I am trans myself and when I just figured myself out I was actually scared of detransitioning peoples opinions. I was so unsure about my own identity and felt threatened by their sheer existence. This panel helped me realize a lot about myself and further steps I will be taking in my transition! Also I watched the mentioned movie featuring Alia. Very great resource!
Your own identity is the way you were BORN. Everything else is just how we present ourselves to the world, don't worry about societal norms, and sexist gender stereotypes, you are worthy of love, happiness, respect, and peace without any adulterations to your body that will cause complications, or inhibit it's function. Maintaining health is hard enough as it is without us complicating things for no reason. You are perfect as you were born, you aren't broken, and you don't need to be fixed.
@@brockreynolds870 Thank you for saying that. We are deserving of love. The way we are: trans. And we deserve the healthcare we need to truly be ourselves. And you're right, our identity is something we are born with. I for one was born trans. Some people take some time to figure that out, but it's fair to say most of us are "born with it" (not spondored by maybeline) Why can't we have the love, happiness, respect and peace you talk of while also approaching the goal of being our true selves?
@johngallagher3732 So are you saying ban the medicine and lock the patients up? We tried our entire lives to live in our own skin as that was the default. Obviously you want to stifle discussion and freedom of speech and call it normalizing disease.

But we were not born with breasts and I am happy that I got them removed.

Thank you for this! There's not enough discussion around this subject. Thank you to all the panel for their generosity and vulnerability in sharing.
@John Gallagher Agree!
