well..uh oh..
I have so many things to say
alrighty first of all, this is my first video that has more than 2 minutes and it's actually finished...wow..I'm quite proud of myself but I also kind of regret it because I tried to finish Ravenpaw's farewell, Hollyleaf AMV, Brightheart AMV
But no oh my God I finished this thing.. Nevermind, at least I had a lot of fun while making this vid
The purpose of this storyboard was to practise facial expressions, anatomy, backgrounds, symbolism etc.
The first cat you see in the vid is called Dirtpool ( a tomcat )
and the scottish fold is called Bunnypaw.( a femal cat )
I would love to explain the story for you, I was trying to write the story for 30 minutes but I had to delete it because it was way too long ( with my tendency to write everything in detail aghhh )

They have both been through crazy amounts of messed up stuff and Dirtpaw grew up with every cat hating him so he was pretty traumatized himself to the point of insanity

In the last few frames you can really see the desperation and pain in his eyes; he's trying his absolute best to convince her he isn't a monster and he's not proud or happy with what he feels he had to do to survive.
It doesn't help that she's much younger than him either, so she has no idea what he's gone through to reach this point. She thinks he's a monster, and that's it, but there's so much more that she doesn't even realize.
Really really great work! Even the slightest changes in expression conveyed so much
I think the last few frames were when Gullwing came across Dirtpool about to kill Bunnypaw. His desperate look was because of the fact that he got caught in the act of murdering his clan mate, something he agreed to Gullwing that he wouldn’t do (or else he would be exiled).

Based on the link in replies , I’m under the assumption that he was not going to kill her, as he only acted as if he was so he wouldn’t and prove a point, before being caught by Gullwing and then the exile situation, (there’s also the fact that even if bunnypaw wasn’t killed , Raspberrypelt WAS killed by him, so regardless of if he and bunnypaw fought, Dirtpool would’ve been exiled if caught)

This is good and dark. I dunno what to say. The anatomy was on point, the expressions are great. Just the thought that, with prey that scarce, he had no choice but to turn to cannibalism. Dark. I like it
Kayla this is actually modeled after a series of books if you enjoyed this I’m sure you will enjoy them too! It’s called warriors and there are four main series with six books in each a prequel with six books that’s probably better to read after at least the first series mangas that I haven’t gotten to yet but I think they follow the parts that aren’t too detailed in the main stories they also have a few guides and some other books in the point of view of different characters. It’s a lot but they’re really good books!

Wow, Dirtpelt is outstandingly strong, but also its sad, because I could tell he looked like he felt horrible, or that he was scared of taking a bite of a dead cat/dog or something. But that he had to fight for food against a queen that had kits, thats so sad to me. But this is BEAUTIFUL! You have a amazing kind of art, great job!

If you are stranded somewhere with no food, and there is a dead person right there, you would seriously let yourself die for your morals? I highly doubt it. People tend to have a very high opinion of their own moral fibre, but when it comes to it, your instincts to survive are far more overpowering.

Zarzarbingy1 AJ the cliffhanger is actually Gullywing stopping Dirtpool from killing Bunnypaw. That’s why Dirtpool was so surprised at the end, cause his brother appeared whilst he was attacking Bunnypaw.

Oh my gosh, I am absolutely enthralled with this story!! It's so creative and scary, but more than anything, I love how it castes a "good" cat as the villain. Raises that question, how far are you willing to go to provide for your family? Really makes you think about conflicting morals and where the line between right and wrong is. :) I was wondering, what did both cats see at the end to make their faces suddenly become so shocked?

What an incredibly unique idea for a warriors story. I can't believe I've never heard of a cannibal warrior. Not even in the main series. It's not mentioned even _once_ except for like.. How the kittypets talked about the deadly forest cats that could eat them for breakfast. But I don't remember if they were outright called cannibals.
ANYHOO. Beautiful, wonderful animatic. I aspire to draw cats this well in my own animatics someday.
Hello! I just want to say, I watched this when it first came out, I watched this and couldn’t sleep or eat for 2 days because of how terrified it made me. I haven’t been able to listen to this song because it makes me sick, and that is actually so cool that you could make an animatic that’s impacted so drastically that even now, 5 years later, I can’t listen to the song. I have to come back and just say thank you for making such an impactful animation
The story behind this is just so sad, and the song as well, everything is it together so perfectly! I've read many warrior cat based fan made stories, but this one is even filled with more emotion than the originals. Beautiful artwork, animating, and song choice! I love it even though it's so unbearabley sad!

Wow, fantastic job with this dude! I love how clear the story is through your poses and expressions, not to mention just how well they go with Chase Holfelder's vocals. They never felt lackluster or unfitting of the tone. Also just gonna say nice job with the backgrounds too, not enough people try to incorporate them and they look nice and add to the tone! Honestly I'd love to read up on a full story of these guys some time, reading through the comments section scavenging for info just doesn't suffice!

Its takes only three minutes to understand what these cats are all about, that's some good story telling right there
So, what I've gathered is that Dirtpool came from a happy clan. But then a famine hit them and everyone was starving. So, Dirtpool, unable to find food any other way, turned to eating other cats. One day, while eating his wretched meal, he met a young cat who was hungry as well. He shared the cat meat with her, without telling her what it was. I'm guessing that this conflict at the end was her finding out and confronting him, whereas he defends himself by saying he survived by doing things "his way." Am I close? Also, I love this video. The art, the song, the story(even if I'm wrong) is fantastic!!

Gosh the anatomy in this is flipping amazing! Not only did you go full emotion train on making their facial expressions, but you added a breed of cat i haven't seen drawn before!! The creativity in this is stunning
Wow this is great. By far one of my favorite animations now. The song has a lot of meaning in it, and it really connects with the story, and fills in gaps that the animation didn’t cover. It took me a few watches to digest all of the meaning in this storyboard, and it gets better every time I replay it. Beautiful!

I’ve rewatched it tons of times, for the artwork and emotions it evokes, combined with the song.
I absolutely cannot say that I like the story line, but I loved the animation in itself. The art was beautiful, and it was put together so well! The song choice was great to, and I love how you made your own characters. Great work! 💜

Edit, I just finished reading it! This explains why trees were cut in the background of Bunnykits scene, and why he bit into her neck but didn't kill her. BUT WHAT HAPPENS AFTER GULL WING CATCHES THEM! Ahh, sorry if I'm asking you to write a whole other story thing. I love the story line and the characters! It's not a cliched story, and has real depth and creativity!

The expressions with the music, the pacing of the visuals, the audio quality, the designs and details, the style.... All of it fits fantastically with each other and my God the story is even better.
