I've been using L2 to shift up and L1 to shift down. Since you also advocate for engine braking vs using the actual brakes, I'd recommend this configuration and never risk an issue with the thumb leaving the right stick. Then I stick whatever brake I would normally want to use as R1, and the other on X/A (preferably the one you wouldn't want to use while also using the right stick).
I have paddles but I've never used them so I don't, I did switch it to triangle shift up and square down shift because that's what I use on NASCAR and I'm so used to it.
Great video! Definitely gave me a few things to work on. However I’m not sure I agree with your controller setup. How the heck are you shifting on A with your thumb while it’s still on the stick lol that’s crazy
It is generally more of a lightly transferring the rider weight onto the back wheel than just holding the sticks back. If you're bogging, you're holding the right stick back too far. You also could be consistently geared too high. I'm typically second gear when I exit the corner and lean back. The wheelie glitch is the single most important technique on this game to reduce lap times, especially on custom tracks. Keep at it and let me know if you have any specific questions!
@@hostilecarrot Problem is rn that, I try to find someone's ghost on Detroit who is in a almost same laptime like mine but, they are all f***ing fast 🤣🤣🤣 searching for 30 minutes and still none😭😅🙈
I always use manual in NASCAR and NEED FOR SPEED, but when u said use it here I was like holy crap how, because u are having to do so much but when I did it it's not that hard and it is faster... thanks.
Genuine question, how do you turn so good? Idk if I am supposed to hold in the clutch or let off the gas or smth idk. I have tried both, nothing really works.
@@hostilecarrot I watched ur vid, and it helped a lot, but it will take some time to get used to and to not push the stick too far. I keep pushing it all the way or almost all the way and I slide out. But I am working on it.
@@Amelia_equestrian1 it is a super difficult technique but will become muscle memory after a week or two, keep at it! Be gentle with the right stick and you got it
I’m not sure the wheelie glitch is a glitch at all. It’s the same way on Mad Skills Motocross 3. Real world planting that back tire and lifting the front is faster. Removing the front tire from the equation means you’re not bouncing off bumps .
My little brother just got Supercross 6 and no matter what you do you can’t jump any thing thing cause the bike is super slow for some reason and hes using the factory husky 450 anyone know why

Awesome information packed video now I have lots of stuff to try. Thanks.
Love the positive feedback bro, hope you drop some seconds off your lap times!
WOW 10/10 VIDEO CARROT
(But no one gone be faster than me😅)
Can't lose if you retire 🧠
Very helpful

The technique is called corner scrubbing and I have a tutorial on my channel!

Does tire selection make any differences?
Nice video man. Much appreciated
3:31 how did you put jumps on the start straight? It never allows that when I build a track. Also check out my track called “Flow Town”
How can I unlock the livery and the model options in customisation?
U forgot the in air physics kicking the bike out opposite way before u land can sometimes cause the turn glitch
good point, thanks for mentioning!
Works a charm, thanks

fantastic video
Glad you found it helpful, thanka for the kind words 🤘🏻
Great video man 🤙🏻
Is there anyway to not have to gear up and down because i used to not have to but now i do
Automatic transmission for no shifting. Manual transmission means you use the controller to shift.
Great video.
Well no wonder I have no chance online. All these glitches and bugs y’all know how to exploit. It shouldn’t work like that
No doubt lol! What the heck. Hahaha

Try preloading by pulling back on both sticks
Right stick doesn't work while on the ground.
Going from 5 to 6 I don't like the cornering its slow and feels super stiff, everything else seems good though
I felt the same way. Milestone slowed the game down but I wanna rip corners like the top pros
Why is there no option to just have the bike manual or automatic gearing like every single other supercross game?
Is the clutch useless?
I wouldn't say it is useless, it does provide some added torque when used correctly. Regardless, definitely not super important for shaving lap times.
What bike livery is that called
