Today's 4 FOR FUN

  • I got the shock of my life yesterday!
The racing wasn’t great, I had no Rated races to work on and so, for the first time in as long as I can remember, I produced figures for a quartet of Class 6 races and, they were pretty darned decent.
The vast majority of handicaps we see on a daily basis are at the lower end of the food chain in terms of quality but I do keep saying that we’ll find diamonds in the dirt….and we do.
For next season I’ll have in place a structure that enables me to introduce certain Class 6 races into the Ratings because as Sean said in a recent Podcast, the 5/1 winner of a Class 6 pays exactly the same as a 5/1 winner of a Group 1….I just have to find them for you.
Before I move on to today’s racing and finding us FOUR FOR FUN, I do have to big up Tony Davidson again. His work at the weekend was again unreal, winners at 17/2, 17/2, 2/1, 13/10 from the six games he covered.
I did question his Newcastle/Spurs prediction but he was spot on.
He has a weekend off as we have an International break now but he’s updating all of his databases and has already told me the six games he’ll be working on for the weekend commencing 14th September.
The racing today is much better than yesterday (that wasn’t difficult!), and the Rated races and OMMS have already gone out to my subscribed members but I’ve ha a little look around for something to pop in to the Podcast and found these four…for fun!

    • SEACRUISER (Goodwood 1-45)

He runs in the first at Goodwood this afternoon….1-45pm….and makes debut for Raif Beckett. He cost £200k from Book 1 at Tatts in October last year and they have been sniffing around him today.

    • SPHERICAL (Chepstow 3-13)

James Doyle goes to Chepstow for one ride today and that horse will be just his second ride at the track in the last five years….he won on the other one! You will not get rich off this one but he’ll hopefully make it 2-2 at Chepstow for Doyle.

    • KEEP ME STABLE (Newcastle 7-45)

It’s an all weather Class 6 at Newcastle….the 7-45pm but this horse does arrive in fair form, and is reunited with Tommie Jakes who won on him in the middle of August. The jockey has a near 25% strike rate for trainer Linda Perratt at Newcastle, with a humungous level stake profit of 119pts. Stall 10 is a decent enough draw too.

    • FALLEN SOLDIER (Southwell 3-05)

I’m taking a bit of a flyer here. John Quinn has only saddled three for Nurseries here in the last five years and won with one of them. Jason Hart is top jockey at Southwell riding today and he is 3-9 for the Quinn’s when they team up at this track.
The horse has had his three runs, is upped in trip, makes handicap debut and is priced to lay 20/80.
The last four for fun found two winners and a non-runner and one day they’ll all hit the bullseye.
Best of luck, whatever you do with them….see you next time!
