Something tells me that sitting with these two would've been a laugh riot! It's sad knowing that Jerry is no longer with us.

Dick Van Dyke has been an inspiration to 3 generations of my family! My children were introduced to and love Jerry in the original, "The Courtship of Eddie's Father." Two masters at comedy, these gentlemen are priceless!

That's great, but maybe you should learn how to spell it now : Jemima. (And that'd be IN your school play.) Congratulations, though.

Dick was my first major crush (and still is), but when I saw Jerry in Reno in some small casino show room (1979) I actually peed my pants laughing.

Great interview, I'm a big fan of both of them, but he says his children haven't gone into show business. What about his son actor Barry Van Dyke? He has done several TV shows and they were even on Diagnosis Murder together.

It's funny how he said people refer to him as Dick's brother. That's how I always refer to him. I remember watching him in my favorite John Wayne movie, McClintock, and always said "hey, there's Dick Van Dykes brother"

  • @RodneyisGodney

What? Did Dick forget about Barry? His son, the actor? Barry, who costarred with him in Diagnosis Murder for all 8 years. Barry, who had a few of his own shows (Airwolf, Galactica 1980. Barry who has done movies and guest appearances in other tv shows. I love Dick Van Dyke but why didn't he mention Barry?

    • @PhoenixBird50

In July 2016, Dick Van Dyke said of Donald Trump, "He has been a magnet to all the racists and xenophobes in the country, I haven't been this scared since the Cuban Missile Crisis. I think the human race is hanging in a delicate balance right now, and I'm just so afraid he will put us in a war. He scares me." Van Dyke publicly endorsed Bernie Sanders as his choice for the Democratic candidate .

I always thought that Jerry was more funny than Dick. Dick had to work at it, where Jerry just let it happen and it always worked. Both are funny but Jerry in Coach, doesn't get funnier.
