I agree because I have low porosity and low density hair so the mouse really gives me lots of body and fluffiness to my twist outs!

I use a curl cream and then I put mousse on afterwards. The combo gives me volume, moisture, and hold..
I'm 61 years old-school. I love the mousse side. I prefer natural shine and sheen of my hair and the natural looking soft, bouncy curls I get with foam. I also use it to refresh. I personally don't care for the fake "wet" looking shine of gel, I don't care for the crunchy cast, plus gel weighs down my 3c, fine, low density, low porosity hair. Glad to see some of you "youngsters" might be hopping on the mousse wagon. ;)

The mousse side is litty!! I'd use a different gel for a real comparison because KCC always makes ppl's hair look a little jheri curlish.

I’ve been mousse squad for a while now. My hair is too fine for gel. I get crunchy ramen noodle hair and NO VOLUME with gel
Yes gel for a wash n go for my fine thin hair just doesn't work. I need that volume.
What mousse do you use. I'm going to journey into the wash and go realm and I'm a fine hair girl as well. Also most gels make my scalp itch and I would like to avoid it as much as possible.
Have you tried synergy mousse yet? If not please try the whole line you will love it.

I love your channel I been natural for 4 yrs going on 5 I’m still learning how to define my curls and figure out what drying out my hair.
Maybe you could try stronger mousse, you know the ones with the shaving cream dispenser? These new "foams" I see on the market don't foam up very much. There's one called Sebastian Mousse Forte which is a strong hold mousse that has a thick foam when it's dispensed, if you want a crunchier hold.
Love this video! And I LOVE the mousse side, I love how voluminous it is! BUT i totally get liking the shine on the gel side, I also personally like gel and a little crunch. But I feel like maybe you could get a shine spray of some sort to put on the mousse side so that way you have the volume and the shine! Plus adding in that moisture :-)

Thank you so so much for this video. I go to a professional once or twice a yr (been natural for 4 years) and she said she's noticed my porosity change and my hair becoming dryer over time. We think it's the gel from all the wash and gos over 4 yrs. I need a gel alternative so now trying the mousse!!! I want to use creams underneath for more moisture but I am hoping this is the solution.
The mousse side is definitely better and curls are way more defined and is more natural than the gel side

I love KCKT, but wow... mousse for the win! I need to grab some ASAP. I love day 1 volume and a 5-day wash and go has always eluded me (even when using gel).
Me too… what do you do with it on day 2? It never looks the same … it’s always stiff from the gel and shrink up to my head in a fro🤣
@@bellamb7313 lol. lately, I’ve been using Uncle Funky’s Daughter curling gel. Bc it keeps it so hydrated, I can just refresh with water and a little more gel if I need more definition.

Kelsey T ok, I’ve never tried that brand of mousse. I’ve been using a mousse by the brand Synergi and it’s lovely. Leaves hair soft, moisturized and with crazy definition.
Prissy Curls ooooh never heard of that one. I may have to try that one after I use up my design essentials to compare. 😌 I think a lot of them on the market are pretty much leaving the hair moisturized and defined. I use to use the Mielle Organics mousse and it was pretty good also.
I'm a gel girl cause I get more hold and definition and it lasts longer but the volume on the mousse side is amazing. I usually stretch my wash n gos to get volume.

Gel dries the hell out of my hair and shrinks my hair like crazy, it also makes my curls super small but it last longer than mousse. But I'm felling that day 1 mousse. In about 3 days it will be frizz central with the mousse
So gel is then the cause that could dry your hair out and also cause the curls to dry up smaller? I think I have this also..

I swear it’s a lot to learn about natural hair. I learn something new everyday. Gel leave my hair hard because of the protein. I wish there was some protein free gels
There’s plenty of protein free gels out there. Example, Kinky Curly curling custard
They both look good. Gel makes your hair look darker. Mousse side is AWESOME to me. That's just my opinion.
The ID texture moss gives a lot of shine

Kinky curly forever and ever we literally have the same hair I have never used mousse I have always been scared but I rock the hell out of my wash and goes so I need my kinky curly plus I go to the gym everyday I love the way the gel works for me for the week

yeah, right now the mousse looks better, but you know that the gel will keep your hair perfect all week long. it has better hold and is harder to mess up
Kinky Curly.. I haven't used it in what seems like a bizillion years. I think I may revisit that gel soon..
Maybe use the "Knot Today" detangler from Kinky Curly as a leave-in instead of the curling custard (since it is basically just a lightweight version of the custard) & follow with the mousse & see if that gives you the moisture the botanica gel provides with the fluffiness/volume of the mousse 🤷🏾♂️??
I like the gel because I think it will last longer. I see the mouse will become frizzy faster.

Both sides are beautiful. I have always been natural except for colour. I have dyed my hair every color under the sun save green. I loove mousse. It's light. I only use mousse and nithing under. My hair is fine.
