Sgt. W, I think many of us are old school military dawgs, I highly suggest people purchase an iPad and learn to download information you need to know and read it, until you know it like the back of your hand. Keep talking to your terminal personnel and ask a thousand questions. Anytime you run into or fly with aircrews, ask the crew questions. Buy a calendar and keep an eye on your local terminal's schedule and you'll see a pattern of flights. The BX/PX has some great books and maps on Space-A. Great video Sarge CW, your recently retired C17 Loadmaster, March ARB. Riverside, Ca.

When I was active I used Space A to visit 27 countries on a A1C/SrA/SSgt budget.
I sent my leave orders to all AMC terminals (stateside & overseas) at midnight on the first day. It didn't matter if I intended to transit those locations or not, I still signed up to get the earlier time/date.
If I passed through a terminal, I'd resend them my orders so I can sign up again just in case I want to transit there later.
I missed two rotators from BWI, but got a C17 out of Andrews the next morning. As I was sitting in Andrew's terminal, Secret Service Agents walked in and told us President Obama was passing through and if we wanted pictures to follow them for a briefing and security check. I was able to get pictures of Marine 1, Air Force 1, Obama walking from the helicopter to the airplane, and it was a cool experience. Sending the orders to Andrews earlier helped secure a seat and being flexible gave me a once in a life time experience.
Space A is cool, just give yourself a buffer of a few days, sign up as early as possible and perhaps be willing to transit places you didn't plan on transiting.

Tons of flights to Hawaii, but you and your spouse can also travel go Guam. From there the Philippines and many other destinations become commercially affordable. Best of luck to you in your travels!

A ffriend of mine a 💯% DAV informed me that all depends on the Air Terminal. He stated he’s been able to fly to Europe as well as Japan out of Travis. He said just ask and you’ll be surprised. It maybe worth a try. There’s nothing to loose.✌🏾

U.S.O. is the great place to distribute Space A flight information so not leaking all over the internet endanger crew and pilot
