On these small practice sandwiches, the batting usually holds the fabric in place well enough basting isn't needed. If I'm doing a full quilt I'll make sure to baste using either pins or spray basting.
Since its free motion I drop my feed dogs and move the fabric manually, so the stitch length varies based on how fast or slow I'm going. I aim for around 12 stitches per inch.
wow amazing all over pattern i love it!!!!! Thanks to share!!!
I have got to try and do this! Thank you 😊
Please do!

Such a great quilting design! Thank you for sharing!
This is a pretty pattern and I'm looking forward to trying it. Thank you.
You are very welcome!
Sew pretty! Since there are no pins, how do you keep the fabric from shifting?

What stitch length do you use? It looks very pretty!

@@OnWilliamsStreet Thank you. How fast do you stitch/push on the pedal. Someone told me pedal to the metal and slowly do your design.
Great pattern! I will try it on my next quilt. Is there a pattern for the small octagon quilt behind you? I just love it!
That was a gift made for me. The label says Fractral Quilt Block. I'm not sure of the designer though.
You make it look so easy!!! How did you get the grid on there??
I just used one of my quilting rulers and washable school chalk. It doesn't need to be super exact for this design, so that combination works great!
