You are one hard working and dedicated individual. Do you keep a record of how much metal you recycle in a year? Recycling metal and copper helps to keep prices down for everyone in addition to keeping all of the metal out of landfills. Great job!!!
After watching your channel for a couple of years I finally got around to doing a bit of scrapping myself. Learnt a lot, made a mess, got a couple of bucks for my trouble. Not sure if it's going to be a continuous thing, but boy it sure is a lot of fun pulling things apart and figuring out how they work. Thanks for the inspiration to have a crack at it myself Thub. May your scrap be bountiful.
In the past year whenever I cut the spokes off of bicycle rims, I keep them in a tube in my shop. I use them as filler wire for when I’m doing mixed fuel welding. I just clean the spokes with a green scotchbrite and apply flux paste. Gotta look for as many ways to save these days on shop supplies these days
Love your videos man you are are literally my favorite person to watch. Some men watch football I watch you take shit apart lol. You have saved me time man. Idk about you but I lay in bed at night thinking about all tye metal I'll find and take apart the next day lol. Anyway thanks man and I wish you and your family a long happy life
Lead sells for more then scrap price. Once you pour it into molds. The people that pour their own fishing tackle and pour their own bullets like to buy it.
I can absolutely identify with how awesome it is when your kid wants to be involved with you, tell you jokes, just hang out....its what makes being a parent the greatest. My kid loved your old "how many breakfasts can I hit at the stampede" video Have fun with your sun tunnel!! (The shiny aluminum, I used to install them...not great when its in a small attic😂😂)
Dump that burned copper in with some vinegar or even some cola for a few days. GIve it a good shake a couple times a day and you may end up with number one after all. Or just let the container roll around the floorboard of your truck for awhile. It'll act like a tumbler and knock most of the soot and such off.
Man I'd love to turn that table into a welding table. Just the ascetics of it have me really appreciating its potential. Good look in piece. Understandable shame knowing it's going to the scrap heap.
Love your videos brother! I'm a electrician and a amateur scrapper/holder as my wife calls it. But I learn a lot from your videos even though I'm in Western NC. Thanks for all the info!
Hello fellow scrapper! I’ve commented many times in the past lol i only scrap the more valuable metals, no steel! I have enough junk in my house and yard, so no room for more. I keep so many little treasures and tools I have no clue what to do with it all? Could start selling it suppose, but i struggle parting with the good stuff lol
I've been scrapping for years but I have the only been self-taught you have shown meA lot of you an interesting things and all my adventures are filling up thanks for the knowledge
Don't scrap that iron table. Put a top on it and sell it. Hey Thub, sorry I've been absent from the comment the past few weeks. Great video keep up the great work broski.
@@thubprint I recently purchased a townhouse, now I have a proper place to store and breakdown scrap. You've been along while I unpack and recently while I paint. Keep up the progress broham, I'm proud of you.
Honestly with all of the free stuff you get, you should just go ahead and buy a homestead outside of city limits. Go visit it once a week or whatever and bring the stuff you want to keep/needs long term storage. You find plenty of good condition construction materials that don't need to sell to the yard. Just build up a place as you go, yes is it's less money you earn from the yard but it's more money you save not buying it at the hardware store when you need it. Plus it would unburden your home to make it a more efficient scrapping area.
That mystery item is used in grocery stores to protect corner units/fridge/freezer units from crazy shoppers banging with shopping carriages. I've scrapped alot of those
I thought you were throwing your Zamak in with your aluminum. Dunno how a yard would tell the difference other than the suspicious weight, it's hard enough to tell in person. It's so commonly alloyed with aluminum, and more expensive, wouldn't think anyone would object. Huge shame to throw it in with the tin shred. I'm surprised Empire doesn't have a zinc bin.
You got to slow down my boy you're no good if you're hurt. I feel ya i hate beingthe at scrap yard at closing that but is what it is. Another thing that trailer would be a dump trailer if it was in my possession. I stack the bed of my truck with metal the same way you would do branches one pull it all comes and no matter where I am I separate it in material types #1 heavy #2 light prepared un prepared but the one thing I dont do because we have to go around and weigh again to go inside for precision metal is go at closing because they rush and will throw clean brass with one say metal handle in to dirty instead of pulling it out or call something the wrong and cheaper material and we can't have that with all that work. Isn't that a handle for a handicapped stall the handle that folds up and down against the wall?
great video i enjoy watching them and hope you may make another video like you did for xmas afew years ago too that was great also hope your doing good keep the faith
What camera do you use? Compared to other scrappers who use go pros and iphones, your quality really stands apart. I look forward to your videos the most, no matter the content, thanks!
Thanks so much! I do use the GoPro of course, but whenever I can I use my Sony mirrorless. I’ve been collecting vintage lenses here and there so I like trying different ones out and exploring what I can get with them. I’m glad it’s been making a difference! 😁
Looking thru all your videos. Love em but mostly the alley/dumping videos. In sweden you cant do that. There is no thrash outside.. you cant even go into a container.. keep up with those videos and I woud love to see how much the gas also cost 😀
I somehow got a soft ice-cream machine for scrap. Amazing amount of copper in those. But the machine itself is heavy as f*** pulled my back just trying to flip it on the ground.
I made 135 yesterday. Aluminum and bare bright. The guy at my usual yard showed me his mill last time I was there. Very cool. I go to the yard on 23st in the northeast. They're super friendly and the shop is tidy.
What kind of aluminum? We get paid by the pound for cans where I live .. and cast is like .35$¢/lb …. Bare #1 is about $3 …. You must’ve had a nice little load
I wish there was sime way i.could.chat with ya.. ive been scrapping for.yeats, Myself... I get down to rhe MLCC chips stockpiles and seoerating tiny electronics... But then i also buy myself physical gold and silver. I can see what youre doing, i wish maybe i could help. Wish we could chat.
Love how you rolled up late and still did it 😂well good

I'm not sure all that falling down stuff is part of the point, but, if it is, you have reached expert level, Thub.
Love these processing vids

Looked like a nice powder day for boarding!
We were there for 3 days, hit some of the most incredible runs of my life 😄
@@thubprint I’ve had a few decent days in Utah this season, but nothing will ever top last season, tons of powder days!
Wish this dude was my friend, hes hella cool.
enjoyed the snowboarding!
Those giant screws are fairly pricey ground anchors

I've seen where old TV cabinets are reposted as aquariums, small pet abodes, and terrariums.

Great Video as always Thub, thank you so much. Great score. ❤️💙
Open the surge protectors they have long strips of copper in them, well worth the few screws to open it.
Its a very big punch bowl for all your happy occasions, celebrations. Man. Cheers.
Super cool sorting and processing video. I enjoyed it all.
Love the copper bowl!! Awesome video my friend!!

Yeah, my yard pays clean cast aluminum price for that
