Ported 562xp Versus Mini Toad Redwood

- New chain with one grind, not doing so good......... A little moist in the brush this day, and you can tell the bark is binding a fuzz. Were bumping up against the rev limiter occasionally - the bark is "helping" a wee bit here as well as the newness of the chain.
We were blessed with 3 long logs and a shorty out of this one. 32" at the first cut - not to shabby for a second growth.
It is nearly Christmas 2015, hope all is well with you and yours - blessings from the northern Cali coast!
I am currently available for port work. Please send an email if you are interested.

Thank you.
Watershed. I get the lw tear resistant version.
I bought them at a saw shop.
I imagine you can get them on line if you cannot find them locally.
Best of luck.
Thanks for watching.
I fell timber in Oregon back in the 80's and 90's. Sometimes I really miss it! I had an old timer help me set up my chain grinder, and with Oregon full comp chain it was unreal how it cut. Biggest I ever cut was 8 1/2 feet over near Tiller. Sometimes I watch these videos and start jonesing to cut. Ended up going civil service for the retirement, but if I could get the same benefits to fall trees, I would. Now I have to mountain bike ride for the adrenaline and conditioning instead.
bravo
Looks like you've got the right recipe to really make a 562 run like they should. With the way you like to port them, could you please share with me the compression you like to run them at? Thank you.
Compression and rpms are inversely proportional, that is what I will say. Tuners do not generally "brag" about their numbers.
Thanks for watching.
.
Hey Jack, what are the odds of you showing off a Dolmar 6100? I would think with the fuel efficiency and tank size it would make a great "small saw"
Good channel bra !!
StumpjumperVideos you wear a bra? thats sick
1970 olds442 yeah haha got man boobs, they call me pa Jenner lol
@ 4:28 !!!wtf lol don't ya hate that!
just an occasional firewood cutter but its on my bucket list to whack a redwood. wondering how much to "put the hurt" on a 288xp?

What year is that saw? Is that one of them that has Hot Start problems?
Roger hi.
It changes once they are zipped. But to answer your question, it was initially.
In stock form, they seen to need ~ 8/10 pumps on the primer bulb to get some fresh/cooler fuel in the carb. Choke on for one pull then choke off. Seem to start a lot better that way.
Thanks for watching.
(Jed... not Emma)
Dan: I think by, "Toad," he means what guys in Washington call a "Pig," that is, a nice fat little (2nd growth) tree.
Jack: Good to see you back! Why the long Sabbatical, brother?
+Emma Walters Punkin - "pumpkin" from a butt works as well.
Dying unto myself to meet her needs.
Thx for watching!
Another interesting video. Keep them coming.
What does the term 'Toad' mean?
+Dan Hargrave Dan West coast fellers lingo for a fatty, or a big stick.
+stevencroon haha thanks for the update!
Your chains always appear very sharp, despite you often stating that they're not. I'd be keen to see one 'super sharp'...
Top top of engine from 562xp fits to 560xp?
Do you notice these newer huskys have tighter tolerances and need brake in time? My newer 385xp and 575 took cutting 20 cords to come alive and break in.
Bill hi. No, not really. Every once and a while one comes through with the old "normal". I was yaking about a 390 piston in the last bench talk video coming "out-da-box" with a sloppy fit with the cylinder.
The new smog saws all have sloppy tolerances cold because they run hot and as far as I know, the material is the same as the older pistons. Running at a higher temp = more expansion from a physics perspective. So the saws do need to be that way to a degree.
Now enter in changing the flow characteristics of the engine (porting) with the engine running a little cooler and now we are back to loose tolerance. I had some pistons made to combat this in one saw. Currently waiting on the same for a few other models.
Thanks for watching.
Not being in the logging industry what does the term “toad” mean. I hear you use that term but don’t know that term means.
n3qdz hi. "Biggin'". Thanks for watching.
hotsaws101 ahhh gotcha! Love the lingo now it brings a whole other understanding now.....I get it awesome!
What’s the price on getting this port job ?
how many trees to a tank can you get with them 562xp s
Not sure about he 562xp s?
The number of trees per tank in directly proportional to the hardness on the stump, size, condition of the chain, length/number of cuts, and number of limbs needing to be sawed to get down it with a tape. There is no set number therefore. They seem to get way better gas mileage after they are fitted with a zipkit, though. About an hour in the normal size of tree you would use a saw of this size. Best I can do, sorry.
Thanks for watching.
you have a silvey?
Hey jack i lost your email and i have some saw questions thanks jason
+Jason Steele Check the 562 versus backyard spruce video. Thx

Midget saws lives matter!! How dare you
If this is bad... Once Mr. Barringer gets a chance to put some time in on his newest rendition 562, I will post a video of his first. It is seen pulling a 36.
Mostly because I've always been of the persuasion that all saw's lives matter.
Thanks for watching.
