I WAS ABLE TO DRAIN THE FLUID BY PUTTING THE CAR ON A CURB AND SETTING PARKING BRAKE. I DID NOT NEED TO JACK UP THE CAR. I COULD NOT REMOVE THE SELF ADJUSTING CLAMPS ON THE FILTER ON MY 2007 HONDA ACCORD. YOU DONT NEED TO REMOVE THE AIR BOX.
Next to the washer reservoir? Are you talking about the one with the little red cap? That's your power steering fluid. The transmission doesn't have a reservoir, you just drain out 3.5 quarts (measure it to be sure) and then add the same amount back.
@@BrianBalatbat yea because mine is a 04 Honda accord ex sedan 2.4 v4 and I been changing stuff on it because it was never done was th8nking about changing filter and tranny oil and maybe shift solenoid
@@YoungShizzieget a genuine Honda transmission filter tho, dont buy the one seen in this video. Amazon has genuine Honda filters for $25, the one seen in the video is a Chinese counterfeit. Honda filters do not have the red end caps nor are the inlet & outlet tubes painted.

Your old oil is so black 😬😬😬 dis the new oil mess up the transmission? You know how they say if you never change your transmission fluid then just leave it alone
Just what I was looking for. Thank you for this. '06 Accord 200K, heading to 1M.

Thank you for sharing, did the Trans. oil but not the filter. My 2007 Accord sitting on 452K and running smooth
Have u replaced any parts in engine ???
I honestly had no idea there was a filter. I changed the fluid a while ago. Going to change the filter with an OEM one.
Doing mine today on my commuter has 247k miles been a great car if it ever dies ill be buying another one
These are great cars for sure
4:19 bracket fits only if filter is correct way.
Counterfeit filter too.
@@donniev8181patent is public now- but still go oem for QA anyway 👍
Just bought my son his first car, an 06 Accord with 162k and we're going to be doing our own maintenance. Thanks for videoing so we have a guide.
Long story, but I pushed the spark plug mettalic part into the chamber. How do I get it out?
3:18 I have a homade pickle fork that tapers for different hose sizes. Place between the hose and filter and pry outward.
Pliers with a 90 curve at the end make it so easy
Is this an automatic transmission?
Yes
@@BrianBalatbat does the 2007. I also have this filter? I have 2.4 4 cyl.
never really understood why u put in what u take out if the service manual calls for a certain amount why not just stick to that?
Best video have seen on this most neglected the filter. For some reason Honda doesn’t document well.
Its replacement is not called for in the Honda maintenance schedule.

Can I change the transmission fluid after 210,000 miles? 05 Honda accord
Yes you can as long as it’s the correct Honda fluid
185k here haha, what better time than now
If your dipstick is black you should proceed with caution, heard many people say thats when it may be too far gone
The transmission fluid to my 2003 accord is red but there’s no service record on carfax am I safe to change the fluid
Can you refill through the reservoir? It’s next to the windshield washer reservoir. Just thinking it’s more accessible than the ATF dipstick.
No, that’s your brake fluid reservoir… use the atf dipstick with a long funnel.

Is this same on K20 ?

Doing my girlfriends 04 today 05 2.4 should be identical
Is it OK to have it right up to the top dot on the stick?
Tell me more. This is good information
I was scared to change mine well get it flushed but ima change tranny fluid and filter
It’s ok to do drain and refill with filter change and correct fluid. Would not recommend flushing it.

My Car is currently with the engineer and I have a clue of what is happening right now to my car.
Hope they are able to fix it well
Planning to change my fluid and add an transmission cooler
what is the part number of that filter?

Lmao
Yeah if its low... put back what you take out doesn't apply, then default to mid way between two dots on dipstick, check add remove as needed
Thats so easy lol
Thanks for the great video and explanation.
No problem!

Common misconception only don’t if there’s metal shavings in the fluid which is hardly ever
Very good 👍

Thanks
