This game, more than anything, shows why the original text parser adventure games were far superior than the mouse driven versions that were so much more "advanced." The simple reason was when you had to type in commands, your character did exactly what YOU told him to do. Cuff suspect, search suspect, read rights. When the mouse control took over, your character did whatever the PROGRAMMERS told him to do. Click hand, then the character does all the work. SWAT was an epic failure, in my opinion

Even I didn't have enough patience when this game first came out to shoot Packmyer in all different positions..
However, I do remember walking in the door, turning around, and shooting Denton in the nuts with buckshot. :D

You just need to keep playing through the missions. Eventually, you'll be a rear guard and you'll enter this way.

If you play the missions right. If you don't beat them exactly the way they want you to then the game just plays in an endless loop.

I'm actually running it on Windows XP now. I didn't really do anything special, but did check "Run this program in compatibility mode for: Windows 95" in the shortcut (right-click, properties, compatibility). If the game crashes when switching CDs, just reload a game and wait for another call-up. It'll work eventually, unless your CDs are messed up.

I'm running microsoft virtual pc 2007 with windows 95 on windows xp to run swat. You can run swat on windows xp itself, just run the setup and bring up the task manager by pressing ctrl + alt delete, right click on the swat setup and click maximize to bring up the setup menu. Proceed with the installation accordingly
