I think there is another lesson here, as well. If Angelica was not seen as untrustworthy as she is, none of this would have happened. Does it excuse Susie's behaviour? No, but that isn't the full point. She trusted the babies, even after the tricycle was damaged. She wasn't being overly defensive over it, she was just tired of constantly being hurt by a clear antagonist who was reasoned with and debated with in the past, and she has shown no signs of growth, with this episode mischaracterizing Angelica by making her apologize just to force the one point home. When has she ever apologized before without being either forced to or hurt enough by her own actions to want to just to make it go away? Never. Susie was in the wrong, but she did hear Tommy out during his entire line of questioning until he surrendered his counter argument. There was reason and logic used, just under a heated attitude. I do not think it is a healthy mindset to purely blame Susie here when both sides should have learned a lesson and grown from the experience instead of sweeping it under the rug at the end.
I don't know why but the lines between Chuckie and Phill when Chuckie says "Its a miracle!..." and Phill retorts as "Or a low flying plane..." Cracks me up to no end!
21:53. It's not about the 🪞 reflector. It's about the disrespect, it's the lying, its the bullying. It's the loss of faith and trust in Angelica. We believed Angelica could be capable of something like this. I think that's what is under all of it. You can see Tommy struggling to hold faith, and when Angelica shows the red paint, you can see just how crushed he is.
They believed Angelica could be capable of it. Angelica is her rich parents' princess so even as a kid I was sure Angelica complained to her dad and he got it for her.
@@Vassilinia Yeah, in hindsight, Angelica wouldn't need to steal anything because you know Drew is going to give into literally anything she demands. Also, if she actually did steal it, it would be incredibly stupid to then take it straight to Suzie to show off.
Angelica has her own struggles. She’s a 3 year old whose parents honestly don’t pay much attention to her. The mom is always busy on her phone, and the dad I feel gives into her too much. Like the other parents, they were very neglectful and irresponsible. When she ran away, the dad had the nerve to say “I didn’t know you left I thought you were safe and sound in your room”🙄.
lol I literally noticed it right at that moment the first time I watched it as a kid and was always confused how she didn’t notice it then when she was literally pointing in that direction
It's an interesting take on Susie. She is usually the voice of reason, encouragement and often, justice in the babies group. But it's also a great example of showing what pain, betrayal and grudges do to good people. How Susie felt made her jump to immediate conclusions which resulted her in making some very bad decisions.
To be fair they did take time to reason everything out before acting. It was just bad luck and past experience that everything pointed to her having done the crime.
Could you blame Susie for doubting Angelica? Look at Angelica's track record. The her past lies don't make her creditable, she has no respect for other people's belongings. So, how could you expect to trust Angelica?
I honestly got to give credit to this episode, it really teaches kids the dangers of vengeance. Suzy felt she had all the evidence and justification she needed to punish Angelica, despite the truth about the trike being under her nose. Did she go too far? Yes. But by all the shared history and accounts the babies had, Angelica had primed herself as an easy culprit. I mean, this is the kid who's tried to gaslight these toddlers dozens of times.
That's true. i do false accusations all the time when it comes to how i talk to my Dad. when he had that Car accident in 2017,it changed everything for us, especially how we talk to each other not yelling.
Chuckie got it rough in this episode, he was forced to commit his balloon to angelica's punishment, whether he wanted to or not, Susie decided it for him, and then at the end his balloon was popped and no one even mentioned it, no sorry Chuckie or anything. And it being Chuckie, he wasn't about to say his feelings on losing his balloon either. Poor guy.
Well if she didn't lie all the time and wasn't sneaky and slick she they would've believed her. Telling lies all the time and being sneaky is gonna catch up with you sooner or later and no one's gonna believe you even when you do tell the truth.
@@marcustrice3246 OTOH nothing stops them from seeing a lack of evidence and asking for more information either, especially if the person in question is trying to communicate that there is stuff they are overlooking (or might be overlooking).
Good on Chuckie for not wanting to sit on Susie's trike since he tends to be a klutz and would have probably done far worse to the trike accidentally than anything Angelica could have.
🤔 I never thought about that. It could be true, but I get the feeling Angelica probably asked her parents for one, unless they surprised her with the bike later after breaking the reflector.
@@amylee8969 That's true. Any child with bad behavior going around unchecked is really bad for their development. It's the parents / guardians responsibility to keep their kids in check
This episode actually does a great job portraying the complexity of handing out justice, because the reality is even the best evidence to a crime is still fallible, and it can be so easy to convince people that someone is guilty just because everything *seems* to add up. Angelica absolutely deserves comeuppance, but not for a crime that she did not commit. Furthermore, while I don't blame Susie for being worked up about it, someone absolutely should have intervened and told her to calm down and take a rational look at the situation, because she absolutely failed at that.
I know right? So many people just suck honestly we should all be more like Tommy no wonder he’s the leader not only being brave but being fair and kind to all even the secret club episode when at the end Tommy let’s Angelica play with them and chuckie Phil and Lil shout to make her say a poem chug milk or eat booger.
This episode made me feel panicked as a kid, since I had a plush I was deeply attached to like Angelica is to Cynthia. I'm every empathetic so I could easily feel her devastation.
Also, this episode particularly shows you should wait as long as you can to get all the evidence to avoid being guilty later. Even if you THINK someone did something, never jump to conclusions. Sometimes, this leads to something bigger and much worse happening than someone losing their favorite toy via balloon...
This episode was definitely intense. I always wonder, what if Cynthia never came back after the fact of realizing that Susie and the babies were wrong. An "I'm sorry" isn't going to cut it.
Exactly, I can see it happening that had Angelica DID steal it, if it was for Cynthia she’d confess, Cynthia means so much to Angelica to the point that even as a teenager who’s trying to be cool, she loves her.
@@adventureoflinkmk2ok so have Susie and Angelica trade reflectors since Angelica was the one that broke it. Plus a bike can still function without a reflector so your argument is apples to oranges.
@@DuskTillShawnno offense but even though Angelica doesn’t deserve her name the show would suck without her there I said it and proud of it I was born proud and will die proud
This is one of my favorite episodes of Rugrats Cree Summer had an amazing range of emotions in this episode loving the content Shawn keep up the great work
I can understand why they wouldn’t believe Angelica, considering all the stuff she’s done throughout the series. But tying her favorite toy to a balloon and letting it go is a bit extreme.
I know, Angelica was a bully but even SHE had limits that she wouldn’t cross. In the later seasons and Rugrats in Paris, Chuckie had that brown teddy bear that was a gift from his birth mom. I’ve never once seen Angelica try to destroy it (or at least not to my memory).
This episode taught us as kids what happens if we're little shits. No one believes you even when you're telling the truth. Lotta karma here for ol' Angelica
Chucky saying "call me when it's over" lool so relatable. Also Tommy is doing a great Arnold impression. I never noticed how similar the two characters were. Angelica is so rotten so often her getting blamed was bound to happen eventually.
May be a bit off topic but it's interesting that Mr. Carmichael didn't intervene when Angelica rode Susie's bike. Not even when Angelica was hurled into the mud to see if she was okay. The Carmichaels are supposed/seemed to be the opposite of Drew and Charlotte; attentive and extremely strict (didn't they ground Suzie and her brothers for pranking Angelica about house chorse in "All Grown Up"?). You'd think Mr. Carmichael would've been heard shouting for Angelica to not go too fast or something.
Yes, but remember... its a sitcom/slice of life show And, is it just me.. but if theres a angelica and susie episode, the episode seems to be from angelicas point and she's the protagonist and Susie (and her siblings sometimes) is the antagonist Edit: sometimes it doesnt even have to be susie, the episode where angelica bosses the kids into building a moat for her.. and the other kid named josh is the antagonist and angelica is the protagonist
This episode kinda stuck with me when I was young. It kinda helped me realize how being mean to others isn't just bad for others, but also bad for yourself. It can make you the scape goat or just get plain mistreated wrongfully. It also taught me that just cuz someone has mistreated me before, does not mean I can mistreat them. Forcing child-me to sympathize with a crying Angelica (despite how I really, really hated her as a kid, since I hated all bratty girl bullies at this time) really was a great way of teaching this emotional awareness, now that I think about it. A variation of 'two wrongs don't make a right' ended up settling in my brain cuz of this episode. In my head, child-me always imagined Angelica as a walking "wrong", that she's so mean and angry that she deserves bad things to happen to her. But when I finally saw that bad thing happen to her, it really made me empathize and want to be a good person, like Tommy.
Angelica would give anything to protect Cynthia, so the fact she insisted on her own innocense when they took her and let her float away the first time, really should have been all they needed, to at least go and ask Suzie's parents had they seen her trike.
@@rainyfeathers9148 very true. 😅😅😅 Tommy, Chucky, Phil and Lil, i can understand not being able to check because as far as their parents are concerned they can't talk yet. @@natbatlightwood5288also, correct me if I am wrong, because it has been years but, when has Angelica actually stolen anything before this point? She has lied, and she has manipulated the babies into giving her or getting her stuff, but I don't remember if she has actually stolen anything. Yeah, she took Susie's tri-cycle for a joy ride, I guess you could count that but, idk.
@@HighPhoenix1754 exactly. It's been years for me too, but i don't remember any instances of her outright stealing. I know she once pretended she had a twin sister or something to get an extra Cynthia toy...which Stu and Didi believed...they really weren't the sharpest tools in the shed were they. Like i'm pretty sure Drew would have mentioned her having a twin before that at some point, especially considering i'm sure Dil was around when she did that too so like why is Drew gunna take Angelica to Reptar Land but not this random twin we've never met before...sorry side-tangent, not relevant. But yeah i don't ever remember her outright stealing from them. She'd try and manipulate them into handing over the cool toy if she really wanted it. She was a brat 90% of the time but i can't remember her outright stealing.
Season 1 Angelica would have stolen the tricycle. She also wouldn't have apologized to Susie for breaking her flecter. That Angelica was way too mean! This Angelica acts more human!
Two of the three co-creators, Klaskly and Csupo themselves hated her. Paul Germain the one who made her in the first place was the only one who liked her.
I saw that scene of susie saying that angelica deserves this in saddest rugrats moments in nicktoons channel, or nickrewind. And My god, it was a split between tell em girl, and no don't do that
You can not expect toddlers to be rational in situations like this. Of course, they wouldn't simply think the tricycle was moved under the porch. None of them can think like Sherlock Holmes. Even the mature Susie has her limits. She's only 3 years old. 🚴🏾♀️
Two wrongs don't make a right. Although Angelica definitely pushed Susie too far, Susie let her emotions get the better of her, and it was pretty terrible to see the result. As for Tommy, this is one of those episodes that really shows how he could one day grow up to be a darn good police officer or lawyer. He was quick to jump on the "innocent until proven guilty" side of things. Sure, he was a bit quick to assume guilt when they literally caught Angelica red-handed, but that combined with the other stuff would definitely make her look guilty, even if she wasn't.
I wouldn't be surprised if Angelica got the trike first and was waiting to show it off only for Susie to steal her thunder, so to speak by showing it off first. Hence why she called it crummy.
An interesting is that despite being completely in the right: Angelica doesn’t retaliate beyond rightly telling them off, even outright stating that the guilt they’re going to carry for life shall be their punishment for wrongdoing. I have to wonder if this is why she never thought to manipulate Savannah into canceling her party in Lucky 13 despite freely admitting that Tommy’s deception would be completely within her own character after Savannah accused Angelica of the act
How these kids lived to become pre teens in hindsight is pretty amazing. Like how both Tommy and Angelica were stuck with a nasty dog and thankfully were ok because eitherSpike or the babies helped. Or how Tommy got abducted. Rugrats is one of my favorite shows but I wonder how many times CPS would be called irl
I did enjoy how Tommy was the only one who gave Angelica the benefit of the doubt. Not only because she is his cousin, but it’s just so like his character. Tommy has always been the mature, reasonable one. He never jumped to conclusions right away. Unlike the twins who get their aggressive, judgmental attitudes from their mother probably haha.
If I wrote the episode: *Susie* : Um, Angelica, I'm glad you got Cynthia back and I'm really, really sorry. Are we even? *Angelica shoves Susie into the mud puddle* *Angelica* : Yeah, *NOW* we're even.
Given how irrational she acted and the fact that she purposely tied Cynthia to the balloon, I feel like having the episode end on Susie falling into the mud whilst they're racing would be well-deserved karma. Maybe with Angelica offering to help her up.
To be fair: Susie and the babies were justified in believing that Angelica was the trike thief given how she usually is plus there was the day prior with the broken reflector.
But you can’t just blame Angelica for exhibiting that behavior. It’s her parents who are at fault, for not paying enough attention to and discipline their 3-year-old child. Showing her with material gifts is not healthy parenting! Healthy parenting is teaching and encouraging good manners, respect for others, and most of all, spending quality time with them…..not being on the phone 24/7. Angelica spends more time at Tommy’s house under Stu and Didi’s care than at her own house with her own parents.
@Zacman1123 Yeah it’s mostly Didi who catches her and puts her foot down. She’s the only adult that Angelica truly respects and doesn’t manipulate. On top of that, Didi seems more loving and nurturing than Angelica’s mom whose addicted to her phone.
I totally plan to! 😁 I want to take all of my shorter Angelica videos that I’ve made so far and combine them into a big ol’ compilation. THEN, make another video after that about Angelica... A SUPER long one that puts a different spin on her character analysis than I’ve approached already. It’s gonna be a ton of fun. 🤩
This one is an interesting epi and as many already pointed out, a good example of what happens when you push a nice person too far. For years up to this point Angelica was a bully, a lier, and a thief. Even in this Epi she did momentarily steal the trike and break it after. She even says "you'll be sorry" before leaving. Susie (while taking it too far) was in the right to assume Angelica was to blame. However, once she noticed it missing she should have asked her mom or dad if they seen it. but again a hurt person can struggle to think things over especially if that person is only 5
The tricycle episode was out of character. Angelica didn’t do anything wrong for once. She broke the mirror by accident and tried to apologize by giving her a painting.
That was taking it too far, sure Angelica was a pain, but she’s still 3 years old at the end of the day. There could be a very good reason why she’s attached to Cynthia. Stephanie from Full House for instance, was attached to that Teddy Bear b/c it was the last thing her mom gave her before she died.
@@amylee8969 Susie could've dealt with the situation more properly but she took it too far I understand that she was upset but she didn't need to destroy Cynthia like that, that was going to far
You know, 1 thing that bothered me as a kid & still bothers me as an adult is how is it that Angelica & Suzie can understand the babies when they talk but the adults can't?
Angelica and Susie are only a couple years older than the babies, so I guess they're still young enough to understand baby talk, while the adults are far too old.
Speaking of the little details, there's one last little detail that helps explain how Cynthia came back-- Suzie didn't actually tie a good knot around Cynthia's leg. Suzie, while rushing to tie the balloon string around Cynthia's leg, simply wrapped it around her leg a few times. You can see as Chuckie is still holding the balloon in a few scenes how the string is coiled around three times, which matches Suzie's arm movements. Each time the balloon was released and then grabbed again, the string slides down (up?) Cynthia's leg, getting progressively looser. So, by the time the balloon is released, Cynthia had been loosened enough to simply slide through the string and fall.
Just goes to show the power of reputation if Angelica wasn’t such a bully to the baby’s and Susie then maybe they wouldn’t have had such a knee jerk reaction and they would have been more willing to listen to Angelica’s testimony
It was more of a metaphorical comment than anything, "Angelica" let go on the balloon, is her basically telling the babies this is the consequences of her own actions, and as such, if Angelica never "stole" Suzie's trike they wouldn't have had reason to attempt to punish Angelica in the first place.
This kinda reminds me of the time when my mom jumped in conclusion and wrongfully accused me of losing and throwing away her old fashioned hair curling iron and just talking terrible about me, and just making me feel so bad and guilty for something I didn’t even do. But when she finally left somewhere I went to the master bathroom and looked deep inside of the drawer and wouldn’t you know it, I found the freakin’ curling iron in the drawer where it had always been! And I knew I would never throw something like that away! So I placed it on the counter in the kitchen and when she got home she noticed I found it and asked me where was it, and I very casually said “It’s just been deep in the drawer in your bathroom the whole time” (where it has always been) and then I said Next time before you go out accusing someone of something or just jumping to conclusions please make sure you’ve searched everywhere else or try asking where something is. And then she apologized.
I think the reason why Susie got so worked up when she thought Angelica stole her trike (and why she often butts heads with Angelica in both shows), is that she feels like Angelica doesn’t have to play by the same rules as everyone else and she’s sick of it. Because Angelica’s parents spoil her so much and constantly tell her how special she is, and that she’s learned how to avoid getting caught by acting “innocent” around adults, Angelica doesnt feel like she has to follow the rules, because her environment has taught her that the rules of right and wrong doesn’t apply to her. Whereas Susie’s upbringing has taught her to follow those rules. Though we never see her parents punish her on-screen, it’s safe to say that Susie knows she’ll get in trouble if she was caught doing the wrong thing. All this to say is that Susie taking Angelica’s favorite doll in such a cruel way was to both punish Angelica for stealing her trike AND to drive the lesson home that she’s not above the rules.
As a kid, I really thought she did it, but felt aweful after seeing how it unfolded. Even today there's time I begin to acuse somone if there's a lot of evidence, but I try to ask questions now and take a step back first then going off the Handel
i can't blame Susie for being mad and not believing Angelica since she has a habit of lying and taking things that are not hers but bullying her is not the way to handle it . even if they believe Angelica stole the tricicle bullying Angelica and getting rid of cynthia like that is not fair (i know they are like 3 or 5 but this is actually how toddlers act)
if we're not looking at susie being slightly ooc, i think its less about the bike and more about angelica in general. considering how she is a repeat offender for other cruel things, susie may have snapped and used the bike as the opportunity to vent what she wished she could do: hurt angelica. Angelica doesnt know how to be genuine in her admiration for Susie and to Susie, it comes off as if Angelica hates her. So, she vents that anger in a way she sees is justice.
Unfortunately even today stuff like this happens too often in many court systems across the world. People jumping to conclusions, not giving fair trials, and punishing the innocent in ways that can never be reversed.
Tommy Always been a real one like the last episode yeah Angelica has given him plenty of headaches as well throwing his ball over the fence drinking up his chocolate milk among other things he's still always having her back that's still his family.I Felt bad for her but Angelica's past came back to haunt her Susie any other time wouldn't be wrong she was always doing bad and mean things to her and the babies. This episode was heavy I remember this like yesterday they don't make em like this anymore.
I want to add to the commentary that not only this is a lesson to Susie and the babies about vengeance, seeking justice, and the like, but this ought to be a lesson for Angelica as well. Treating others horribly will put a big target on your back when something bad happens. I definitely appreciate this episode's complexity of repercussions of one's past and present actions.
When I was a kid I loved villain characters and hated goody two shoes characters because I "didn't like people who do things just because they're supposed to do them" (Odd, because I was always big on following rules myself) also I hated babies/little kids. All of this made me love Angelica and hate Susie. I was sooo little when I watched Rugrats and this is the only episode I remember as an adult because it enraged me so much XD
Unless Chuckie’s balloon had way more helium in it like a thanksgiving parade balloon Angelica’s doll wouldn’t have gone up at all. Instead it would been ground ( I’ve tied Barbie dolls to balloons in the past and it just weighed them down) Cynthia most likely weighs like a small weigh balloon disk.
I think that experiences like this and the bullying helped shape Angelica into the more mellowed out version we slowly get by the end of All Grown Up. The show displays how she's capable of growth and becoming more mature and compassionate. It shows how good the writing is. It's a shame the reboot couldn't keep up with this level of quality.
This episode made me realize that we need to be careful on accusing someone who didn't do anything. It will hurt a person emotionally and destroy relationships. Like a character of mine I call Sam. He was falsely accused of stealing money from some of his family and they disown him. He ends up alone and depressed until a married couple help him. 8 years later, his parents find him after learning the truth and they tell him everything while wanting to reconcile. He gets angry at them and tells them to never come back in his life! Before they leave, they apologize, give him something from his grandfathers will and tell him they love him no matter what. They cry while going to their car. Sam remembers the good times he had with his parents and before they leave, he decides to give them a chance under his terms (He had some conditions or he'll go no contact). Eventually, their bond grows slowly while visiting his parents but he still wants to stay with the couple who took him in. They understand since they want him to be happy. Who falsely accused Sam? His younger brother, Tony. After learning the truth, his parents disown Tony and they start looking for Sam for 5 years (He drove a few hundred miles away from home since everybody abandoned him.)
Also, even if Angelica was guilty, Cynthia would have come back down because of the popped balloon. So everything Susie did would have been a waste of time. 🤷🏾♀️
just wanna say I really like this channel! makes me feel like I'm talking to an old friend. reminds me of my brother and I staying up after watching shows and talking about them when we were kids.
Even if Angelica did it, I’m still not convinced that anything they did to her (or her possessions) would bring back the trike or undo the crime. But it would result in further suffering.
They could've just asked Angelica to share what she was finger painting. Even if she did steal the trike, the punishment doesn't fit the crime. Angelica rode right up to them on the "stolen" tricycle at which point they could've just gotten it back. Cynthia is Angelica's best friend. Honestly, I've reflected on this episode while thinking about real life. I think of family jumping down one another's throats and steamrolling them with the worst faith interpretations without listening to the accused. Whatever good intention exists, there's no room for it to show itself amid the drama and negativity.
I've noticed throughout the Rugrats franchise that Susie can act out of character or show a mean side when it comes to dealing with Angelica. Another example besides this episode is during the spin off series all grown up during an episode in the family's way where Charlotte having enough of Angelica's bratty behavior after she and drew have to cancel their family trip to Hawaii she forces Angelica to spend the week at the carmichaels house for more discipline after seeing how well behaved the Carmichael kids are. While susie and the others bet Angelica won't last the week Tommy and Chuckie bet she will because despite being spoiled Angelica is also very determined. After a few days of doing household chores becomes too much for Angelica and she's ready to quit she finds out about the bet and start to adapt to the family rules just like Tommy predicted much to Susie's frustration. So with the help of her brothers they change the chore chart so Angelica has extra chores to do on a Saturday one involving having to clean the rain gutters that leads to her falling off the roof. When Susie's parents find out they punish their children and Angelica gets to go home having learned to appreciate what she has intermediately starts to insist she and her parents do things the way the carmichaels do from now on. On the one hand even as a kid I agreed what Susie did was wrong and that she shouldn't stoop down to Angelica's level the same thing goes to everyone else for making a bet involving Angelica that wasn't any of their business but re-watching it I agree Angelica has done a lot of bad things in the past even though all grown up shows that she's matured somewhat but still a little bratty and still acts that way as a teenager it seems even worse because she's supposed to be more mature. I probably wouldn't want Angelica to win the bet either seeing how she acted like such a brat to her parents and felt they owed her for having to cancel the trip despite the fact that they're probably the only people who genuinely love her a fact that doesn't seem to bother her at all since everybody else dislikes her so much they didn't want her to win.
This episode was very thought provoking in many ways by virtue of the fact that the audience can very easily see both sides of the issue. Looking at the situation from one side, Angelica has a track record of stealing, lying, and being overall dishonest, as such, the kids had every right not to trust her, more so as all evidence seemed to point right to her, on the other hand, Susie's punishment was much too harsh and disproportionate. Even if Angelica had been guilty, two wrongs don't make a right.
Right?! I couldn’t agree, more. Susie was NEVER this hostile towards anyone… It felt pretty forced on the writers behalf, tbh. I hope that life is treating you well and that you’re having a great Sunday, my friend! 😊
@@DuskTillShawnnope it’s understandable that Susie would feel this way towards Angelica bc of how she previously treated her as well as like everyone else basically
This kind of episode was very important IMHO. For the bulk of her appearances Susie is not shown in a negative light and it's important that they actually did. It's great that the dynamic they gave to Susie and Angelica allowed for the scenario that unfolds to feel like it progresses naturally too. If those two were not such excellently written foils to each other the episode would've never worked IMHO.
This did feel out of character for Susie. Normally, as Angelica's foil, she is the calm and cool voice of reason. Still almost always staunchly against Angelica, but in a 'lets all keep our cool' kind of way. Her hot-headed reaction here, while not without ANY evidence, just wasn't like her usual self.
Susie was a new character at the time, and what you described didn't become fully present until Season 4, when the programme received the soft reboot treatment.

I'VE NOTICED THAT TOO EVEN WHEN I WAS YOUNG I'VE ALWAYS NOTICED THAT BLINKING YOU'LL MISS IT MOMENT I'M JUST GLAD I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE NOW

The babies gushing over Susie's tricycle is like a bunch of middle schoolers gushing over a high schooler's new car.
Poor guy.
True, he does get dragged around alot, it's kinda the point of the character but still an apology now and then wouldn't go amiss.
Alternate title: Susie gives Cynthia the death penalty.
Haha fr
I think that would be an act of mercy considering the condition and treatment Angelica subjects Cynthia to.
Or gets held hostage and almost dies
Susie was perfect as a foil for Angelica.
It's especially funny as Angelica has angel in her name but acts evil while Susie has sus in her name

I really do like that this episode teaches a rare but important lesson. Yes, bullies deserve to be punished but not for crimes they didn't commit.
Well said.
Something that wasn't touched on: Angelica more than likely got her own trike as a reward for making the apology note for Susie.
You know, I've been watching this episode for 30 years, and never once did I think of this!
Pretty sure it’s more of she begged her parents and they gave it to her because they are rich and she’s spoiled.
🤔 I never thought about that. It could be true, but I get the feeling Angelica probably asked her parents for one, unless they surprised her with the bike later after breaking the reflector.
Ngl, due to Angelica's bad reputation being a bully, liar, and thief, I don't blame Susie and the others (excluding Tommy) 4 accusing her.
I agree! But Angelica’s parents need parenting classes. I don’t blame the 3 year old for her behavior, I blame her upbringing.
@@amylee8969 That's true. Any child with bad behavior going around unchecked is really bad for their development. It's the parents / guardians responsibility to keep their kids in check
Very True. When u're a bad person in general, of course u'll be the 1st person ppl will suspect
That scene where Chuckie said "lets not get carried away" when Susie said he can sit on the trike always crack me up.
Foreshadowing the events of the episode and the moral
This episode actually does a great job portraying the complexity of handing out justice, because the reality is even the best evidence to a crime is still fallible, and it can be so easy to convince people that someone is guilty just because everything *seems* to add up.
Angelica absolutely deserves comeuppance, but not for a crime that she did not commit. Furthermore, while I don't blame Susie for being worked up about it, someone absolutely should have intervened and told her to calm down and take a rational look at the situation, because she absolutely failed at that.
The fact that Tommy had more sense of justice at one than most people in adulthood is hilarious to me. I know it's a cartoon but damn.

Yup
Yes, but remember... its a sitcom/slice of life show
And, is it just me.. but if theres a angelica and susie episode, the episode seems to be from angelicas point and she's the protagonist and Susie (and her siblings sometimes) is the antagonist
Edit: sometimes it doesnt even have to be susie, the episode where angelica bosses the kids into building a moat for her.. and the other kid named josh is the antagonist and angelica is the protagonist
I’m surprised chuckie could jump that high in that episode for Cynthia

Thanks for the likes guys

Yeah, she took Susie's tri-cycle for a joy ride, I guess you could count that but, idk.
@@HighPhoenix1754 exactly. It's been years for me too, but i don't remember any instances of her outright stealing.

Moral of the story: “Don't let Susie borrow your balloon.”
It made no sense. Dolls (even dolls Cynthia’s size) are usually heavy enough to weigh down a balloon.

18:40 Yeah, Stu basically getting used to Randy and learning to treat him proper makes sense it do.
If I wrote the episode:
*Susie* : Um, Angelica, I'm glad you got Cynthia back and I'm really, really sorry. Are we even?
*Angelica shoves Susie into the mud puddle*
*Angelica* : Yeah, *NOW* we're even.
😅😅😅😂
@@amylee8969 i don't disagree with that but they do punish her the few times they catch her.
@Zacman1123
Yeah it’s mostly Didi who catches her and puts her foot down. She’s the only adult that Angelica truly respects and doesn’t manipulate. On top of that, Didi seems more loving and nurturing than Angelica’s mom whose addicted to her phone.
IMO there is a world of difference though between believing it is likely, and just going and assuming she did definitively.
You definitely should make a long video about Angelica in Rugrats.
I totally plan to! 😁

Right?! She was never like this. It felt like it was pretty forced on the writers behalf.
The tricycle episode was out of character. Angelica didn’t do anything wrong for once. She broke the mirror by accident and tried to apologize by giving her a painting.
But I want to say: Happy 33rd Anniversary to one of Nickelodeon's original NickToons!
I remember watching that episode it got serious real quick Susie destroyed Cynthia
Baby genius's logic probably. It's a language that you forget how to speak when you age past a certain point.
Angelica see I told you I was innocent
Tommy: for once
The funniest part of the episode was Susie convincing the babies that Angelica let go of the balloon when it was clearly Chuckie 😂😂😂
If Cynthia didn't came back Angelica would jave hated Susie for the resy of her life
I think the reason why Susie got so worked up when she thought Angelica stole her trike (and why she often butts heads with Angelica in both shows), is that she feels like Angelica doesn’t have to play by the same rules as everyone else and she’s sick of it.
Angelica and Susie's relationship is like Drew and Stu's relationship.
Unfortunately even today stuff like this happens too often in many court systems across the world. People jumping to conclusions, not giving fair trials, and punishing the innocent in ways that can never be reversed.
This was a kids version of 12 angry men
Tommy Always been a real one like the last episode yeah Angelica has given him plenty of headaches as well throwing his ball over the fence drinking up his chocolate milk among other things he's still always having her back that's still his family.I Felt bad for her but Angelica's past came back to haunt her Susie any other time wouldn't be wrong she was always doing bad and mean things to her and the babies.
These babies are very babies.
Which, considering that this show is itself, that's definitely the show doing as it intends.
Lmao Stu catching a stray “I didn’t steal your bike.” “Where you get it?” “My daddy gave it to me” “where’d he get it 🤨?”
This episode was a good lesson on how your reputation can follow you.
Instead it would been ground ( I’ve tied Barbie dolls to balloons in the past and it just weighed them down)
Cynthia most likely weighs like a small weigh balloon disk.
Even the nicest people can snap, and when they do, its not fun when they have the gun.
Chucky got some mad vertical leaps
just wanna say I really like this channel! makes me feel like I'm talking to an old friend. reminds me of my brother and I staying up after watching shows and talking about them when we were kids.
Susie was out of line during that tricycle episode where she took Cynthia away from Angelica.
Tommy is a real one. He had Angelica’s back.
The fact we see the dang thing in the back throughout the whole episode is hilarious. XD

I’m ashamed to say it took me this long to recognize the Slow Decay framed banner under your flag. Hell yeah dude. Great pick.
My man! 🤘
TAS is one of my all time favorites.
@@DuskTillShawn I gotta ask, is the video length a secret reference as well? 3750 is pretty specific, but could still be serendipity.
You would think Cynthia would have to go to the doctor after being bonked on the head with a doll from the sky would hurt like crazy
I remember this episode. It was definitely darker and out of character for Susie. Angelica really didn't deserve it for once.
Right?! I couldn’t agree, more. Susie was NEVER this hostile towards anyone… It felt pretty forced on the writers behalf, tbh.
I hope that life is treating you well and that you’re having a great Sunday, my friend! 😊
@@DuskTillShawn I'm looking for work but I'm coping pretty well. I'll be alright
Wrong
@@DuskTillShawnnope it’s understandable that Susie would feel this way towards Angelica bc of how she previously treated her as well as like everyone else basically
When I 1st saw this episode, I had to pause & rewind it to spot Susie's trike under the porch.
I think Angelica is overdue for a character analysis. Rewatching the earlier seasons showed me how much layers there are to her.
