  • This tune was released first as a single in January 2011 and later made part of J.O.E.s album Man From Judah.
@3:00 Gavin Blair, the producer of this tune explains what the Tamarind Season is as bellow:
As I sat in the studio in the engineer's chair mixing this J.O.E Song A Little youngster from next door came by, He heard the music as it pulsated through the speakers He then asked me these words, tamarind season! What do they mean? So I said to that Youngster,
Tamarind season occurs after a December of feasting & spending This equates to January of leeching, borrowing and lending But from whom am I to borrow? If there is nobody to lend Everyone is flat out, flat broke or flat on their backs looking at the ceiling When just a few weeks ago there were so many oranges for the peeling, So much food for the feeding,
But now on the first of January hunger is revealing! Like biblical revelations to come, And we will never learn, because this will affect generations to come Financial segregation, taxation and inflation, Leaves I and I pockets depleted And for the months of January, February and March feeling devastated and defeated But don't worry, because, Joy Is Near And on April morning is when the tamarind will bear
And that is when I will say to my friends, my family and my collages A Happy, A Happy, A Happy New Year.
