      Thank you for your kind words, glad you enjoyed the video. There a more recent vid (Advanced Manouevres) where you can see what it's up to also. What boat do you paddle in? Cheers, Dimitri

    Excellent. You have found the sweet spot of the Cetus! I have a Cetus LV and it is docile and straight tracking, until it is edged HARD when it just come alive as you show in the video :-) I have pushed the boat into big seas and tide races and always felt secure - it rolls beautifully and the cockpit is a fraction wider than my scorpio and makes getting your feet in that bit easier. I have removed the backrest on my boat(s) and that gives me even more space to lay back on the deck. I can definitely recommend the Reed Aquatherm decks if you like bit of freedom - and a pumping hole. I look forward to seeing more of the boat (nice colour by the way).

      Thanks for your possitive comment and support! I use a P&H neoprene deck, good stuff considering that we practice rescues a lot. It gets lots of abuse when sliding another boat on it to remove the water from the cockpit. The Pyranha deck is even better with the reinforcements on both sides (where the boat hits the cockpit rim). Cheers, Dimitri

    I have a Cetus MV for 4 years, it is a fantastic boat, quite fast, manageable, safe, easy to roll. I have the construction in diolene, and unfortunately it is quite heavy. I also have other Kayaks, but I think Cetus will never sell it. I would like to add a Delphin for play,but it holds me back the price ....

    • @Northseakayak
      @Northseakayak  3 года назад

      Fantastic boat indeed! Diolen is also good, and once on the water, the weight doesn't do much difference. I should say, go for the Delphin if you have the chance! This is one of the best playboats (sea kayak) available. Price is actually lower than a composite boat. All the best!😊👌

    beautiful! 2 questions though.... how tight is your hat to stay on so well on the rolls? ha! and how long is the boat?
    thanks!

      Hi Chris! Hahahaa, I glued the hat to my head! :-) The boat is 5m41 long. You can find all the other specs on the P&H site also. Cheers! Dimitri

      cool thanks. I ended up picking up a Zegul Arrow Play MV in the 3dC layup. (black and red). I would think it is pretty close to the specs of yours. Im really happy with it. I have some videos on my page playing in it
      cheers

    Nicely done ! Beautiful boat. I'm going to have to try out that low brace to sculling turn. What brand and model is that green pfd your wearing??

      @Northseakayak  8 лет назад

      Hi there! The PFD is a HIKO Aquatic. This PFD is also made by Reed Chillcheater. It is my second one, I'm very pleased with it, enough space to store equipment. Cheers, Dimitri

      Hi there! Weight of the paddler: around 70 kg. Weight of the equipment on board: a bit less than 10 kg. Cheers, D

    Hello Dimitri. I have a question. My Girlfriend and I bought a P&H cetus LV with Connect seat. Somehow we cannot get the backband forward enough to get support, Do you have any idea what the cause could be ? How do you adjust it so it gives it's intended function ?

    • @Northseakayak
      @Northseakayak  5 лет назад +1

      Hi Merlin & girlfriend, That is weird, you have found the adjustable belt on the rear of the backband, did you? Normally that is enough to adjust the backband. If not, then there must be something wrong. I'm also on Facebook, feel free to PB me with some photos if it still doesn't work. Cheers, Dimitri

    • @mijzelfmaardanik
      @mijzelfmaardanik 5 лет назад +2

      @@Northseakayak The "Problem" is solved ! I loosened the hip pads and moved those forward, these were preventing the straps behind the backband the be tightened enough for the backband to do it's function. I thank you for your response.

    • @Northseakayak
      @Northseakayak  5 лет назад +1

      Glad it worked out in the end, congrats with the two boats! Have fun and be safe on the water.👍👌😊

      @@Northseakayak We will !!! Thank You very Much... One more question... What kind of footrests did you choose to build in your boat ? Ours are the plastic Twislock type Glassed in, surprisingly sturdy feel they have. Can we trust these on the sea with long trips though ? Do you know any failure in the heat of the moment ?

    • @Northseakayak
      @Northseakayak  5 лет назад +1

      Hello Merlin, I have those twistlock footrests indeed. Never had a failure before, they are also glassed in, no bolts visible on the outside. I'm glad with those. Cheers, Dimitri👍👌

    Hoi Dimitri, wat een prachtige boot! Even vraagje van mijn kant; ik vaar de laatste 22 jaar in een Nordkapp HS, met een ocean cockpit. Ik ben 1.90 mtr en omgeveer 102 kg (daar moet eigenlijk minimaal 12 kg af :-)). Dit jaar word ik 50 en ik wil misschien een andere boot. Ik heb het idee, dat mijn (overigens zeer geliefde!!) Nordkapp iets te langzaam is, mede door mijn gewicht. Ik wil dus eigenlijk een snellere boot, die ook lekker stabiel is (ik vaar nog weleens alleen op zee, ook in de winter, met golven, vandaar). Nu kom ik overwegend van de Cetus zeer goede reviews en testresultaten tegen. Lekker snelle, stabiele en ook wendbare boot, waarmee je ook nog wat kunt spelen. Wat mij ook aanspreekt is de afwezigheid van zo'n aardslelijk ovaal luik aan de voorkant (achter is ok, ook al zijn de ronde beter mijns inziens...) en de schegconstructie met een touw en shockcord(een verbeterde versie van de touwscheg die ik nu heb!). Maar wat zou je mij aanraden, (ik ga natuurlijk ook wel proefvaren, hoor!) een Cetus MV of een Cetus HV. Wat trektochtplanning betreft; hoogstens 2 dagen tot een week, want ik heb tegenwoordig een gezin om mee rekening te houden:-)

    • @Northseakayak
      @Northseakayak  6 лет назад

      Dag Fred, Dankjewel voor 't compliment. Het is de boot van mijn dromen, volledig naar wens gemaakt door P&H. Als ik je verhaal lees denk ik dat een Cetus Hv je wel es zou kunnen bekoren (naar lichaamsgrootte en gewicht). Hoe dan ook zou ik je toch sterk aanraden es in een Mv en een Hv te gaan zitten en zelfs proefvaren (es in gaan zitten is een minimum voor je zoiets koopt). De Cetus (alsook z'n kunststof broertje Scorpio) blinkt uit op alle vlakken. Ie is snel, wendbaar en degelijk (lees kwalitatief en volledig) afgewerkt. Ivm het luik deel ik je mening. Het ovaal luikt slikt een hoop gerief maar past niet vooraan op een boot. Hoewel je echt met een mooie klassieker vaart ga je ook baat hebben met de "sleutelgat-cockpit" van de Cetus. Je blijft het gevoel met je boot behouden, maar gaat veel comfortabeler in en uitstappen. Het rechtstreekse gevolg is dat je vlot een zelfredding kunt uitvoeren, mocht je rol niet lukken. Het toffe aan P&H in het algemeen is dat je zelf je kleuren en opties kunt kiezen (check es de website, leuke tool) wat niet elk merk toe laat. Veel groeten, en vaarplezier! Dimitri

    Hello, I´m thinking about replacing my Performance Seat with the Connect Seat in my own Cetus MV. Do you regularly use the Connect Seat with or without the optional hip pads on the sides? In the video it looks like the hip pads are not installed. Thanks for letting me know! Cheers, Ansgar

    • @Northseakayak
      @Northseakayak  6 лет назад

      Hi Ansgar, I only use the Connect seat now. Better connection between boat and paddler. The hip pads are installed in this Cetus. I find them perfect, I don't slide in my seat from left to right during edging.... or surfing... Best regards! Dimitri

    • @bataexpress8540
      @bataexpress8540 6 лет назад +1

      Hi Dimitri, thanks for your answer. Unfortunately there´s no possibility for me to test the seat before placing an order. I´m unsure if the seat isn´t too tight for me. I´m 82kg at 184cm and I´m paddling with Greenland Paddles, which require a good torso rotation for an effective forward stroke. Therefore the seat must allow a bit of fore-and-aft motion of the hips. Are your hips (your weight around 70kg?) totally locked in place by the hip pads?
      My problem with the Performance seat is that, when the backrest is adjusted backward enough ro allow an easy cowboy reentry, I need to raise the knees even for slight course corrections instead of slightly edging the kayak by just using the hips. Needing to raise the knees is hindering an effective torso rotation.

    • @Northseakayak
      @Northseakayak  6 лет назад

      You're spot on about my weight! :-) I have a little bit of place left, not much, on the hips between the pads. Too bad that you have no chance to test it. I suppose hou have no P&H dealers around, but have you tried to search for other paddlers in your area that own such a boat with that Connect seat? Just a suggestion...., so you can be sure before replacing things..... Best regards! Dimitri
