Nikki and Steven should react to Lost
No spoilers, but in 2007 when they were making Season 1, it got cut short cause of a writers strike. That's why episode 7 doesn't really feel like a big finale. These first two episodes of Season 2 are really the proper finale to Season 1.

Yeah season 2 episode 2 feels like the proper ending. And everything after that feels like the real season 2
I know this is old, but I have just started watching the show recently, and this makes a lot of sense. To be honest, I didn’t even realize I was into season two when I was because I didn’t realize I had already seen the season one finale bc I usually watch several at a time

I don't think the sex is about distractions. It's more about dominance and power. Notice how every time he forces himself on Skyler it is right after a high stake situation, after he's done something dangerous. And since Walt has been such a meek pushover his whole life, with no real power over his own life, he now gets an incredible rush from taking control and doing something dangerous. We can assume he's been pretty submissive with Skyler before, so now that he feels confident and powerful he takes that out on Skyler, by establishing dominance in a carnal manner.
EDIT: This is perhaps even more true for the previous instances than this particular time. Here Walt is very stressed, pressed and scared out of his mind, so perhaps he is actually seeking comfort in Skyler. My point still stands for most of this type of behavior from Walt, though, and since I feel you've kind of missed this, I just wanted to clear it up.
Except in this episode Walt is scared out of his pants, literally... Skyler even says so, although she assumes it's because he is thinking about his cancer, whereas he is actually thinking about Tuco. He might not have the perfect relationship with Skyler, but in his mind Skyler and Walt Jr are his family and the reason he is going through this, they give him the strength to endure all this shit. I don't think that in his mind he is abusing her, but seeking comfort, something that makes him feel good, so he can escape his mind for just a moment and not feel scared. In short: This is the exact opposite of the previous "i feel good, let's prolong my high" situations, it's "i feel bad, let's make this low go away". Just look at his face when she turns him down, he goes back to being almost paralyzed by his fear again.

Add in the cancer and the stress of everything else in Walt's life and you've got yourself a neat little package of motivations for basically all of Walt's actions. I wasn't necessarily referring to just this particular scene. N&S have been talking about distractions every time Walt has done this, and it's been bugging me a bit, so now I finally took the time to write an explanation. I wanted to clear this up because I feel it's important to understand this going forward. I still feel my original comment is dead on for Walt's behavior and it's very central to the core of his entire character. While Walt is truly scared out of his pants here, there is a tiny bit of him that's enjoying it and prefers it to his old cautious life.
The fact that we all think that Skyler is supposed to be thinking that Walt is scared, but is unwilling to comfort him, made me a little angry at Skyler in this episode. She even said "I know you're scared, but you cannot take it out on me." Who should he turn to if he's scared, tho? Let's put aside the fact that WE know he's making meth, and dealing with Tuco - Skyler doesn't. She thinks it's because of the cancer, so where's the compassion; the empathy; the support? I'm not saying she should have given in to the sex, but at least stop him, then maybe sit down with him and talk, instead of coming down on him like that. I get that she's under a lot of stress too, and it's not good for the baby, but she could have handled that situation more compassionately. I get the feeling that Skyler has always treated Walt that way. 😊
@@angie-tq4ew skylar told him she would AFTER she takes off the face mask, she wasn't mad he was wanting comfort, she was mad at him being aggressive when she just told him to let her take off the mask first and get cleaned up. that is what she meant by saying, "don't take it out on me." was about the aggressive behavior NOT about the comfort, she comforts him, saying no to sex or how he went about the sex has nothing to do with her not having compassion, she has compassion.
So, I was super late to the Breaking Bad phenomenon by a couple of years. A lot was spoiled for me while I was in college so I never watched it. Ironically enough it was my Parents who told me to watch it it lol 😂. I was fascinated. My degree is in Acting and I also took several English and Script Analysis classes. This show here absolutely blew my mind by how phenomenal the cast was!!!! Absolutely brilliant!!! Buckle up House Sava... you’re in for a treat of some of the BEST television you will ever see! 💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛
I love the scenes with Hank and Gomez; we can view details of the drug business in a totally different way from Jesse or Walt.
Gonzo went back to get the guy from under the car cause he didn't want to leave him like that. While he was pulling him from under the car the stack shifted like it did when he first put him there and trapped his arm and he bleed out.

Although lots of BrBa fans hate Skyler, I personally think that most of her reactions aren't far from what our reactions would be if we had our partner acting all crazy like that, especially if you are pregnant. And Walter lied to her all the time but he was also dealing with cancer. The woman didn't have it easy.

I mean i think Tucos just jumping to the same conclusion that Walt and Jesse have; someone killed Gonzo and they're coming for him next. Walt and Jesse assume it's Tuco, and Tuco assumes it's Walt and Jesse

I would pay a million dollars to erase my memory and watch Breaking Bad all over again for the first time. This isn't even one of the top 25 episodes, and it blew my mind the first time I watched it. I couldn't believe they put Tuco in the backseat. I thought they would keep having him toy with them with the SUV showing up and watching them.
@Sally Vee Well, considering 60 out of 64 BB episodes are at least very good, but most are excellent, not making the top 25 is not a knock on the episode but more of a testament to how good the show is. Most of the top 25 episodes fall into seasons 4 and 5 (almost 20 of them). This is a great episode, though.

Whats up with all the SPOILERS today? People, stop giving SPOILERS to them and other people. At this point in the series, no one knows what is going to happen, so even general and vague spoilers, like (SPOILERS) "It only gets more brutal, dark and violent from here", and "every season gets darker and more violent" is giving away spoilers. It's really selfish to be revealing this stuff to them and other people who have no idea what to expect. At this point in the show, first time viewers only know what the show has shown them up until now at this point. They're going to watch the show anyway and on their own schedule; it's not like you're motivating them to stick with it by hyping it. If there is a moderator on here, you should really delete all innuendo and vague generality spoilers also. Breaking Bad is a show where viewers will not feel the full effect and impact if even the slightest hint of what happens is revealed. At this point, nobody would know that the show gets darker and more violent. It's really selfish that so many people can't help themselves on this video comment section. Up until now, there have been very few comments such as this for the previous episodes, but all of a sudden there are lots of them on this episode.

YO, SNOW...FYI: Doing meth, especially as much as Tuco seems to do, makes you super paranoid & makes you think & do crazy shit, but makes perfect sense to you. I've been around people like Tuco in my youth, it's extremely unsettling to say the least.

Tuco is an extreme version of someone tweaking. I should know, I was once held hostage (along with others) by someone just as paranoid as Tuco. On the bright side, they make fantastic mechanics!

Forgive me for this, but does ANYONE know/remember the episode where Hank first mentions the name Heisenberg while talking to Walt? I don't mean the season 5 episode cliffhanger Blood Money. I mean where Hank is talking to Walt casually and mentions that with a code name like Heisenberg, the guy Hank's looking for must know a lot about science.

This is a good point where I see part of why Skyler rubs me wrong.
While she makes a great point to Hank and really puts him in his place, _she_ isn't fully considering that Walt is going through the exact same thing, _plus_ adding to it: "I'm going to die.", "I can't help my family recover from this situation, because I'll be dead.", and "I'm not going to get to know my new baby, because I'll be dead."
To me, it feels like she's mostly focused on just herself, _her_ feelings, and her problems (similar to what's going on with Hank, ironically) relative to Walt's condition, with little genuine empathy toward what Walt is going through. And that's part of why I can't really stand Skyler. She acts like she's the biggest victim in all this situation, when from what I can tell this has quite literally broken Walter mentally and caused him to break bad to cope.
Skyler Sucks and not in a good way.
Not to tell you how to interpret the show, but it was pretty clear to me that Gonzo died accidentally moving No-Doze's body, but Tuco doesn't know that. Also Walt's sex drive isn't some sort of distraction, he's just acting more impulsively and being less passive.
Katie Hough walt usually tries to have sex after he goes through something exciting or traumatic. He forces himself onto her here because he wants to be comforted and knows sex is a good way to release pent up energy. So really he’s trying to have sex to come himself down in this instance
