I'd like to seem some of the "shoulder bag" cases. These are all well and good but they do not handle accessories like USB-C hubs or third-party chargers, cables etc. Let's see how some of those bags fare with Ally.
I use the latest version of the Satisfye Slim Case for my ROG Ally. Just rotate it so the bottom of the console faces the top handle. The triggers will fall into the holes for the grip. Also the added bonus of being able to charge the Ally while in the case.
@@lloyddullavin2973 No issues with the sticks getting damaged in that case? i sold my Switch OLED once i got the Ally as i have a Switch Lite, but i do have that case i could re-purpose it for the Ally
Does it push in the analog sticks sometimes or the back buttons? I use my spare SD case for now but it presses the backbuttons when my backpack moves a bit...
No it doesn’t push the buttons, there’s a lot of room in the case. Plus it’s nice and secure when you wrap the Velcro sleeve that it has inside so it don’t move either. Has a lot of room to also put chargers and even a Nintendo switch if you want. Lol
8:33 - Honestly mate, I can't fathom why you'd say that it's not a bad case if you can get over the protection aspect. This is a "travel case" - that means the entire point of its existence is to protect it while travelling.
I think you missed the mark on the generic amazon case at 4:59. there is a Velcro strap you can attach to prevent it from sliding around. i put a microfiber cloth between that and the screen, it's brilliant
Great video. The official Asus Ally case is a soft case. No protection along the edges and you can easily click on the joysticks and the rear macro buttons when carrying it around. For $39US, it's absolutely a joke.
I've been using the Tomtoc case for switch splitpad compact and I think it fits perfectly. Doesn't push the triggers down on mine, but I do keep it off when its in the case anyways. Great fit IMO. Way better than an oversized steam deck case where it's going to slide around.
tomtoc Arccos Series for the steam deck. this is more so a bag rather than just a case, but has two carry handles. fits all the accessories you would need plus a xbox controller while still being able to carry by hand rather easily
Try the DEVASO carrying case for the steam deck/ ninetendo swtich. I just got it. Fits my rog ally, charger and cable and a dock. And more if you want. Has a v shaped structure inside that protects the thumbsticks.
I picked up the Aenlossi for my Ally and I completely agree that it is a bit bland. Personally I found a iron-on patch from amazon (Etsy is probably also a great option) and popped that on the front. I opted for a Wings Of Freedom patch from Attack on Titan but I thought the old school PlayStation 1 logo would have looked really nice as well. Was super easy to install, just make sure you have something underneath the top flap to support it while you are ironing on the patch and also possibly iron through something like a towel just to help with heat distribution.
The stock asus case is an absolute POS. I bought it and found everytime I zip it closed the zipper scratched the triggers. It offers no protection except accidental scratch on the screen. The Iofeiwak is not perfect but it's better than the generic amazon case you showed as I bought both and stuck with the Iofeiwak
Hi friend! I have verified that the JSAUX (and it's clone) cases will work and have a little velcro "strap" that prevents the sliding (of left/right). I've been using that case for windows handhelds for awhile but it now holds the Ally!
@@CTAtechdesk So the case I mentioned clears both sticks, although if you press hard enough from the outside of the case, it will press down on the left joystick. Hope this helps.
I don't know about anybody else but honestly I wish that they would make a backpack specifically meant for the ally or maybe even the steam deck where it held the ally in a hard case on the inside that was lockable and you know have cool little places to put your charger a wireless mouse small wireless keyboard maybe a small 7 to 10 in portable gaming screen and a couple of high watt battery pack chargers.. something like that you know. I don't know why anybody doesn't do it them things would sell like hotcakes for the steam deck and for the ally. The best thing I've been able to find to use for my ally was a tactical backpack and it was like 120 bucks but it works really well and I can put all that stuff in there and it has the bonus effect of that people might be thinking I'm carrying a gun in there instead of over $1,000 of electronics.. I live in Texas so we have pretty awesome gun laws here in case anybody was wondering
Quick question on the Aenllosi case. Do you think you can manage to fit an extremely small keyboard like Microsoft designers compact keyboard 284.07 x 110.77 x 9.05 mm on top of the ally? I'm tempted but it's $42 USD and won't ship for almost a month.
My two gripes ( i just received the newer, black and clear version ) 1: the top middle doesnt really secure well. I find myself re-securing it throughout my sessions. 2: My brand new 180-degree usbc angle plug (so it points down) no longer fits. Not the cases fault but something to keep in mind if your angle adapter has a tight formfactor.
Yup. Better than nothing though. Waiting on d brand, this one is my 3rd from Amazon, all say “fits ally” and of course, doesn’t by a few mm. Last 2 only covered the screen and not bezel. 🤢
It’s to answer the questions I get about fitting in my other videos and all you need to do is check amazon to see the amount that claim this but in truth doesn’t fit.
Both the "Aenlossi" and official one are the worst ones you could possible get in my opinion. You cannot even fit the charger in there together with the device. To me this is the definition of a pointless product.
Try being in the uk 😂 Can only just for one of our charging bricks in a suitcase. The official case is really designed for protection and nothing more and does the job when packing
11 cases tested. Please let me know if you want me to do a deeper dive in any of the cases.

Check out the spigen case meant for the steam deck. It fits ROG ally beautifully
I second this idea.
I bought one and im in love with it

@@Stormcloud10 No it doesn't you can tighten the velcro

Ah yes, the video iv been looking for especially it came out a few hours a go
Thank you so much, I’ve been looking for cases non stop and your video helped a lot. I clicked your link and purchased the black version
I use an Aldi bag and it also fits groceries in woth the Ally
lol
Try the Spigen case made for steam deck. That’s the best one so far.
Yep it is i got it i love being able to stash the power supply and other accesories in the same case!

Nice one 👍🏻 But too close to the thumbsticks for me. Maybe a cloth down the side just in case.

Yeah they're pretty much making money off from accessories, man my 20$CAD steam deck shoulder bag may have the same quality with that.

That’s odd. Mines a very tight fit and can’t use it, maybe check when it’s in as I wouldn’t want pressure on the triggers even if its off.
@@CTAtechdeskwhat's the long term damage of the triggers being squished down?
What is the thing on the desk? in the top left?
I need one that fits with the killswitch fro. D brand attached

Can you use the Rog ally official travel case? If your ally has a silicone protector?

Waterfield waxed canvas and chocolate leather and the Spigen case. Both are pretty rad.

It’s the pushing of the joysticks with the centre flap that’s the major issue for me. Only the ones I tested do this and can’t vouch for others.
@@CTAtechdesk So the case I mentioned clears both sticks, although if you press hard enough from the outside of the case, it will press down on the left joystick. Hope this helps.
