A lot of the things Pika mentioned are reported bugs in the current TBC beta client. I feel bad for him running into almost every single one of them. :P
Hahaha brings soo many memories from TBC as a rogue. Sub was the best spec as you could still use 2 1-hand swords/maces. If you did it correct it was 'cheap shot - target dead'. If you used X-perl unitframes addon (Later on Z-perl) it showed the combo points alot better! But that is if they have it in this version of TBC. Combo points were slower, but if you calculated that in advance and had alot of stats, agi gems, enchants, you were unstoppable!
I kinda dig the fact that pika doesn’t mess with all the trickster aspects of pvp back then. Like swapping trinks and using engineering crap and bombs and such. He just uses what his class normally does and still does pretty well.

You may not agree with me but my opinion IS the most popular one, since Wrath PVP private server ppopulation consistently outnumbers BC servers by a LARGE margin. Wrath is the most popular PVP expansion in the private server community by large margin. It's not even close.

Wrath didn't have that instead had more fast paced gameplay WHILE keeping the classes unique and niche. The first season of wrath was extremely broken (machine gun dks) but by season 3 wotlk turned out to be a power house of a pvp expansion. I think we can all agree that blizzard has shit the bed overall with pvp balancing and while SL arena is fun (assuming you are playing meta) it has more issues and will continue to have them where as BC and WotLK is the Devil we know.

TBC is fun for a change but it really doesn't compare. Wotlk expanded on mechanics (like Ret getting Divine Storm, mana regen from Judgement, and a stun break on Freedom - as well as many proc mechanics we still have to this day, like Hot Streak for Mages & Art of War for Ret, and stacking buffs which give instant casts like Maelstrom Weapon for Enhance Shaman & Infusion of Light for Holy Paladin). You are correct about utility being more important in the early expansions. I absolutely loved being able to dispel magic debuffs like Polymorph or Fear with my Ret, or breaking a stun on an arena partner with my Freedom. Although there were overall less involved damage rotations in Wotlk, I still felt I had more to do because there was so much utility. Mastering your class wasn't just about trading cooldowns and knowing your damage rotation, it was literally using every spell in your spellbok for different situations, whether that be fearing a Death Knight during his Lichborne with Turn Evil (so he couldn't heal), or pre-casting Sacrifice on a partner as I got polymorphed so that it would break from the reflected damage on me.
Well to be honest, im currently playing retail and practicing TBC And nostalgia might be part of it, but the feeling to play your class is just better (i mean, rogue feels more like a rogue for exemple) also the fact that it's simple, some people dont really like complicated sh*t xD

I’m not sure how you think it would be possible for one of the best retail rogues to be bad on tbc, a much slower game.

As a rogue in TBC we learned to garrote instead of cheapshot and continue to bleed warriors, because they heal on stuns.
