Joke besides, most of the road-going version of the race cars have more power since there are no regulations to limit the power output. Also, what race cars need is never a million horsepower but a good combination of grip, speed and reliability, it's better to have less horsepower but can use them all instead of having insane horsepower but have terrible wheel spin at every corner exit.
Dauer did this with Dauer 962LM road car too. Road car had much more horsepower and much higher top speed than racing variant. This is due not needing so much downforce on roads and not having to comply with requlations (we can't blast cars 200km/h on normal roads to a corner can we haha).
Fun fact:from what I've heard,the 800hp is not it's intended power,the original hp number was 1000hp,but the owner just straight up said,no and almost all the cars were scrapped,the last one is downgraded to only 800hso people could control it
It's my favorite front-engine car. I'm not much of a fan of front-engine cars, but I love this thing, and the GT1 version looks so awesome. TVR found a way to make a front-engine car look as exotic as a Ferrari F50. I respect the genius.
The Cerbera Speed 12 was so overpowered in Project Gotham Racing 2, that Bizarre Creations issued a free DLC download of the car just to balance everything out online.

I remember that car from good old Gran Turismo 2. I took it to the test circuit one day. In the steep cuves, this car would simply lose all contact to the ground and just haul ass through the air. I would literally take off and crash horribly. It seemed impossible to control, when fully tuned.
Adjust your final drive towards acceleration just like purple told us, and then adjust your 1st gear to speed until it covers all the other gears, and then adjust the other gears until 1st gear won't cover them
Fun fact: this car’s engine had a compression ratio so high that it was impossible to use any kind of forced induction, or else it would violently explode after going above 5000 rpm.

The 1988 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Super with the Racing V8 engine swap (I know you're against them but it's for a reason) is an amazing machine. Paint it up like the car from Daytona USA and it can absolutely obliterate everything on a straight line, but it suffers a lot on corners. It has it's own unique tire upgrades to make it look like a stockcar too.
this was one of the greatest what-if cars (imo) when it came to production cars at the time. if this wasn't let go and forgotten, i think this could have been on the level of mclaren f1 fame and turned into one of those cars that tons of people would have on their wall and no one would ever stop talking about, such as again, the mclaren f1.

I use to drive this thing in Forza Motorsports 2. Ever since I tried this car my first ever race with it was a shitted pants, wheel spins, drag, crash crash crash, drift in a freaky Frankenstein way , and nightmarish warp speed that a Little kid like me at the time would cry just racing in it. Now it's just another fast cars I can drive around in without having to worry about much of anything but racing in it.
True fact Tvr started at 1945 as an engine company till 1997 when the company bought out Marcos when the almighty Tuscan were made Then in 2001 the Griffith was made and also the canabera speed 12 then in 2007 they remade the canabera and Griffith but they also allowed to build the Tuscan then now the Griffith mk3 was made with a lil help from Vauxhall
When you say fun fact I'd expect it it be a fact. TVR was founded in 1947. The mk2 TVR Griffith was produced from 1991 and the TVR Chimaera was produced from 1992 . The TVR Cerbera was produced from 1996. Then the speed 12 was based off the Cerbera.

In some extremely niche cases you might even want to _downgrade_ the power - for a small-scale example from the RC racing hobby, the Traxxas Jato benefits from swapping the overpowered TRX-2.5 for smaller, less powerful .12 ci engine, and a transmission swap to a single-speed setup rather than the stock two-speed centrifugal automatic. This plus a good set of tires results in FAR less wheelspin and a FAR more controllable vehicle, at the expense of not having quite as much top end - not that you need that in a stadium truck.
Tvr isn't the least British, British car brand. Most British car brands that don't focus on luxury, tends to be light. TVR just adds power, and unreliability... but then really, unreliability is just a British thing.

I have an X-class Cerbera Speed-12.... It's an absolute monster. It can get to 230mph in a around 15 seconds due to the gearing. (you don't really need any higher unless you're trying to go for a really fast speed trap.) Needless to say it's pretty much speed incarnate.
Nope, it's one of a few production cars that were made in 2000. The 2003 car was then made out them and the track-only car(s) that was used in British GT Championship in the early 2000s, IIRC.
