Belichick has more to prove than Brady. He never won before Tom. Brady leaves to a team with O Line and Weapons and wins and goes to the playoffs. Meanwhile Belichick picks up Andy Dalton and has Stidham as the back up and Belichick has to pull QB’s throughout the season. They might end up winning 6-7 games tops and Brady looks like he’s more responsible for the Super Bowls.
That will also play into the narrative that Belichick never had a successful season before Brady. And he was 5-11 in Cleveland. Ppl forget, before Belichick inserted Brady he was on the hot seat back in 2001. He was about to get fired. Brady comes in and they win 8 straight. Brady has been good at every level. So, history has now shown how off-base Gottlieb's statements were. Tom Brady has always been about winning CHAMPIONSHIPS and not about the money. Gottlieb obviously misread all of this!
