    Man that was action packed from the hand launch into a vertical spiral take off and lightning fast passes to the all out sprint to put out the fire!! I’m sorry about the plane but that was entertaining!! 😂😂😂

      Say very kool video.i also have the fun jet my 1st flight was about 13 years ago...lol I'm ready for my 2nd flight... how much throws do they recommend for these jets. I know your into 3D... I'm just flying it normal with a lot of speed . When I flew it the 1st time it was really aggressive. Haven't put it in the air since.

      Yes it would! It is extremely loud. Video doesn’t do it justice LOL it is completely rebuilt new ESC just came in a few days ago I have to solder it up and ready for round two. But it is going to get even more power very soon! I might just start over and build a complete new one because this one has been repainted and repaired a few times it’s heavy! I’m going to a 14s power system next!

    Whoa. I fly a Flex Innovations Pirana around at less than half the speed (seemingly) of this Funjet. And THAT intimadates me lol. I'd lawn dart this bullet in under 40 seconds. Very cool bird done well!!

    Hello Mate. This is awesome. I owned about 8 of the older grey Funjets Ultra #1. Running the 6s setup with the 1900kv Hobbyking EDF motor. Some just failed inflight during heavy turns. Do you have any build pictures available? I would love to copy. Any instructions you can give on the fiber glassing process will help to get it so shiny without any defects.

      Hello! Thank you. The Funjet is a awesome airframe and can do some great speed with modifications. I do have pictures from the original build if you send me a email I can email them to you. westhobbiesrc@hotmail.com I’m actually about to start anther build here very soon and I’m going to video it step by step. I’ve built over 10 of these and each one is better and stronger and faster. New one will be ALOT faster and more powerful. The first step is to sand and smooth the airframe. Get rid of all mold marks and dimples. Them fill any and every mark or dip in the airframe. I use plastic wood or any light filler. Then clean and lay 3/4 oz and 2oz cloth and fiberglass. I also made solid balsa elevons and hard wood into the trailing edge before fiberglassing. The biggest weak Point is the trailing edge and elevons. After all glass work is done I sanded again and sprayed filler primer to build the surface and wet sanded that all down till I was happy and smooth then painted it.

    Well built man, give it another try, which motor was used and how many amps were you pulling? I am using same esc in my current funjet 6s build with the sk3 1900kv motor

      Thank you! It was a fun build, and each one I build better and better and stronger and stronger. The motor in this one is a surpassed boat motor 2400 KV with a 7 x 7 prop peak amperage was just under 300. I’ve got two more NIB I’m going to build anther one and do a 14s setup in.

    I’m looking to make an incredibly fast 6s fun jet, I was looking at the HET EDF motors, which one would you recommend?

    • @westhobbiesrc8051
      @westhobbiesrc8051  Год назад

      You need a 36mm motor and around 1900kv. 7x7 prop, depending on how fast you want to do.

      @@westhobbiesrc8051 so would the 28mm motors not be suitable then?

    • @westhobbiesrc8051
      @westhobbiesrc8051  Год назад

      @@sams0748 it would work but not be incredibly fast, you want a 36mm for the torqued the motor to push that bigger prop. 28mm motors would need a 5x5 prop or so and it will make a lot of noise but not go anywhere. In running a $50 boat motor 36mm 2600kv (you can get them 1900kv) but any 90mm EDF is 36mm so there is a lot of Choices out there to choose from.

      You can but it will take a lot of modifications to make it like this one. It started it’s life as a multiplex Funjet but it’s fully fiberglassed and wing core cut down 1/4in thinner as well as shaved airframe and solid balsa elevons and hard balsa trailing edge. Carbon in the nose and carbon pins In the rudders
