Thank you for teaching. I am wondering if you create about Solo(Melody) side more than chords.
There's a marriage between the melody and chords. Here's a good video about that. ruclips.net/video/hqIuKLjmiTc/видео.html
Kent, is it possible to create a sheet on your finished product? Thx!
Hi Kent
I have a suggestion for you sir: Could you start a serie of videos teaching the most important jazz scales. This would be a great learning oppurtunity for peaople who want to learn the basics of jazz!
Thanks for the suggestion. I have a jazz scales playlist...17 videos I've made on jazz scales. ruclips.net/p/PLFuMibnl_h5aW6gJP9I6agqkEaggaynVC
I have a chapter in my book about the most important scales for jazz improvisation. I'll keep your suggestion in mind for a new series. There's so many scales...to start out with just a few of the most important ones could be a challenge.
I love your videos! Bill Evans is my favorite. However, I'm wondering if you plan on doing an Ahmad Jamal video since he passed recently.
Good suggestion ! Especially since KH has conveyed the feeling and Ahmad Jamal style so well in many recordings, as in "Music ! Music"
and trio recordings. Here, KH sounds a lot like Bill in 1964 or so ! Even though I don't think Bill recorded "Heartache," he loves Billie related material I think. Also: Bill's rootless voicing concepts seemed to de pioneered by the early Ahmad Jamal Trio, I think ?
This is a nice suggestion. I did an Ahmad Jamal tribute, and a number of those cuts are on RUclips. I talked a little about Ahmad's playing in this video.

Also I talked about Ahmad's left hand comping in this video:

I never realized the chromatic motif that runs through some of Bill Evans’ work; like on Israel, Witchraft, & Someday my prince will come. That’s a nice observation 14:12
Yes, he uses that a lot...and it's kind of unique the way he uses it.
Ha ha Kent, sounds much better compared to your real piano.
It might be because of the recording technique....there's no mics used and it's always in tune, but the acoustic grand basically sounds better.
@@KentHewittpiano88 Yes sir, the real piano sounds much better with resonance, but the digital piano is always in tune.

Re: "Jazz ranch south", might I suggest "jazz plantation". 💩
Thanks!
Looks like Hilton Head S.C. from the back drop.
Glad you like it!
