441km/h is the new FPV GROUND Speed World Record - Funjet 2 Ultra

- I set the new world record for top speed/ground speed with an FPV plane, 441km/h!
My funjet Is now the FPV plane that flew fastest in the WORLD.
I hit a bunch of swiches by mistake after I pulled down the goggles and grabbed the controls, accidently put the plane in position hold but it was a good thing as I now realize that INAV acually might be able to handle the insane torque roll this plane suffers from at launch and that autolaunch mighy be an option after all on this plane.
Launching in manual on 6s scares me every time and Im nervous whenever Im gonna fly this monster just becouse of the launch. On 4s it not bad but on 6s its REALLY scary! - Наука
Im building the $26 AliExpress version of the funjet and i chose the $27 surpass hobby 3674 2500kv motor. Im using a $40 190-200a red brick esc and starting off with $20 4s 2600mah 100c lipo.
So how did it go?
Hello
Do u know what high this drone can reach?
@@ladno_ladno4361 About 18,750 feet if you have enough battery.
Looks like it to me bro!! Well done!!!! Seems to sustain the expected level speed of a FJ with that motor around 360kmh, but that speed in the dive looks real enough to me!! You know this has set a fire in the Omegooliebird nest!! Going to have to unleash the next wave!!
Thanks man! Yeah its very slick the way I set it up but its not the slickest airframe out there. I did adress the hinge line aerodynamic weakness of the Funjet but still it cant maintain the level flight top speed for long, mainly becouse I cant eleminate all drag and also becouse of the voltage sag....
Hahaha yeah I hoped and knew that fire would start and I would not expect anything less. Take it to the next level mate👍👍👍
@@SLINGSHOTandMOLOTOWSHello
Do u know what high this drone can reach?
@@ladno_ladno4361 probably not very high becouse the battery drains VERY quickly. Its very heavy and built specifically for speed
@@SLINGSHOTandMOLOTOWS Thanks
Also, do u know some drones on civilian market that can fly on height 3-4 km with 150 km/h speed? Or some drones that with some upgrades will be like this?
That's one quick Funjet! Congrats. Do you have anywhere I can see your build details? Would be interested to see how you mounted the motor and what reinforcements you've done. Cheers
Those are some _crazy_ speeds!
Wicked fastt! Never thought a prop wing could reach this kind of speeds. Congrats!
Thanks mate!
Yeah but you have to use a small diameter prop with steep pitch and insane amounts of watts..
Pulled around 350amps peak while testing on the ground with the same prop as in the video, a 5x7".
@@SLINGSHOTandMOLOTOWS Thats insane! What happens if you use a regular wing motor and try to pull that kind of power, would the motor burn out?
@@vektr6278 yes it would start burning before you even reach mid rpm's.
I use a leopard lbp3674-2.5d(2650kv) 4-pole 1/8scale truck motor in this plane and a 6s lipo

Hi man, can you help me with PID on inav ? what values do you use? my funjet shakes on the roll over 130/150 km / h
Looks really nice man! What motor-prop combo dou you have on it?
Leopard lbp3674-2.5d v1 2650kv motor, 200a banggood red brick esc and 5.5x7 propeller(cut down 7x7 graupner speed prop)
@@SLINGSHOTandMOLOTOWS Thank you and what Flightcontroller and battery did you use? Like how many mah? Thank you

This is helpful. I have my maiden today. Funjet Inav FPV but with less power.
Hello
Do u know what high this drone can reach?
@@ladno_ladno4361 Actually several thousand meters, I haven't flown higher than 2 km yet because there's nothing there, almost like space.
@@BBFPV thanks
Congratulations!
Thanks mate but Rupert beat me with a turbine at 502kmh. But im still the fastest with electric👍
Dang it's fast, but dang it's bumpy. Was it windy or just a function of airframe design?
Its the speed and turbulence, it was only around 4m/s winds, mabey a little more. If you fly at higher altitude its smooth
OMG ... that´s really "next level 🔥🚀" 😝💪💪💪 ...
Thanks mate! Rupert White (OMEGOOLIEBIRD) beat me with 508kmh but I still hold the "one mile challenge" record 👍
@@SLINGSHOTandMOLOTOWS so cool 😝💪. I keep my fingers crossed for you that you get it 🏆🥇 back ✊✊
C'mon :D thats not a 441km/h ! I mean... it is, but its A DIVE! No one measures speed at the end of dive ! As soon as you started level flight, your speed dropped way below 400 km/h and kept falling with the same battery voltage . You level flight starts at 378km/h at 3.27v per cell and about 4 seconds later you have 325/h at 3.26V per cell.
I recon this setup can do 300km/h + at level flight, but not much higher than that . Which is still very very fast.
👍👍
Estimate 300-350kmh completely level flight?
can you tell me what OSD you use?
inav fc so there is an fc chip in the flightcontroller
This. Is. Nuts.....
Thanks sure is mate
What motor, prop and esc are you use?
Leopard hobby 3674-2.5D 2650kv, graupner speed 7x7 cut down to 5.5x7, red brick 200A from banggood with bigger heatsink glued on and heatshrink removed with 10awg wires, turnigy heavy duty 4000mah 6s lipi
@@SLINGSHOTandMOLOTOWS I have a question... Since you cut down the prop.... Doesn't that affect the pitch? Is the pitch really still 7 after cutting it down?
@@ammo193 yes the pitch stays the same, i could not find a small enough prop with 7 inch pitch so I had to modify a bigger one. The pitch is just the angle of the blades.
@@SLINGSHOTandMOLOTOWS OK buddy... Another question after all these months, you used the leopard 2650kv at 6s. There is a 3270kv of the same size and brand and can work at 5S! I did the math and that said motor will reach higher kv.... So why not do that instead of 6s 2650kv? Thanks 😊
How much is that in miles?
Dude you stupid? 274mph
motor?
Leopard lbp3674-2.5d v1 2650kv, 200a banggood red brick esc
Hey man, I hope you are well? Not seen you post anything for a while. I am having a crack at this record again tomorrow. Very high chance of failure.. using 14s at 9kw this time 7x14 prop. Taken an age to get it all ready after the last catastrophic failure. 441kmh is going to be hard to beat! Will be measuring pure ground speed not 3d speed.
Hey mate yes Im still alive😅 awesome, love to see it. With that setup, if it holds up the record should be yours. Good luck mate and kerp me posted. Havent been able to fly much, lots of project going in other directions. But hope I be back at the field soon when I get more time.
Yeah pure ground speed is probably the best to do, then you dont have to be 100% level and alt wont have too much effect
@@SLINGSHOTandMOLOTOWS 509kmh today mate.. Sorry! Your record took some time to beat though!
@@OMEGOOLIEBIRD Congratulations mate! Awesome job, thats even faster than the Jet run you did👍 Do you know how many watts its pulling in the air. It is truely how you put it, at those speeds is almost like flying through water. The amount of power stepup per km/h is insane..
@@OMEGOOLIEBIRD amazing job Rupert!! Congrats 😁😁😁👏👏👏
Looking forward to the video m8!
You should also claim the title for biggest power loop
Mabey it is the fastest inverted split S, the plane hit 19G's in that turn.
Sorry was refering to this video.

@@SLINGSHOTandMOLOTOWS that is so awesome!
Hi, Prop ?
Graupner speed 7x7 cut down to 5.5 inch
@@SLINGSHOTandMOLOTOWS Thank you, and which battery do you use? I am collecting the same Funjet like yours). Leopard and ESC are already there. Facebook group?
its fast, but airspeed was less than 440kmh
Yeah it was, this is ground speed, not airspeed
Pretty awesome. BUT you should change the title. You cannot claim a speed record unless it's flat flight, and you need to go both directions to account for wind.
I changed now to what it really is, its a ground speed world record for fpv planes. Using the wind and going one way is fine for a ground speed record.
@@SLINGSHOTandMOLOTOWS you've got it backwards lol
@@SLINGSHOTandMOLOTOWS I'm really not trying to hate... I've been exposed to the technical side of speed records.
You haven't posted the ground speed, it was a vector speed on the OSD, at the bottom of a dive. It's stinking fast, yes, but you can't claim a record with this run.
Hate to burst your bubble, but if you really want to see fast, then try a RC GLIDER doing 548 miles per hour, no FPV, NO MOTOR, just dynamic soaring... now thats fast. (search dynamic soaring world record)
I seen it, i think even faster speeds than that. My bubble is still intact
@@SLINGSHOTandMOLOTOWS yeah the glider thing is pointless. Ask them how fast they can go with zero wind. haha
