PREACH!!!! The gimmick locked creativity in the deck! Gimmick gave us tunnel vision! Now without it. Most of the decks this format can’t predict what branded can do as one man said “an artist does their best work when they don’t know what they’re doing at all” branded does better when they don’t have a clear win condition!
I completely agree with you. A lot of players aren’t fully aware of what the deck does, even before the banlist due to it not being so popular in the meta. Post banlist, even fewer know what the deck sill do. I do think that branded is going to be in a much better spot rn
PREACH BROTHER!!! I’ve been so sick of Branded players whining about banlist changes to their deck that should have happened years ago. The lock was locking us out of creative deck building, that is the life of the rogue! We must embrace it, not run from it!!!
The only banlist change towards the deck I complained about was branded fusion to 1. The lock I would argue wasn’t needed until snake eye released as it was a deck that felt near impossible to otk through their board and so you locked them after semi breaking the board. For right now, locks are still a thing you can do with cards like d/d/d vice requiem but like I said with branded expulsion when it got hit, this is Konami’s way of telling us to do something new
Oh same dude. Branded fusion to 1 broke my heart at the time with my reaction to it being on the channel, but it was more a hit to decks using branded as a sub-engine
@zeldaduelist honestly after it's next wave of support I think D/D will be slightly stronger than Branded. Especially with the Yubel and Fiendsmith synergy
Me with my ddd vice king slotting it right back in. I get the decks training wheels are off, but the problem is that without a lock your endboard is nothing compared to a yubel endboard, or a fiendsmith kash board even. With tenpai and snake eye taking the piss, I think the amount of powerful endboards decreases, but we are a power crept deck without an option to lock. I do agree that branded players need to learn what to do other than locking. Ie, my first regional with the deck where I blind puppet set up on a labrynth player and they proceeded to chuckle, set 5 and pass back. But we still have vice king, and locking is something we can do still, so why deprive ourself of the option?
I think that is completely fair. I can see the logic for playing a lock, and it is still legal, however, I personally feel like as a deck branded may still have some unexplored tech options and ways to play the game that were not uncovered due to puppet being near mandatory since snake eye poplar came out. I think the main issue with the current locks (ddd is the best, with ido at number 2) is that they don’t linger, which is a massive factor, and it then becomes a point in which you could suddenly loose to a book of eclipse or forbidden droplet that you previously would not have as they can remove it that way. I will say locks are plenty good still, don’t get me wrong, but as a deck we can make use of so much layered interruption it seems silly to ignore it in a format where it is going to be nice. Yubel boards are weaker with one phantom, and its a risky pick rn due to the mulcharmys that exist as yubel is a deck that really suffers into both. Fiendsmith kash is not a threat in terms of an endboard, its the handtraps that are a problem
That is what I plan to do at some point. I am currently just flat broke due to the holiday spirit. I will be able to get them at some point in the new year (even if its slowly coming in)
@eoghanmcloughlin1835 sounds like a plan dude. No comedy as targetting hasn’t been a major factor to this current format from what I can tell and skill drain is down popularity.
Maybe dude. I honestly don’t think the decks merge well together in master duel without instant fusion, and I also don’t play master duel. Partially due to a hatred for maxx c, partially because my laptop is busted rn
@ahmedelewa7158 Yeah sorry dude! From what I can tell, its just searching branded fusion off cobra to fuse dm and albaz into lubellion and then dragoon from there
That it was, but I do believe that locks were mandatory to use before the banlist, but banlist it isn’t needed. Could potentially come up against Yubel but I do think that with its recent hits and the existence of either mulcharmy in the format, Yubel shouldn’t be too popular

Would rather have BF at 3 and Sanctifire banned a million times over. Or ban every single possible lock replacement.
The only banlist change towards the deck I complained about was branded fusion to 1. The lock I would argue wasn’t needed until snake eye released as it was a deck that felt near impossible to otk through their board and so you locked them after semi breaking the board.

Guys the best options are D/D Orthros and D/D/D Vice King Requiem. The reason is simple. Because you are giving me free extenders in D/D.
Ahhh, of course lol. Gotta love to see a d/d/d player here
@zeldaduelist give me a free board breaker I dare you lol
@Rabidragon9241 I probably would if it was a casual game gotta give d/d/d a chance (jking)
@zeldaduelist honestly after it's next wave of support I think D/D will be slightly stronger than Branded. Especially with the Yubel and Fiendsmith synergy
@Rabidragon9241 I will have to look into it more

Please do play Requiem. It gives me a free board breaker and extender in D/D/D
Seeing you asked so nicely lol
Highly recommend buying singles of Thrust from Bonanza. They finally got a good reprint and are like $20 for a playset.

Hey Zelda, love your takes on Branded and honestly, very much agree with your LADDL take, keep up the good work!
Hey dude, thanks for the support! I will continue doing what I have been. You got anything you want to see in a video?
@zeldaduelist Would love to see some gameplay against mallis and ryzeal once that laptop is back up and running! Also, no more despian comedy guu?
@eoghanmcloughlin1835 sounds like a plan dude.

En mi opinion yo opino que no hay una carta que sustituya igual a guiamos pero si sirven pero es hora de ver el azelea motor
Hey dude, I don’t fully understand what you mean, but that could just be google translate messing it up. Would you mind rephrasing that please?
Cool deck, Can you make a video of branded predaplant with dragoon to play in master duel
Maybe dude. I honestly don’t think the decks merge well together in master duel without instant fusion, and I also don’t play master duel. Partially due to a hatred for maxx c, partially because my laptop is busted rn
@zeldaduelist Yeah I think so too, thanks anyway
@ahmedelewa7158 Yeah sorry dude! From what I can tell, its just searching branded fusion off cobra to fuse dm and albaz into lubellion and then dragoon from there
Branded best deck
That it is! That it is
NICE!
Thanks for liking the video dude
Time for My boy Ad libitum to come back..and to have interaction with enemy...lets be honest puppet strategy op as fuck BUT so boriingggg!
