Your analysis has once again proven to me that BTS doesn't just create music that sounds pretty or pleasant. They create music with deep meaning, even if it often goes over my head haha.

It was interesting how you put all pieces together from bts' previous mvs. It's a good analysis of the mv bc you took time to go back and connect previous events so that it could make sense
I really appreciate you trying to make higher quality videos than just a reaction video. Of course reaction videos are fun when they are genuine. But I really admire the work you put in this video.
It all links together, Jin can’t keep going back in time trying to save the others because something always goes wrong. They need to LOVE THEMSELVES for the future to be happy. And when he’s trying to be someone else for this girl and it doesn’t work that links to the new ep PERSONA. You can’t keep going on with a persona you have to accept yourself and love yourself. I love the messages in BTS mvs.
map of the fucking soul at the end of this MV has me shook. They were ready for their next album series way back in early 2018 when this MV was made and conceived.

Words cannot begin to express how much this song means to me. I never thought K-pop would be worth a shot but I gave BTS a try and listened to Boy With Luv and I immediately fell in love and started to work back through their catalog. See, my life in the past 5 years have been a long, difficult 5 years. I lost friends, my parents split, I got diagnosed with major depressive disorder and generalized anxiety disorder, I'll spare you the sob story. I'd lost any self image I had and I just had no clue who I was. Slowly and surely things started to get better, though. Anyway I get to LY: Answer and I listen to Epiphany and Answer: Love Myself and I just stopped dead in my tracks and cried. Because for the first time I realized that to find myself was to love myself and accept myself for who I am. Ever since then, my life has gotten so much better. I'm forever grateful to BTS for their music and their message of self love and acceptance.

Anyone else seeing 'map of soul' at 3:21. BTS have planned out there whole career i'm convinced. they had just started their love yourself answer comeback but already ready for the next one make it make sense
I saw it and I thought the same HAHAH
basically, if you play the game and watch the game trailer, jin is ofc dealing with time and having to save the members from their tragedies, theres a cat in the trailer who speaks to jin (basically is the anchor to the time traveling thing) and jin asks "you know how to save them, how do i save them?" and the cat responds "you have to find the map of the soul", so the words in the epiphany video just explained what that is.
I start to listen BTS just for lucky, and i find a way to scape to depresion and sadness inside me for the situation in my contry, Although on the outside I try to be happy so as not to worry my family and my husband, there were days when I felt I could not do it anymore, their music arrived just in time to give me the strength to recharge energy and keep fighting to be better. Thanks to their videos I understand the meaning even better, they even help me explain to other friends who go through the same thing as me the beautiful message that the BTS songs have and that they are not just another band with no sense. Keep doing the work they do I love their videos and learn a little more about their culture which I find fascinating.
Well, i didnt know that the MV and lyrics were so deeper.

BTS' songs are so profound and deep. They are not just idols who sings bubblegum songs about love and crushes, but each lyrics has deeper and relatable meaning into it. As a foreigner, thank you for explaining their songs in a way that an outsider of the culture will understand. 😀

@@livial5704 well maybe. I'm thinking about this like how an author who writes sequels and stuff thinks. They usually have a rough plot figured out, and go into detail while writing it (at least the ones I know do). So maybe they had like a vision about what they were going to base their music on and went with that? and the finer details, like that last paragraph were added when they knew what they were going to base their next album off of?

But we all know that they plan everything a lot of time before it's release (Like the BU).
With that and what you said in mind, plus the fact that 2019 is "mirroring" 2013, I still feel like everything is planned, maybe not since 2013, but they really think about every details, long before it's released, and it's fcking amazing

I'm not a huge BTS fan but one can't deny that Epiphany is probably one of the great cuts in the album. Someone outta give JIN props because this man can sing and I'm not just talking about regular singing but singing as in hitting notes and riffs. Though I personally don't understand the lyrics until this video, you’ll get drawn to it because of the emotion poured on this song. The visual is also amazing and moving forward I do hope we get to hear more songs like this.
I'm so happy this series exist. I've mainly been getting the feel from the tone of the singer and the gist of the translations of the songs. So knowing the explanation of the lyrics really adds another layer to why I love the songs. Thank you so much!!

But I love that.
We all have different ideas of what different things in these MVs mean, based on our ideas and beliefs and experiences. Though none of them are exactly right, they aren't wrong. There's something beautiful about that.

What I like about BTS is that their videos have an individual meaning but If you relate one MV to the other videos it will bring a whole new beautiful story. It is art. I am from Brazil and the current Brazilian singers are taking a path that makes me so sad...
This explained series works so well with the love yourself story/universe of bts, because there’s so much depth and references on the songs that you actually need to be explain them. On some songs by other artists, this series might be a stretch. But thank you dkdktv!

He can rewind time, but no matter how many times he rewinds it always had the same ending of her ‘dying’(this might just be a symbolism of a bad result, it doesnt necessarily have to be a reality). But now he realizes it is fake love and he goes to end it by giving the diary which means him admitting/confessing he is not actually perfect and from now on he will just be himself, not acting to look good and loving by trying to be a person that fits the ‘diary’(can be a symbolism for social expectations etc). Plus his actions to satisfy and love the girl has ultimately pushed him away from the members which is a part of himself.

Many people say Kpop isn’t that deep, even stans. Yes, there’s some fun songs but many groups have so many hidden messages in MV’s, some lyrics could even have a double meaning, etc. I love how BTS always convey’s a message or even a full story with their music. It all seems to just be aesthetic but when you look into it, their music and MV’s are incredibly touching/powerful.

I believe that Jin wrote this before they'd renewed their contract and when they were thinking of disbanding, so there's a possibility that closing the curtains symbolized his trying to accept that that chapter of his life may be coming to a close, and distance himself from each of the other members so he could minimize the hurt in case they did go their separate ways.
Just my sleep deprived ramblings.

I think Epiphany was one of the MV where the “theories” were kinda obvious if you’ve been keeping up. Yet I’m so glad you explained it in such a manner that older fans, newer fans, non-fans can understand. Basically all the twitter/ig theories combine where it actually makes sense.
