Exploring Europe’s Northern latitudes onboard our 1974 Dufour 35. We left from Paimpol (France), followed UK's South and East coasts all the way to the Shetlands (Scotland), and crossed to explore the fjords of Norway. We then headed back home via Denmark and Belgium, for a total of 3,000 nautical miles around the North Sea. Not bad for a first sailing experience!

Petit tour de trois mois en Mer du Nord à bord de notre Dufour 35 de 1974. Nous sommes partis de Paimpol (France), avons longé les côtes sud et est du Royaume-Uni jusqu’aux Shetlands, puis mis cap à l'Est pour la Norvège. Nous sommes ensuite rentrés chez nous via le Danemark et la Belgique, pour un total de 3000 milles nautiques parcourus. Pas mal pour deux couillons sans expérience de la voile!

At the risk of paraphrasing many comments, your videos are "off the charts", an artistic identity and a technical mastery that has nothing to envy to professional reports. It's a shame that talent doesn't pay off (in terms of followers and views) as much as bikinis and other tutorials. Once again: "Bravo", I am bluffed!

This is by far the best introduction to sailing the north and the best film that I have ever seen... And trust me I have seen a lot of videos :) We have resently sailed our boat back from the Med to Denmark and now we are sure that we are going north over the coming years. Thank you so much for sharing your experience and good luck sailing in the future.
Beaucoup d’émotion à voir votre film car avec un ami aujourd’hui disparu nous avions fait quasi le même chemin avec un petit plan Van de Stadt en contreplaqué. J’ai le souvenir d’un petit matin les pieds dans la neige à regarder en bas notre bateau mouillé dans le Geiranger fjord… Merci, bise à vous…
C’était en 1976, Tabarly gagnait une transat très ventée dont une dépression nous avait touchée près d’Alesund (une des grosses frayeurs du voyage)…

I am a novice sailer, but I have the exact same boat, the majestic Dufour 35. Your gorgeous video is inspiring. Mine has a wheel but I’ve wanted to change to tiller. If you can sail the North Sea it must be good 👍

Is there any trees if you go closer to the middle of the small islands. What a place to feel one with are mother . . You wouldn’t even have to breath it all in. It’s all around you.
