Finally, a Mr. Rogers for adults. Wouldn't it be lovely if everyone on RUclips and on television would speak in comforting tones such as Dr. Dhand is doing here, instead of the non-stop hyperactive idiocy we have been plagued with for the last 30 years.

You've noticed that too?! I have been wondering what's going on with ppl recently, talking so fast they actually stumble over their words, don't pause between sentences and go on minutes without saying anything, just speed babbling. What id that about I wonder! I've noticed even ancors on news channels are doing this. It's weird.

The two days before my heart attack and Aortic dissection were the two most stressful days of my life because I was dealing with two "sick in the head" people. I was trying to make silk purses out of sow's ears. Listen to what Dr. Dhand is saying. This is an inspired video. Be good to yourself. Make decisions in the direction of growing your own life that don't include people who "feel like trouble."

My daughter and son-in-law drive me crazy. I know they mean we, but I don’t think like they do about life or anything going on in the world and this year we had hurricane Helene and we had no power for a long time. I am diabetic and my numbers were very high because of my stress. I’m 82 years old and I try to keep to my best but it doesn’t always work. Anyway thank you for your support and help. I appreciate your thoughts and the way you think about things going on in our life, country, and the world today. I want to thank you for making me see things differently and to help me understand things better. You are a blessing to all of us and God Bless you and your family and your entire professional thoughts. 🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

We think we owe it to family to be there for them, be friends with them, think like them. I’m male, 71 years old, and have 5 living sisters, all older than I am. If these individuals weren’t my siblings I would have nothing to do with them. We have little in common and they talked over me, bossed me around, and then ignored me my entire young life. Now I’m kind to them but never go out of my way to visit them and none of them have ever stayed at my home in the past 10 years. i hear you, Blanche.

Speaking for myself . . . it is very difficult to be a person with chronic stress. I can relate to much of what you say and what Dr. Dhand says. It is not always easy to free ourselves from situations which cause us stress. I pray for strength, courage and endurance everyday because I am older and unable to make significant changes in my immediate world. God's will be done, but yes, stress is so uncomfortable. I keep moving forward. I am a baby boomer and a vet so I grew up in happier times but it is hard to realize that we were being slowly deceived over all these years. Hard pill to swallow! Trying to stay on the right path with God's loving plan. ❤🙏🕊🇺🇸🌎💪

The button pushing thing reminded me of an experience at work. A coworker was driving me crazy, just driving me crazy by him just being himself (which included subversion to get his way on things). This went on for months, my stress level was through the roof. I realized my bosses were going to do nothing to rectify the situation and weren't willing to transfer either of us to a different group. I decided right then to just ignore the A-hole. He would come to my desk and start in on something and I'd just keep working and pretend he wasn't even there, after a few minutes he'd just walk away. I decided to give him no power over my attitude, and he gradually lost his influence in the group over time, most people in the group followed my lead and stopped taking him seriously.

Probably green cardamom, fresh ginger, couple of cloves, fennel seeds - bring to boil, add your teabag/s (depends how many cups you are making) I add 2 teabags to make 3 ( or use loose tea), leave boiling for a few minutes -add milk (normally cow milk - look at colour of tea - if to dark -add more milk) bring to boil - leave it bubbling for a few mins (to get good flavour) strain and drink. OR just buy spice Indian tea but it contains sugar and it’s not very nice.

I can get stressed when I haven’t heard from “friends” in a few weeks and I begin to worry that they think I don’t care about them. Then I realize that they have a phone as well - and I have contacted them every time. I try too hard. I’m 71 and have constantly been told that I need to “socialize” for good mental health. Heck - I experience much less stress when I just spend time with my two black Labradors. (and my wife, of course).

I have faith and hope. I have Jesus as my Lord and Savior. I know that one day my daughter and I will be with Jesus! Honestly if it was for my faith id be dead by now. Most people could not handle the stress I’m under. I just tried to tape my knee because it’s bone to bone. She was fine until I sat down to tape my knees she started coughing and choking. It doesn’t sound like a big deal right? I am luck to do anything for myself lately. Every time I try something happens. Ugh! I want Jesus!

I have learnt over the years that stress comes in 3 forms. Chemical, physical, emotional. They range from acute or chronic.
Chemical is sugar, alcohol, carbs, drugs, pollutants, physical is losing your car keys, wallet, whacking yourself with a hammer, chased by a tiger, and emotional losing a loved one, friends, or divorce, bankruptcy etc etc. As you said, the lower we drop these stresses the less conditions & disease we get.

I've just finished my resistance training while listening to you, which I sometimes do when I'm exercising. I use different resistance bands which I love. I'm in my seventies and I've learnt over the years that when a difficult challenge arises, try and keep calm, see which is the best way to approach it and don't forget tomorrow is another day and life is always changing from one minute to the next and things will get better. When one door closes another will open, believing and having faith yourself is what will keep you going and always say I Can Do It and you will, even if you have to ask for help.

Gave all my furniture away. And more. But i was.in bad shape. I couldn't even pick a spoon without shaking so bad. Only one sister of mine was trying to help me out. Took me out to the restaurant to eat, and i felt like i needed to leave. i couldn't breathe. My best remady was long walks. I hate asking for help and i can't cry. As a child i was raised not to cry.

This content is so timeout Dr. I cannot thank you enough 💓 I have been reading Marcus Aurelius and Seneca since August 2024 and their wisdom has been so helpful. Then this month a family member had an emergency admission to hospital and the extended family responses were so convoluted and divergent and therefore stressful I forgot my reading of them and missed my daily walks because simultaneously my dog has a hurt paw and in just 6 days I feel a wreck - I am 68 and back on my healthy path from today. I even gained weight and constipated and extremely distended stomach.

I’m an ICU charge nurse as much as I’m known for staying calm under stressful situations which is all the time 😂 , I’ve been thinking about this a lot, I’m afraid that as much as I’ve practiced different techniques to manage the stress in a healthy way it still has taken a toll 😢

Excellent Dr. Dhand. Thank you. It is so true about the benefits of walking! When I feel stress coming on that is exactly what I do. Personally, I feel it's even more refreshing when the weather is cool. The mental and physical benefits are amazing. And most certainly I believe we all need to live with more gratitude.

This is such a wonderful message and needed reminder for us all. I’m still struggling with my responses to situations and I so appreciate this. I’m trying to live more intentionally and with less stress, having had an extremely stressful career. I loved this so much. Those you come in contact with are so very blessed to have you in their life. I do believe in practicing gratefulness and am so grateful for you. Even on a screen! With thanks!

Think I'll go hike in the darkened cold woods now after reading these comments.🙂 This morning at 5AM, -6F, jumped in the cold plunge outside the patio door for about 5 minutes. Water temperature was 45F. That will kill stress big time! Oh, that hot cup of coffee afterwards was wonderful!

What’s stressful are all the SCAM calls my husband and I get.
Sometimes we turn off our phones but not always because we have family who may call.
The calls are relentless and can feel blood pressure spiking.
We are seniors and don’t need nor want what they are selling.
    It’s definitely annoying.
Thanks Dr. DHand you are the best.
As of late we just hang up on Scam callers.
    Our pressure spikes thanks us.😂

Do you know what will destress you - those scam callers. Keep them talking (waste their time) while you keep working away - every so often - say mmmm I see. Very therapeutic 😂😂😂

It can help to only answer numbers you recognize. If it's important, the others will leave a message. If it's on your cell phone, you can delete and also block numbers. Seems to help decrease the amount of calls.

I'm 63 also and stressed and depressed since my 20th. I think that I finally got the solution for myself. I stopped caring about almost everything. Especially about the things I have no control over. Since the stress was gone, my depression also went away slowly. These two are closely connected and breaking the circle was the solution.
