The way he's an active listener and just not waiting for his turn to talk makes the biggest difference, especially when he asks questions that are both related to the point in the conversation and also you can tell if he'd interview them again, he wouldn't need to even ask the same questions. I feel like his empathy and attention to interpret their answers through their subtext and subtle details they convey is why he's been so successful podcasting.

I was at that mall appearance in Des Moines. It was at Valley West Mall and I was maybe 8. The line was so long that it went throughout the entire mall and I got right up next to where she was signing. I remember that she and the and adults with her looked so scared. My parents took me out of there because they said it was too much and they didn't want to be a part of the problem. Looking back, I'm really proud of them but at the time, I wept all the way home. She came back the next year and I got to meet her at a much more organized event. She was so nice and I've always been Team Jodie. Loved this interview.

Not many people are doing what you do... To openly address that we are all fucking human is, somehow, insane. This has to be the best podcast out there. I studied psychiatry, psychology, and philosophy... But Sickler, somehow, makes my education seem absolutely worthless. I mean that in the best way possible. To have an open dialogue with people unravels the most basic, intrinsic emotions without forcing some kind of reaction. I love this so much. Thank you for these discussions.
