Just watched a number of your videos of trips on the Rebel, really enjoyed them. Here in the UK aged 66 my knees were going so I needed something light as opposed to my previous 865-1000cc cruisers. Bought a Rebel 500 and I think it's great fun! Anyway, take care Lyssa, I look forward to more videos, ride safe.
I honestly want to be like you when I get older! 66 and still riding! Heck yes, that’s awesome! And I know what you mean, I’ve tried much bigger and heavier bikes and boy were they tough to handle! I love my Rebel, it’s so light, like a toy😂 But thank you for the support and I appreciate the inspirational comment! Safe riding to you as well🙌😁
Did you ever, like ever, feel like the 500 wasn’t enough power for you during this trip? Two people and bags seems like a lot but I love how well you handled it and made it seem like a breeze.
That is an awesome question and I’m glad to answer! I’ll be honest, there were a few times where I doubted the power of my 500… Especially because of how much weight I had on the bike. There was a point, I believe on day four, where we went to Shelter Cove, all of those twists and turns with the steep incline and declines of the hills made me want to quit and turn around or even stop the trip… Cars and other riders would catch up to me quick and I just felt like the throttle was not giving me enough…BUT AGAIN, I was pushing the max weight capacity for the bike itself so I do understand why and how it made a difference. When we finally go back and done with the trip, unloading my bike and riding 1up, it was like a whole new bike! I felt like I was controlling a feather😌 because of this week-long ride and experience, I learned soooo much about my bike and about riding.
@@LyssaWithAnE I guess, in a sense it was a really great thing to put your bike through that type of riding so you learn it’s limits. Awesome trip, thank you for sharing.
Wow...I hope there wasnt any heavy chopping in editing?...cause that part was fantastic and too short....please next time give us more footage from any trips like this....I know those trips are belonging to you...I mean you deserve to have a cool time for yourselves at first place and not be a full time camerawoman...but we (your fans) becoming addicted... :oD oh that cave...scary and magical the same time...Keep on Rockin' Guys In The Free World! \m/
Awww, I’m flattered that I have a fan! Thanks for the constant support! This video was shorter than my usual, mainly because i just split the day 5 footage unevenly 😅 Part one has the bulk of it and part two was mainly because part one was getting too long and I didn’t want to lose viewer interests in such a long video 😅 I’m glad you enjoyed it though!
I would have completely jumped into that cove, it looked way to tempting just through the video haha. I need to plan a trip soon, this whole series has got me itching for another adventure. I had a question for you though, did you consider getting any other bikes? If so which ones?
The constant support. Thank you😭 I’m just now getting to comments with some free time, but man, that is a good question to answer! I kinda want to just make a short video of answering that honestly. And you should definitely plan a trip when you can man, life is just to short, you gotta enjoy it, you know?
@@LyssaWithAnE that would be a pretty good video, you should definitely do that when you can. Also you're welcome 😁 I want my friends to flourish in what they like to do because I think its great to see so im going to support it through and through whole heartedly. I'm looking to make a trip in spring next year, by then I should have a motorcycle license and a cycle to take it on. There are 2 sayings I like to use alot, 1 is "Don't Lose Sight" which I use for who I am and the goals I set, and the other is "Waste no time, life's to short so make the most of it" I wasted alot if time I my earlier 20's chasing things I should have let go, no longer will I and I love seeing how you are aiming for the same 😁 please keep up this great thing with your channel, ill continue to support and hopefully one day we can go on a cruise when you are back and in the swing of it again. Tha k you for all that you do, both here, in your day to day and for your service 🌺🙌😁
Thanks for sharing your ride with us! How did your bike perform, especially two up & with luggage? I have a Triumph Bonneville and on the highway my mpg is drastically reduced. I'm wondering if the extra passenger/luggage had a major effect on your power and mpg. I'd love to get one of those Rebel 500s! So much easier to maintain and SO MUCH lighter in weight!
Thanks for watching and I’m glad you enjoyed the video! As for the bike performance with a passenger, I noticed my MPG did reduce, but not drastically. I think it was from 60MPG originally, and it went down to 50-55MPG with a passenger. As for weight, I DEFINITELY felt a difference. The power aspect, it took a bit more throttle for my bike to speed up… especially when heading onto the freeway. Not gonna lie, I felt the difference with all of that weight(specially cause we were pushing the maximum weight limit on the bike(cleared within 5-8lbs)). But alone, the bike is VERY light and manageable!😁
@@LyssaWithAnE Thanks, so much, for your response. I think it's inevitable that mpg will decrease on the highway (especially with luggage/passenger);however, the Rebel 500 seems a great bike. Light, enough power, and reasonably priced. I'm definitely interested!
What a beautiful ride!
You rock as always
Thank you☺️

Awesome scenery! How's your current deployment treating you? Still a night owl over there?
Yup, still a night owl. And honestly, I wouldn’t want it any other way!😊

Please be carefull with whistling in the helmet.. it's really bad out here with headphones on... thank you for a great video.
My apologies! Didn’t know how high it would be on the video😅 Thanks for watching!
Can’t hear the bike. Exiting out
