Can't imagine zoom's time remnants actually allowing themselves to be killed by the original. A time remnant would still have the same sense of self preservation as the original who created them.
The time remnant is from the future so there shouldn't even be a need for convincing unless the time remnant was created on accident and learned his future is erased.
Yeah a person like zoom wouldn’t mind killing himself to gain his goals, like me when i play call of duty shipment hardpoint and that is a small map and i spawn with 2 molotovs and 1 gas, so i run and throw everything i got at the hardpoint where everyone is trying to get to, and i also walk on the fire that i threw and it kills me… but then i get to respawn again much faster and with another 2 molotovs and gas. So basically i kill myself on cod to spawn with unlimited molotovs and gas. I win most of the time😊

He did plan to kill his time remnant but solely to encourage Barry to be faster. The only thing that didn’t go according to his plan was the breach closing. Harry stabbing him really saved the team. That’s why his time remnant is so hesitant to throw the grenade into the breach but he still makes sure that Zoom can kill him so that at least 50% of their plan can be accomplished. Hence the “this is a complication” quote in the next episode. ;)

Jay's death was one of the few that did surprise me and it's one of my favorite death scenes in Flash simply because Jay actually looks surprised and it's believable

At one point in that season zoom opens a breach to earth 2 and team flash thinks they’re safe. then he somehow shows back up on earth 1..then team flash opens a breach and sends him to earth 2 and seals it but someone else gets pushed through with him so they have to decide if they’re gonna open another to save the person, but zoom is on the other side and he can’t open one back to earth 1, even tho he already did it earlier. So ya, there really is no straight answer.
People complain that Jay was an idiot for being too close. But remember: He’s the main villain. He meant for his “hero” self die after that point. They probably planned it this way.
Why do I like to think the Remnant playing as Garrick genuinely developed feelings for Caitlin and turned genuinely good but the main timeline of Zoom figured that out but killed him.

he went back in time for a second or so to have 2 versions of himself. they both exist at the same time because they don't have a further future yet. they are both experiencing it at their own, without effecting each others timeline. as soon as the original zoom killed the one he brought from the future he was the only one again, but it didn't have an effect because the remnant didn't do anything endangering original zoom's time line
Zoom went back in time and convinced himself to time travel and put on jay Garrick's costume and pretend to be him while he was still zoom . So that they would think he is jay Garrick
When X want to create his time remnant he travel back in time like 20 seconds and then stop his past-self before travel back, that would make that person become time remnant, X timeline would be: (Have a plan => Travel back=>Stop the time remnant=> continue). The time remnant timeline would be: (Have a plan=> Try to time travel=>Got stop by his future=>continue). The time remnant was created to fix the paradox so it kind of like an extra person and can be killed with killing X.
