    @Sennheiser If you ever overhaul your In Ear line. Please consider making them in way to get them deeper into the ear. Sound is wonderfull but because they sit on the outside of ther earchannel you have a lot of occlusion while singing and they fall out easy.

    Bought a set of the new 300 IEM's and absolutely highly rate them, they're the most comfortable IEM's out there, can literally sleep with them, I've paired mine with an cobalt dragon and run it through my Samsung phone and got not one complaint, wear them for up to 8 hours a day straight.

    This is not that simply. BA's are used for very precise sound in the narrow space and are not affected by air inside of shell - they are excellent for high sound frequencies and their separation. Dynamic drivers are excellent for bass, sub-bass and lower mids. Dynamic diaphragm 7mm is not suitable for all of this freq together at the same volume, that is where are hybrid (BA + Dynamic) drivers excellent instead. At least 10mm dynamic driver + 2-3 pairs of BA well separated (before nozzle) could produce fantastic sound full of details (== rich of higher frequencies). BA's for mids or (sub) bass are very bad idea, that's true. Balancing BA's mean "solving the distortion problem". The only backdraw for BA in high frequencies (for me) are female siblings, if You have a "batman" sensitive ears (or hysteric mind, mostly). On other side, most of miniature dynamic drivers are just not able to produce such AMOUNT of sound at this high frequencies - so there is almost nothing to hear (==notice & complaint then) for You. Depends on Your taste and Your sensitivity to higher frequencies. Dynamic drivers 45-60mm on other side are better than BA+dynamic 10mm, but they simply not fit even into elephant ears. Drawback for most of traditional manufacturers is a fact, that they have no technology suitable for producing hi-fi grade BA's, that's where China manufacturers are drastically improve they skill now.

    Makes no sense. Ba they don't project sound all together. They set in different pipes or tubes . Now if you say having this dd. Plus a shell for the ba too. That is great. I like sennheiser. Problem is the price. The ie900 the inclosed is great build. The end of drilled metal tube for lower the distortion is great. But charging 1000 dollars more because its build in a aluminium shell compared to plastic when costs 50 dollars more to build that difference and then charge 1000 dollars more. I would not be surprised that chifi is winning the market

    I tested the IE 500 PRO several times, there are very good reasons why i own an Sony IER-M9. The M7 and M9 both are better than the IE 500 PRO in every aspect you can think of.
    They are more expensive, yes, but better.
    That BA have more distortion is false advertising. Maye there exists some who have that, but i never heard one.

    • @newsappa49
      @newsappa49 2 года назад +5

      Distortion from BA comes from poor crossover tuning and if it’s good tuning sound, its will be not coherent as Dynamic driver. To tune dynamic driver to be good sound is difficult than putting multi BA and tuning them. BA is good for technicality i cannot deny that, but coherent sound of dynamic and planar driver are above level of multi BA iem.

      Both approaches have inherent benefits as well as inherent drawbacks, as often there's no such thing as a clear cut "better". Otherwise there wouldn't be so many iems still using dynamic drivers, no matter if alone or in combination.
      BA drivers are often used for various reasons. One of them, if not the main reason especially considering "Chi-fi" and "boutique" manufacturers, is the simple fact they're cheaply available over-the-counter parts even in small lot sizes that let companies avoid most of the R&D work they'd have to put in if they were to develop drivers themselves. Which definitely is way out of reach for most companies selling expensive iems these days - made from cheap components in cheap resin/3d printed shells with an incredible profit margin if they get the hype up enough.
      Basically everyone can order some drivers from Sonion and/or Knowles and tune them properly. It's not very hard to do, and makes for a really fun project - made two different sets as a father son project and people can hardly believe they're homemade, because they're basically just as good as your regular high-end multi driver iem. No magic in there, except for very few outstanding companies with some (most probably patented) secret sauce.
      Not that easy with single drivers no matter if BA or dynamic, though dynamic seem to be even harder.
      Anyway, there's a place for both and I wouldn't consider either of them as "better". They're right about distortion though, BA seem to have an inherent disadvantage - no matter if you notice it or not.
      And try sleeping with a multi driver iem or them versus the same set in new after handling them rough like in day to day use for a while or dropping them - if they're not properly cushioned they usually won't get any better while a dynamic driver is much more robust and forgiving. Unfortunately the overwhelming majority aren't suspended to decrease shock loads at all, but constantly using them won't let you notice the deterioration in sound quality anyway.

      @@heinzhaupthaar5590 Thank you very much for your comment, which confirms the idea I've had of this "chi-fi" market over the last few months after falling into it. Would you have one or more reliable brands to recommend that offer IEMs with good value for money? Or any models in particular? I'm looking for IEMs that are as neutral as possible.
