This video is on “Nitrogen Blanketing System For Storage Vessels“. The target audience for this course is chemical and process engineers
Several hydrocarbons and petrochemical products in chemical process plants are stored at atmospheric temperature. Their flash points are very low. Hence the vapour in the vapour space of the storage vessels has high composition of the product stored. Ingress of air into the vessel during maintenance /start up or breath-in can cause the air- vapour mixture concentration to reach the flammable limit. Nitrogen blanketing is one of the commonly followed safeguarding philosophy in chemical process plants to mitigate the risk arising from storage of hazardous liquids in storage tanks. This video focuses on the design considerations and the methods of nitrogen blanketing scheme for flammable liquid storage.

Hi thank you for the video! so useful! However, may I know where can i refer to get the vlaue of LOC %v/v as you have in the video? u mention PO has a LOC of 5.8%v/v, can i get the source so i can understand more on this. Thanks!
