How is that not a Hammerfall song? This sounds pretty old school IMO. And the video stays true to hammerfall - it even reveals the eventual backstory of Hector, and how he became the Crusader of metal. The battle of the two armies looks pretty ancient, the spartan-like warlord took upon the hammer that was cast from the heavens. So my guess this is the backstory of Hector. As a sworn Hammerfall die-hard fan, I find this super badass!!!
It was because they wanted to make a scary album After that they changed members wanted them to have something new for when Stefan was even then the songs Hearts On Fire But now that Pontus is with so they are more Power metal thus when Infected perhaps because they do not sound like Hammerfall because Two of the members are no longer who was cruel for the band

Now that's some proper HammerFall sound! Unlike the first single, this one really gets me pumped for the upcoming record. I hope that this is the main direction in which the album will head.
I have listened to the full album. My verdict: An album very typical of Hammerfall, but with more proper power metal than what I heard from Revolution (my personal favorites are Dethrone & Defy and Stormbreaker, though Hammer High and The Star of Home are pretty good too).

I was in the former camp, because I really thought their new style lacked any sort of power, but I hate when people change their opinion once they are met with an alternative.
I enjoy bands who evolve and keep some traces of old. Dont even mind if they totally change their style, if they change to something i dont like much i move on instead of complaining. No band owes me nothing and every band should create what they feel like creating

While I do agree that Napalm Records has a lot of kickass bands, I don't think the publishing label is in any way responsible for those songs' quality. The bands are the ones that do all the work, after all.
So, guy one was stronger and more experienced in fighting than guy two. Guy two keep fighting him even though he was injured. When he finally injured guy one, guy one stopped fighting and started screaming even though he was less injured than guy two . So guy two killed him while guy one was still screaming. Thus, he proved himself to be worthy of the hammer that fell from the sky, which probably means that the hammer came from gods. The song is speaking about what was motivating him to fight for his hammer. Amazing!
Well, I repeat myself- they could really hire someone to write their lyrics, at least for one album to get something different and fresh. Hearing the song for the first time I predict the next lyrics with ease. Then again, it's not a bad song. It's like Sabaton- more of the same every album (except Infected, which was nice)
Fans threw rotten tomatoes at them when they tried something new in Infected (not litterally), so..... It's kind of Hammerfall's fans' fault they are always sticking to the same sound. I've seen an interview they did recently and Joacim and Pontus said similar thing to the one I just wrote. I mean, I have the album pre-ordered since The Sacred Vow was released, and I think I won't be disappointed :)
I will buy it too, because I need to compare something to it doing reviews, but being scared of fans reaction isn't good in making art. Infected wasn't perfect, but it was refreshing, and a bit different album now wouldn't be bad after the last one. Also, music defends itself- if it's good then no one will care about a few idiots bitching about it. See what Gloryhammer did with their second album, it's very different, but better than the first one in every way + it's still power metal. Oh, and I don't wanna say anything about the band themselves, but Napalm Records marketing guys are fucking insane, in the mail promoting this video I can read "After a 20 year-long global career, HAMMERFALL never stand still. In fact, these pioneers of modern melodic heavy metal haven’t slowed down, quite the opposite!2 decades of delivering this unique brand of classic metal has only served to make HAMMERFALL sound hungrier and more vital than at any point in the past!" ^ I think every fan will agree this statement is fucking retarded.
Infected was shit. It was miserable. You see, it could've been a decent or nice album from another band which has that kind of style, I believe there are plenty of them. HF has to stick with this knight/warrior/steel theme, because that's their genre or style. It's like any other artist in different arts: if Picasso would paint 'normal' pictures everyone would say that "yeah, sure, nice, but where's the one's you used to make?". There's only a handful of bands that can allow themselves to make different music or do some experintal stuff. Hammerfall is not one of them. We would like to see Hector on stage, we want HF to bring us to their fantasy world of knights, warriors, honour, legends, steel, fire and dragons. Not some zombie bs. On a larger scale though, I agree with you. HF lyrics are cheesy as fuck. But everything else seems forced from them. Reinvention is not meant for everybody.
I wonder, if youtubers find this out within a day - how did they not think of this during months of songwriting? Obviously they CAN play faster, the fans, die hard or casual, openly favour mostly their faster songs, why market themselves so heavily towards midtempo anthems?

While I do agree that Napalm Records has a lot of kickass bands, I don't think the publishing label is in any way responsible for those songs' quality. The bands are the ones that do all the work, after all.

So, guy one was stronger and more experienced in fighting than guy two. Guy two keep fighting him even though he was injured. When he finally injured guy one, guy one stopped fighting and started screaming even though he was less injured than guy two . So guy two killed him while guy one was still screaming. Thus, he proved himself to be worthy of the hammer that fell from the sky, which probably means that the hammer came from gods.
The song is speaking about what was motivating him to fight for his hammer.

Well, I repeat myself- they could really hire someone to write their lyrics, at least for one album to get something different and fresh. Hearing the song for the first time I predict the next lyrics with ease.
Then again, it's not a bad song. It's like Sabaton- more of the same every album (except Infected, which was nice)

Fans threw rotten tomatoes at them when they tried something new in Infected (not litterally), so..... It's kind of Hammerfall's fans' fault they are always sticking to the same sound. I've seen an interview they did recently and Joacim and Pontus said similar thing to the one I just wrote.
I mean, I have the album pre-ordered since The Sacred Vow was released, and I think I won't be disappointed :)
I will buy it too, because I need to compare something to it doing reviews, but being scared of fans reaction isn't good in making art. Infected wasn't perfect, but it was refreshing, and a bit different album now wouldn't be bad after the last one.
Also, music defends itself- if it's good then no one will care about a few idiots bitching about it. See what Gloryhammer did with their second album, it's very different, but better than the first one in every way + it's still power metal.
Oh, and I don't wanna say anything about the band themselves, but Napalm Records marketing guys are fucking insane, in the mail promoting this video I can read

Infected was shit. It was miserable. You see, it could've been a decent or nice album from another band which has that kind of style, I believe there are plenty of them. HF has to stick with this knight/warrior/steel theme, because that's their genre or style. It's like any other artist in different arts: if Picasso would paint 'normal' pictures everyone would say that "yeah, sure, nice, but where's the one's you used to make?". There's only a handful of bands that can allow themselves to make different music or do some experintal stuff. Hammerfall is not one of them. We would like to see Hector on stage, we want HF to bring us to their fantasy world of knights, warriors, honour, legends, steel, fire and dragons. Not some zombie bs.
On a larger scale though, I agree with you. HF lyrics are cheesy as fuck. But everything else seems forced from them. Reinvention is not meant for everybody.
I thought Infected had its moments. The riff in Patient Zero is fucking stellar.
