Check out this course about trim brushes here. I plan on adding more videos to RUclips soon, but in the meantime browse here: fashionchalkboard.com/create-brushes-prints-garment-details-adobe-illustrator-summary/

      Hi there,
Sorry the files are not available anymore. My storage system was hacked during 2020 and these files are lost.
Good news is that the technique shown works in the current Illustrator environment. Feel free to let me know if you got it to work.

      Hi Eraine,
At 6:14 you can see how I zoom in to view the edges. In essence, imagine vertical lines at the outer edges of your brush (left and right) and they need to fit flawlessly without a gap.
You can go to view> show rulers> click to activate them. Then drag and drop a guide from the rulers to see if everything is flush with each other. The mistake in my example is that the inside color / fille (brownish orange) and the outline/ stroke (black) are not exactly flush with an imaginary vertical line.
I proceed to explain the solution.
So in short check your left and right edges top to bottom and see if anything is sticking out.

@@FashionChalkboard Why do you use the pleat that seems to indent in the center? Why not make a curved edge as you did for the pleat underneath?

@@JanetCaterina Hi Janet, Thanks for your comment. Do you have a timestamp for your question. It has been so long, I don't remember what I did or thought. But can try to remember. Let's help each other. LOL

The part where anchor is added in the middle to curve the brush pattern just fails on me. Any help ?

Hello @Nasyim, thanks for watching. And I hope my off video explanation will help you. Perhaps you can do this on a line without the brush effect first. Then it's exactly the same once you have a path with the brush. OK. Here are the steps:
      1. Draw a straight line with the Pen Tool.
2.Once you draw the straight line (path) switch to the Add Anchor Point Tool (shortcut +) and press with the Add Anchor Point Tool on the center of the path (straight line).
      3. Since this last Anchor point is still active I can just use my arrow key (on keyboard) to move it down. I do this until I see a v shape forming. (If the new center anchor point isn't active. You can use your Direct Selection Tool to select and move it down)
      4. Now that you have a V shape switch to the Anchor Point Tool (shift + C) and click and pull on the Anchor Point until it converts to a curved shape. This is why in the past the Anchor Point Tool was named Convert Tool.
Thoughts... sometimes I just draw 3 Anchor Points (instead of adding at the end). Then I still need to activate the center one, move it down and convert.
Hope this helps. Let me know. And great luck.
