Unboxing: CZ 75B Retro

- In this unboxing video I take a look at the new CZ 75B Retro. This is a small release (1000 units) that brings back a few of the classic stylings of one of the most iconic guns of the 20th century. CZ wanted to try and capture this pistol's roots but also keep the ergonomics and build quality modern. As I am kind of late to CZ collecting, I knew I had to get this when I saw it. I am glad it is part of my collection now.

Love CZ's.
They are great pistols.
I am about to pull the trigger on CZ 75 Compact and I love this retro version. You are lucky to have found it, it's now on my handguns to-find list !!
Love cz75b I got 1911s berettas and walthers but every time I open my safe box I always take my cz just for contempt this beautiful design, to my opinion this particular pistols are ones the best ever design on the history of hand guns.
I can appreciate that point of view for sure!
Good morning, Jason, the CZed 75 was our starting CZed, we had that model then the CZed 85. I will agree with you, it is one very cool pistol, Cheers
Thank you Andrew. I am glad we agree! =)
If you are not in Europe it is CZ. If you are European and pronounce Z as zed, then it is CZed. Come on man,……..
Great looking gun! CZs are my favorite. I hope I can pick one up before they’re gone.
There are still a few floating around
I just picked up my Retro today. Such a beautiful gun. Got it for $611 new - fantastic price on these currently.
Wow! Great price!
Amazing price! Like to know where did you found the Retro for only $611?
I only see them for 1200 on gunbroker
As you know, the CZ-75 was born in 1975. In 2015, CZ released a 40th anniversary model. 2025 will mark the 50th anniversary. I would venture to say that they will probably do a commemorative run for this special occasion.
I think you are probably right.
I really like the milled aluminum grips. They feel good in my hand.
That is good and I am glad they works well for you.
Man, I wish that this pistol is shipped in the paper box they used for the early Pre-B CZ 75 back in the 80s. The box that says "CZ MOD. 75 AUTOMATIC PISTOL 9MM CAL"
That would be a nice touch
Love it and the retro must be there 1 of 1000
Yes it was a limited run
Just ordered one from PSA, for under $700 with shipping and tax. Can’t wait to see it.
That's a great deal! Congratulations!
Love the cz75 I want one bmodel good review htown looked up rifle gear they had them 500 an some change sold-out bmodel
Awesome find! The pre-B aesthetic is genuinely my favorite! My standard 75B will have to do till I can un-peasant myself.
Thank you! I love the looks of it too.
Be happy with your 75B.
At least it's a true original, not such a weird pseudo-retro collection of parts.
Very cool. I’m just waiting for FN to make a genuine “Retro” Browning Hi Power. I’d buy five of them!!!!
I would too. I would want the original style markings too.
Thanks for sharing
Absolutely!
I do like the roll marks but other than that, a decent homage.
I agree. It is interesting and cool. I am still glad I got it.
It’s a real nice gun..I have a CZ 75D PCR, love it, put a Cajun Gunworks Trigger Job on it and some Dawson Precision sights. thought about having Cajun mill it and drop a Holosun 507K RD , but I lose that back sight, and it works great so…decisions, decisions.
Yeah, that's the problem when you start doing so much. The options are endless
Very nice !
Thank you
I love cz 75 pistol
They are classics.
It interests me! Would love to have it!
You might be able to find a few floating around out there.
Several years back CZ released a very similar pistol they called "the Cold War Commemorative" or something like that. It had the same configuration and spur hammer as this "Legend" version, but it was marked to suggest military use by the old Soviet Red Army. In point of fact, no version of the CZ-75 was used by the regular armed forces of Communist Russia, though Hollywood has suggested at least twice that the KGB and Spetsnaz paratroops carried them. (Two movies, "The Sum of All Fears" and "Red Dawn", and possibly "Gorky Park") This Cold War pistol had a stamped and enameled red star on the side and the SNs are had "CCCP" as a prefix.
I think I have heard of those. Great information! Thank you.
Very nice, I like it. I have the Pre-B, made in the 80s. That retro version is very close to the Pre-B, slightly different sights, slide stop, safety, and finish. But, a faithful looking reproduction. I would bet that it doesn't have the magazine retention plate, as I have the CZ 75-B as well, which doesn't, but that's just a guess.
That is so cool! I would love a pre-B!
Yep, if you get ahold of one, hang onto it. It's a smooth shooter. I don't think it has a firing pin block, so you have to be careful, but very nice and historic gun.
It's a awesome pistol
Yes it is. I like it a lot.
I've had mine for a few months and love it's stability. Not happy that it actually says RETRO on the side, but it IS the "Rally Vincent" model. 🤣
Lol! Yeah, that rollmark could have been avoided.
CZ 75B the king of 9mm
I can see why many feel that way.
@@thetexasgunvault The most accurate guns I've ever shot ;
1. CZ 75 B 9mm
2. FN STANDARD 7,62mm
3. Benelli SuperNOVA shotgun.
Love my 1995 model.
They are really nice.
It’s cool 😎
Thank you so much!
I didn't know they were only making 1,000 units! Or I would have got one myself. The hammer and rounded trigger guard are the two most distinctive differences.
Still, nice gun, good investment too!
Thank you so much. If you look around, you can still find them.
I got mine for 675 on gun broker, it was a misslabel on their part and I scored on it.
That is an amazing deal! Congratulations!
@@thetexasgunvault Thank you! Im apocalypse ready lol
Do you recommend cleaning a new cz before using it? Did you do so?
I don't think it matters but I always clean a gun first.
If it is a limited run I would be interested. I have a safe queen p80 also. BNIB untouched.
Me too!
Neat gun! Love my CZ-75 Compact!
They are great pistols
So is this a DA/SA that can be cocked and locked?
Yes
@@thetexasgunvault I just realized the regular P01 and SP01 with the safety work this way as well. What have I been doing with my life?
Does thar barcode on top of the slide come off?
Yes. It just peels off.
@@thetexasgunvault Thanks!
My gun store is selling 1 for 1,099.99. It’s been sitting there for months
That is a couple of hundred more than many other places were asking when they came out.
I just bought one for $545.00
I don’t think the gun store realize what it was.
Can these take 15 round CZ mags?
Yes. They are compatible with all modern CZ magazines.
I have a CZ 75 from 1986, does it make any difference. greeting
That is a cool early one. Is it a pre-B model?
@@thetexasgunvault Yes, before B
Looks like my Bul Cherokee impact
Those are nice
Well, because the BUL Cherokee's design was based on the Tanfoglio TZ75, which was a clone of the CZ75
If anyone wants to buy a CZ75b Retro, just buy the one listed in the California roster 🤣
I am sorry you have to live under that stupid law.
I wouldn't call this very collectable, they are still available to order from distributors. The RETRO stamping on the slide kills it, better off looking for a quality pre b.
I totally understand where you are coming from. I guess with a lot of things, only time will tell.
Very nice gun.
Thank you
@@thetexasgunvault am thinking to buy a cz. Sp 01 shadow cause is lighter than shadow 2 . Yours is lighter than sp 01? Whats y r opinion?
In my eyes, what makes it a collectible is how weird it looks from the factory.
The B slide on a pre-B frame, but with B slide release and safety lever, yet a pre-B hammer, and the grip design from the first series (except for the modern logo).
Any 75B is more genuinely "RETRO" than that pistol will ever be, no matter how big they cringe it on the slide.
Sorry, man. I'm sure it's still a great pistol. (How could it not be?)
But I just hate such pointless limited editions and "re-issuing" modernized versions of classics.
I totally get where you are coming from.
