Just think, what if he is actually breaking ties with his best friend because he is sick of Xingqiu's pranks. Sure, Xingqiu's all like 'they're just friendly jests haha', but those jest actually hurt chongyun's feelings since he is quite serious about exorcising a ghost, and overcoming his yang constitution. His friends (expecially Xingqiu and Hu Tao) making fun of that is like kinda toxic and immature.
I'm just sick of the fandom making their relationship all "uwu gay romance", when there's actually an imbalanced power dynamic at play here. I'm not hating on the ship, just saying that people also need to notice this and not make these characters ooc.

Honestly, fanifcs are such are the ones emphasizing and assuming that the pranks are toxic and immature. I don't think Chongyun honestly minds it that much and just goes with it, he can be dense but honestly, they've literally grown with each other. He most likely got used to it already. Even if it's immature they are still teens, so it should atleast be expected.
