had to sell ours when my grandbabies were young. Afraid the donkey we had would of kicked them. Now that they are 7. I'm hoping to enjoy them again. I'm so glad yall got some
Love the donkeys! They are too cute! Glad Cora and Leeske (sp?) are getting better about the donkeys, too. Jason from Cog Hill Farms said that it's ok to have emus together like brothers, sisters, fathers, and mothers together for breeding cause they are different from other animals and humans. You need to ask them about that. Love the Sebastopol(sp?) Geese but MAN they are so loud! Good job Leeske and Cora! Love seeing Rachel on here, too! Missed you. God bless.😊❤
Good to see ya”ll’s donkeys! Rachel, I’ve been gone a lot also. Since March , I’ve been in & out of hospital totaling about7 months. This last spell was by far the worse. In ICU Almost 3 weeks with severe life threatening pneumonia. The Drs called my family in. I know prayers save my life. I’m so grateful for all. I had to learn how to walk again. Anyhow,I hope I can get caught up with all of y’all. Take care & God bless‼️👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻. 🇺🇸💖‼️
A couple of pointer I can give you for the donkeys are 1 they don’t like when things tower over them, because that’s how they show aggression, so to start try to be close to eye level with them, kneel down when you try to pet them 2 when you try to pet them or get close to them don’t look directly at them, or walk straight toward them, try to look away and walk sideways towards them 3 if you are going to try to break them down to ride, you have to wait till their at least 2 years old to put weight on their back
I don’t know a single person that would ride a miniature donkey these little donkeys aren’t gonna get much bigger they will never be ridden, unless it’s by the cat😂
I know people that let the kids ride them, but before you let a kid on one you have to be sure how to donkey is going to react, you don’t want to let a kid ride one and then the donkey bucks them off, or takes off on a sprint with a kid on his back
Yes your two guard dogs are whom they are today, because of your families patience, training and attention from puppy size. They are great pets!!! Your hard work shows!🦮🐕🦺 Your donkeys are adorable!!! 🫏🫏 They are my favorite farm animals!!! Blessings😊❤
Cassie Walker needs a pair of those chicken boots! Everyone has gotten little donkeys now. So when is Dutch going to get some? He always gets what everyone else has!
Awesome. Love Mini Donkey. Cassie just got 3 new ones to keep Dolly company. Her 3 will foal. Hope the Eddy's can get another Mini after their grieving period. Mini Donkeys seem to be more docile. When time comes maybe Arms Family Homestand will rent out their Jack. 😉 😉. Looking forward to watching them grow up.
@@Dusk1962they got 5 new ones. A subscriber gave them two, and they then got 3 more. The fist two they got aren’t too friendly with their goats so are hoping that will improve. On his video today
That is why I love your channel. You research things before you get an animal. You have the setup ready before you get them. I have seen one get animals then have to rush home and get something set up for them. The two mini donkeys are a great addition to the farm. 🥰🥰
Its funny that you and Cassie got mini donkeys at the same time :) Deejay Arms has had minis for a while... I have loved watching her crew :) Now more to love with yours. ❤❤❤ Racoons are pretty, but destructive and mean.
Nice looking Hisea boots. Good seeing Rachel out with you. Glad the donkeys are fitting in. Glad Leeske or Cora got the raccoon. Good luck finding another female emu. GOD BLESS Y'ALL.

Kevin and Rachel, I'm so glad the mini donkeys are settling in to their new home. I know it will take a bit more time, but they are off to a good start. Rachel, I'm so glad the donkeys are reminding you of growing up with horses and adding some joy to your life after your tough year. I was as amazed as you both when I saw Leeske caught a raccoon. I never heard anything. Of course, the geese were being really loud to drown out any noise that might have come from the other pasture. I was surprised the raccoon was out during the day, as they are usually noctural creatures. It was good to see Mojo, and Smeegle in the video, too.
Hello folks, Kevin, you was right as far as their feeding schedule goes but donkeys do not need much to eat now hold in mind those girls are pregnant but if you feed them too much, they get a fat sack up around their neck that will drop and they will be in pain so just a suggestion check into it and feed accordingly I would hate to see something get messed up because they over ate too much food.
They are only 6 months old. In the first video the one was trying to nurse from the other so she must have just been weaned not long ago. They become fertile at a 1-2 years old. I think they are just chunky. They still are going to grow a little bit so i bet they grow into their little bellies.

I think it’s neat to have the mini donkeys. Great addition to your farm. Not all animals on the farm have to be for profit. Some can be for pleasure.

I never heard anything. Of course, the geese were being really loud to drown out any noise that might have come from the other pasture. I was surprised the raccoon was out during the day, as they are usually noctural creatures. It was good to see Mojo, and Smeegle in the video, too.
I think you made a great choice in animals for the farm. Miniature Donkeys are wonderful.
Leeske rocks!!!!! He’s the BOSS! 💥 love the donkeys. Love y’all! Prayers and blessings from the OKC Grandmother.
