Will Bill give him a 3rd year option? I don't see that happen. Their O line is going to be more healthy. Kicker gets healthy. For what the Patriots have as far as draft picks...this draft is a GOOD ONE... there is one really undervalued quarterback available and several grossly undervalued wide receivers available... if the Patriots have an open mind... as far as the receivers go... are the pats beholden to "the type" or can they think outside the box... Mark Clayton and Mark Duper were 2 VERY GOOD receivers Dan Marino threw the ball to...both men were only 5 foot 9 inches tall... BOTH receivers were also VERY DANGEROUS down field receivers...which is EXACTLY what the Pats need... they're some very good smallish receivers available... the Pats can become very explosive very quickly... and the rest of the NFL will NOT see it coming...stay tuned...

I agree with you that Tom Brady will not leave the Patriots. However, I disagree with your final conclusions - that it is about money and that Tom Brady isn't as good as he was in the past. I think it is about the Patriots making the commitment to Tom Brady that they will have ample offensive weapons during Brady's final years. I also don't think Brady is worse than he was before; quite the opposite. It was actually his offensive weapons, or lack thereof, that made the Patriots' offense so lackluster for much of the season.

    Gottlieb on being a thief:
" One night I was writing a paper on a computer that belonged to a guy in my dorm. No one was around. I was looking for a calculator, and when I opened the drawer I saw a credit card. I didn’t have one of my own. I looked at it, thought about it, closed the drawer. The next night I returned to use the computer again. This time I went for it. I didn’t have a plan. I just thought I’d use it and put it back. Who was going to know?
…as I look back, I am appalled at my behavior. Why did I do it? I can blame depression or whatever else was bothering me about Notre Dame, but here’s the real reason: I thought I could get away with it. I felt invincible. I had cheated on tests and been caught a few times, but I was always let off the hook. Besides, I rationalized that I was stealing from kids who had rich parents. I never stole from my roommate, partly because I knew his family didn’t have a lot of money. I also never stole from my teammates. All of that just rationalized my selfish behavior. None of it makes what I did OK. I was a thief. Period.?"

Brady is probably gonna go to clevland or dallas.
He wants to stick it to bill, win a ship in a place where Bill couldn't win. They have a plethora of weapons on the outside, an amazing running game, and a surprisingly good defense. The division is weak outside of the Ravens.
Dallas is in the same situation. The NFC East sent a 9-7 team to the playoffs while Dallas has the best roster BY FAR in the division and watched the playoffs at home due to shaky QB play. Dak could learn a bit from Brady, or I think they could let him walk. Who knows.

Gottlieb is CLOSE. Brady sees that bad teams are worth less than good teams so he wants part ownership with Kraft for his part in making the Patriots one of the least valuable into one of the most valuable teams. It’s that simple.

It wont happen. He has too much to lose if he plays elsewhere.
If he goes to another team and fails, then Pats still make a playoff run, people will say he was just a system QB and Belichek is the true reason for those super bowls. It's all about legacy. He will retire before he plays elsewhere.

    • @christopherklein4203
      @christopherklein4203 4 года назад

Belichick has more to prove than Brady. He never won before Tom. Brady leaves to a team with O Line and Weapons and wins and goes to the playoffs. Meanwhile Belichick picks up Andy Dalton and has Stidham as the back up and Belichick has to pull QB’s throughout the season. They might end up winning 6-7 games tops and Brady looks like he’s more responsible for the Super Bowls.
That will also play into the narrative that Belichick never had a successful season before Brady. And he was 5-11 in Cleveland. Ppl forget, before Belichick inserted Brady he was on the hot seat back in 2001. He was about to get fired. Brady comes in and they win 8 straight. Brady has been good at every level. Even Michigan he was a clutch QB that won them a lot of games. Even a OT orange Bowl game against Alabama.

So, history has now shown how off-base Gottlieb's statements were. Tom Brady has always been about winning CHAMPIONSHIPS and not about the money. Gottlieb obviously misread all of this!

It already IS over. They simply ran out of pieces. Can't just jump start this every year and expect it to last forever.
And this is just getting SILLY. What on the f'n earth does he still have to prove in the NFL??? Brady is afraid to leave football. He doesn't know what else to do in life. And he's going to make the mistake of playing too long and beyond his effective playing age. It's also hurting his family, his wife wanted him to retire three years ago. And he didn't listen to her.
He's going to play somewhere else and lose and end up frustrated.
Tom Brady is the epitome of a culture that wants cliche heroes to last forever, like he has magical powers. Extract every last bit of value out of something until it's used up and worn out.

In my opinion, the things he says here are making some sense. The truth is that only Brady knows what he's planning, and we WON'T know until the timing is right for HIM. I'll root for you now matter what, Tom. You've EARNED the right to do anything you choose.
