O Sacrum Convivium (Vytautas Miškinis)

O Sacrum Convivium takes its text from an antiphon from the Second Vespers for the Feast of Corpus Christi. The piece is generally quiet, and briefly rises in intensity in the middle section to embody the thought of a future glory that is given. It then returns to similar harmonic and melodic fragments as the opening, meditating on the timeless mystery of the Eucharist.
