Good advice. We learned the harsh lesson that base designs should be tailored to the missions and not the other way around. This year so many missions are activated close to the table surface, and we had to go through a lot of grief to make attachments that connected to our base robot's attachment ports which were too high up.
I think in really just depends on how much time you have. Last year I was a rookie in a not really experienced team and we all thought that we really want to reach the international competitions. I personally think that it’s really important to have a consistent robot that doesn’t fall apart every 2 seconds🙈 I think also that you need to spend a lot of time on programming consistent driving functions. If you don’t drive or turn consistently then your robot game won’t be consistent at all… I was able to reach the WF in Houston last year with this strategy (and some other secret things😉) to be fair I had quite a lot of experience in mindstorms participating for multiple years in WRO but it was the first year of python for all of us. If you have some time and you really want to it is possible to do everything (even as a rookie😉)
