Hey Brenden, I am a fan of your dissemination of information about rugby. Related to this video, it could be an interesting exercise to predict which players will be able to play in the 2027 RWC and what leaders from this group would remain. The team will need a major rebuild as the average forward age is 32 now.

Think Am and Pollard are better prepared to play than Siya

@@Wolf-hh4rv Pollard plays for Leicester Tigers in England's Premiership Rugby. He has been out for 5 months and strained his calf during his recovery recently. Had Pollard not strained his calf again, I would put him ahead of Am and Siya, but unfortunately, that didn't happen. Nienaber said this week in an interview with Brenden Nel that Pollard's physical performance on a weekly basis is 20% of where it needs to be, and at most 50%.

@@AK-wc9rl Kolisi and McCaw have/had very different roles in terms of leadership. NZ players/captains do not have a thought about politics and race in context of the their career. People from other countries generally dismiss the effect social issues have had on our national teams, but has always been massively destructive...hence the turbulence over the years and exacerbated performance fluctuations (both administrative and on-field).

@@chris5240I reckon Tana Umaga and Ardie Savea will probably disagree with you. Captaining the All Blacks probably meant different things for them than it did for MCCaw, so I wouldn't say race /politics doesn't play a role for all NZ players/captains. I mean why is there a "Maori" All Blacks side?

@powerbite92 Good point and it's weird.. something seems a bit different with SK. Don't get me wrong - he's a superb guy but if you pay attention to what he says in several interviews he's always being asked the same types of questions and his responses are generic : Always all about "the team, the shared leadership, the focus on rugby only, we only worry about what we can control, the privilege and not the pressure" etc. It's fairly scripted obviously but the sooner these in depth interviews are over the better and let's get into the business of rugby. SK and his family have made themselves into an influencer power brand since 2019 and he (we) need to get away from that now and just get the rugby party started. Go Bokke - make Mzansi proud guys!

Siya and the coaches have always been open and honest about the leadership of the Bokke, what more do you want?? would yould like him to act bravado and make it all about him?? the guy chooses to be humble and heaps the praise to his team mates and coaches too.. but to you that does not inspire confidence?? wtf more do you want from this guy?

@@redhowell7856 what do you want from this guy?? who are you to accuse him and his family of being power brand influencers?? who are you to decide and judge when to get the "rugby party" started? the party has long started and here you come along being judgemental of a world cup winning skipper? accuse him of scripted responses? what does that even mean? why do you just criticise as if he owes you better responses? the guy's first language is xhosa ffs, he has to think and look for words to respond, what do you want from this guy?? stop with the arrogance, and just support.. enough already.. and stop liking your own comments..

@@TheBokkeable Ho hum… the eternal conundrum.. Does one respond substantively to angry, emotional, insulting vitriol filled with assumption yet with little substance from someone who doesn't read properly or misses the point ? 🙄 Probably not … yaaaawn... boring 🥱
PS1: I said nothing about our Captain's choice of words or articulation. Despite what you think, Siya Kolisi is perfectly articulate and able to express himself and you should be ashamed of yourself by actually saying that because his first language is Xhosa he “has to think and look for words to respond”. Tsk tsk…
PS2: Never heard that one before about “liking my own comments” Thanks! I’ll definitely try it! 🤣🤣🤣

you say I should be ashamed for being truthful that he actually has to think of a response because he's responding in a language which is not his first?? why be ashamed for saying what's true??
you're the one who accused the Bokke captaing of having scripted questions thrown at him, dragged his family and accused them of some power couple agenda, decided to play the judge and said they should get on the rugby party, yet the Boks are already 4 test matches into the season already!... mate you go ahead with your emojis.. bye!
