The point is without customers there is no job. Your hours are cut. I've never seen any establishment give employees extra hours when there is no work. I don't spend my money where it's not welcomed. I don't make a scene. I just demand respect by refusing to spend with you. If more people started doing this, we'd start seeing less attitudes and rudeness. Side note: Just because someone has a "lesser" job doesn't mean they don't deserve any respect. We need to respect the employees the same way they need to respect the customers. It's an even exchange.
I didn't grow up in the hood but my job involved going into a lot of stores like this and I didn't see anything wrong or out of the ordinary either lol.
I always bypass Family Dollar stores and go into Dollar General because they offer more selections then FD plus, there are only two DG's I go to and that's because the management and workers keep their stores pretty clean.

( it's not her office) So a funky attitude has nothing to do with the "community", let's be clear about that. If management doesn't employ and train, enough staff and enforce company policies (which they always offer less concern in the hood) then conditions and staff like this are the norm. If they were payed 40k per year they'd actually would have pride in their job, keep the store clean, etc. The stupid argument a lot of people have about workers who work minimum wage jobs and jobs that pay just a tiny bit over is that they don't care and that's why they don't deserve $15 per hour. They don't care because they're not payed enough to care. The CEO of Dollar Tree makes almost 11 million dollars per year, that company has enough money to pay their employees well over $15 per hour, but their Ceo and other executives want their million dollar mansions, vacations, etc. And I guarantee you that the staff working in the stores work harder than these execs do.

They would spread it out, so now even the janitors at apple could make 65k per year. Or if a franchisee for McDonald's has a prime location, they'd have to report to the government that on average that location makes 2 million per year, that means the owner would get a different cap, like after taxes and everything they make 1.2mil in profit. Say they have to give up 25% of that profit to increase the wages of their employees. You make a cap for execs so these companies have no reason to raise prices of their services and goods to make up for their looses in increasing their employees wages. The CEO of Amazon Jeff Bezos hit the biggest jack pot there is, he deserves to be wealthy, but 182 billion dollars wealthy? Definitely not, and because this is "allowed" in America is exactly why everything is so corrupt. People use to be able to make a living these jobs thatre considered to be low skill jobs meant for kids, why can't they do that now? Yes, adults shouldn't be in low entry jobs but many adults don't pursue higher education and end up in this situation. Is that our fault? No. Should they have to suffer and not be able to live because of it? No. Minimum wage should be enough for humans to get by and live a pretty stable life. I'm not saying to pay janitors 65k a year because I genuinely think that's a bit too much for a low-skilled job but I think low balling and paying people really scummy amounts for labor is really disgusting. The point is without customers there is no job. Your hours are cut. I've never seen any establishment give employees extra hours when there is no work. I don't spend my money where it's not welcomed. I don't make a scene. I just demand respect by refusing to spend with you. If more people started doing this, we'd start seeing less attitudes and rudeness.
Side note: Just because someone has a "lesser" job doesn't mean they don't deserve any respect. We need to respect the employees the same way they need to respect the customers. It's an even exchange.

First and foremost I work in family dollar and tbh this is the dirtiest and the most unprofessional family dollar ever. Like if you answering an emergency call we step to the side and have someone cover for us really quick. But other than that our shelves gets cleaned every Monday before we put products on it. This is so ghetto HORRIBLE SERVICE
It's sad but a lot of family dollar stores are like this. I have two in my immediate area and you can tell which one of them has a good manager bc one looks like how this store is and one is 10x better including employee engagement with the customers and public.

The CEO of Dollar Tree makes almost 11 million dollars per year, that company has enough money to pay their employees well over $15 per hour, but their Ceo and other executives want their million dollar mansions, vacations, etc. And I guarantee you that the staff working in the stores work harder than these execs do.

Thats why we can't just raise the minimum wage and we also can't make it once size fits all.
We need a cap on wealth, a single person can't make over a certain amount per year. Say, the CEO of Apple. Right now Tim Cook makes 125mil, say that cap was that we was now not allowed to make over 2 million per year. What does Apple do with all of that extra money? They would spread it out, so now even the janitors at apple could make 65k per year.
Or if a franchisee for McDonald's has a prime location, they'd have to report to the government that on average that location makes 2 million per year, that means the owner would get a different cap, like after taxes and everything they make 1.2mil in profit. Say they have to give up 25% of that profit to increase the wages of their employees.
You make a cap for execs so these companies have no reason to raise prices of their services and goods to make up for their looses in increasing their employees wages.
The CEO of Amazon Jeff Bezos hit the biggest jack pot there is, he deserves to be wealthy, but 182 billion dollars wealthy? Definitely not, and because this is "allowed" in America is exactly why everything is so corrupt.
People use to be able to make a living these jobs thatre considered to be low skill jobs meant for kids, why can't they do that now?

Yes, adults shouldn't be in low entry jobs but many adults don't pursue higher education and end up in this situation. Is that our fault? No. Should they have to suffer and not be able to live because of it? No. Minimum wage should be enough for humans to get by and live a pretty stable life. I'm not saying to pay janitors 65k a year because I genuinely think that's a bit too much for a low-skilled job but I think low balling and paying people really scummy amounts for labor is really disgusting. In America, if you're an adult and working in a low entry job you should still be able to live a bearable life.
