  • Dad's friend came by the shop for a visit with his beautiful completely rebuilt 1956 Wide Gauge. No point having a Bombardier Wide Gauge if you are not going to use it. Besides the dog wanted to go for a ride so no further excuse needed. Test run through a couple feet of snow at full power! Had to stop mid way through the run to switch places with the dog that was jealous he wasn't getting a ride! Dad gives the full report on what was done on the machine afterwards. Owner might sell?
Bombardier owners are split into two categories, those who love to own a piece of history and appreciate the recreational value of them and those who depend on them to make their living.

My father had one of these back in the 80's in Nova Scotia. Had a Chrysler industrial engine in it, almost impossible to get it stuck.

    Are you wearing a mask???

Yes. I got COVID in late 2020 despite all precautions. I am a COVID long hauler and do not want COVID again, since it tried so hard to kill me the first time. Dad goes nowhere except the shop and neither do most of the visitors to dad's shop. I am literally the one person in the whole group who would get exposed to anything and I barely go anywhere. Dad and his buddies are all older, more likely to have a bad outcome if they get exposed. Omnicron still hasn't peaked locally and thus I rarely take off my mask.
