  • Located 80 kms. From Seville Moguer is a little town with neolithic origins as well as a past relationship with Phoenicians, Romans and Moors. Among the tourist interest buildings you can see the Santa Clara Monastery ( travel.webshots... ) definitely worth a vist the Nuestra Señora de Granada church and the City Hall, which is quite enchanting with its moorish style arches. But the pride and joy of the Moguereños is that their town is the birth place of the 1956 Literature Nobel Prize winner, Juan Ramón Jiménez whom they remember as a universal poet. He is well remembered in the town with museums and a statute
    By the other hand, Moguer has a special interest to those interested in Columbus voyage to America. In fact, one of the caravels La Niña was built in the local ( travel.webshots... )port and also many of the friars who participated in Christian missions to America came from the local San Francisco Convent, for example Fran Antonio de Olivares, the founder of the city of San Antonio in Texas.
