Excellent, I thought it may have been a wiring issue. I bought the car last winter so never tried the air until late summer. I live in England but had spent most of the summer in the US so the car was never used, so by the time I got around to trying the air it was a bit late in the year to really troubleshoot. I'll have it pressure tested and refilled after Christmas.
Thank you this is very interesting: earlier in the year my ac compressor stopped working after the EC light came on while running the ac. Now from digging a little I've discovered the Eco light will operate if there is not enough refrigerant so do you think that it may also switch the compressor off?
Hi. My #2 code is not reading right. It shows unusually high and doesn't match the dash temp. This is on my 98 clk. I think I need to change the sensor, but I have no idea where it is. Any ideas? Thanks!
Hi there i have a 97 sl 500 r129 I have heat on screen heater when on thats fine But cannot get any heat from climate control at any temprature settings Would be gratefull if you can help , i know there are sensors is there a quick fix ive been told to take to mercedes and put on diagnostics.
unfortunately there is no quick fix....you could lightly (with something like the rubberized handle of a screwdriver) tap on the duovalve/monovalve to see if it is stuck...it is under the big square black plastic cover at the base of the passenger windshield..5 screws to remove and look for the valve with 2 rubber heater hoses going into it looks similar to the one in the video I'm adding a link to,,,but it has 1 round valve instead of 2 How to..Mercedes monovalve, duo valve cleaning, checking
Hi, i have a 1994 C220. Whenever i turned on the climate control and start to rev it, the blower or air that comes out of the vents run from the center console to the side vents and when i release the gas pedal it returns to normal. Hope you can help me with this? Thanks.
fernando trinidad sounds like you have a vacuum leak in one of the plastic vacuum lines... there are a bunch you can get access to by removing the glovebox. they also run into the engine compartment in front of the passenger..the only thing you can do is check them all for leaks
fernando trinidad a vacuum tester will work.. as you apply vacuum to each line ,you can see which one holds the vacuum , and which one leaks off the pressure.. then you can trace the leaky one... if you smoke, you can blow cigarette smoke into the line and look for it leaking out
either a fuse, the wiring connector behind the gauge cluster (there are 2 that plug into the cluster) or the gauge lighting dimmer is bad..have you checked the dimmer to see if it is turned down/off ?
chasebanx mastergrower If all the wiring plugs are plugged in, and the fuses are good, then the dimmer (+ - buttons) is possibly bad..it may also be something in the light switch on the dash since power is routed through there
Charles Heil they tell what the problem is, deleting them is good because old codes that are no longer an issue are still stored and can keep the unit from working properly..
+fupabox you wouldn't happen to know how to make panels would you? I want to place a panel in the gap where the ashtray is, reaching from the radio panel to the shifter. Where I could put the ac unit and have room for a double din radio.
if it won't change temperature, then the duovalve is likely clogged or stuck...I have a video on how to check and clean it How to..Mercedes monovalve, duo valve cleaning, checking

The "usefullest" thing I ever learn on my car ! Thanks ;)

Very useful explanation thanks 👍👍good luck
hi can you do a video to use or turn on the climate control panel for the AC
Thank you this is very interesting: earlier in the year my ac compressor stopped working after the EC light came on while running the ac. very educative. Thank you regards
hi there if my Mercedes climate control display sensor is not bring the icon lights wht do i do

Thank you sir. Will be doing that. Do you recommend any tool to check for any leak?

HI, thank you again. Ill try the glove box first to check for any leaks. Thanks for the help.
igota question y dose my 1996 c220 says for code 6 open insted of coolent temp?
code 6 is the interior temp sensor ..open means open circuit.. there is a wireing problem with the sensor
fupabox ok so witch one is the coolent temp ?
hey, none of my dash light and radio an climate control lights are working . what do u suggest this is from
either a fuse, the wiring connector behind the gauge cluster (there are 2 that plug into the cluster) or the gauge lighting dimmer is bad..have you checked the dimmer to see if it is turned down/off ?
yes i checked dimmer and everything is out radio climate control everything..theres just a plus and minus +/- and i press it up but nothing
chasebanx mastergrower

mine reads 07 - 14.3. WHen I get under the car I can a very fluorescent coloring around the compressor.
any idea why my floor vent flaps won't open on my w202? thanks
possibly a vacuum leak or the flap actuator is stuck
is it possible to change manual climate control to automatic like yours ?
not that I know of .. there are a lot of very different sensors and components under the dash
Sir,
Does this demo. Apply to a mb c220 1995 ?
sir i got OPE at number 08 and 5*5 at number 07 what should i do now???
Those are only the actual values for the climate systems.. Are you having an issue with something in the climate system ?
Does deleting codes fix the problem? Or do they tell me whats wrong that I already know?
Charles Heil they tell what the problem is, deleting them is good because old codes that are no longer an issue are still stored and can keep the unit from working properly..
is it the same technique for a 1992 399 sl
if your climate control unit looks the same as this . it should work
240p we meet again. lol thanks again fubabox!
thank you so much for ur help👌
How do I turn off the E C light
I did this and I get OPE, CL 0, and 212, 129 codes like that. what's wrong
+minzi2047 did they go away when the plug was re-connected ?
+fupabox yeah it went away
+fupabox you wouldn't happen to know how to make panels would you? I want to place a panel in the gap where the ashtray is, reaching from the radio panel to the shifter. Where I could put the ac unit and have room for a double din radio.
+minzi2047 I've never tried it.. there must be a how to on one of the MB forums..someone must have done it before
+fupabox I made one out of fiberglass but it isn't as flush as the dash kits, might just go with molten aluminium.
My hair conditioner dont work nor my heat, how can i fix it?
the fan doesn't blow any air ?
YEAH it does
if it won't change temperature, then the duovalve is likely clogged or stuck...I have a video on how to check and clean it
How to..Mercedes monovalve, duo valve cleaning, checking
sorry I meant 300 sl

Here's a list people can print out if they can't find the codes.

Have you ever thought about filming in daylight so people other than troglodytes can see it?
That's actually funny as hell ..kudos. I try not to film at night any more . I used to just do it when I had the chance .
