The Chosen is hands up or down the best Christian TV show ever made
I agree 100%
Have you seen ad the Bible continues is pretty good is about after Jesus death about the church and the apostles
Amen! 🤲❤️
I think they had Him speaking Egyptian in the show simply to make it obvious that He was speaking something only she understood and not the rest of the people around..
With YHWH speaking Egyptian in this scene, it allows the audience to learn about Him having lived in Egypt... nice that they brought this Biblical fact in.
Yes, a great way to bring His history into the episode. Also to show off Jonathon's ability to learn some ancient egyptian!
It's interesting to note too that the Jewish characters generally speak with a Middle Eastern accent, but Romans and others in standard American or British English.
Hello Brandon
It's like they wanted to show Jesus could communicate in many languages?
Yeah I think so, it’s just interesting we never see this again really.
I wish we did! That would have been so awesome!
Jesus growing up in Egypt; there was a series of Marian apparitions in Zeitoun, Egypt seen by *millions* of people over several years. It's said Mary appeared there because this is where She, Joseph, and Jesus lived.
They spoke another language here in Tamar's introduction maybe to further highlight how different she is from the group. She is unique; the first dark-skinned character to receive a major role and the first gentile to have her faith openly recognized by Jesus and as beautiful to besides.
My only criticism of The Chosen is the persona of Jesus and His Mother are possibly a little too jocular or jovial. That's not the word I want. They would have made a dry joke but they were usually serious, very serious. They would have felt and expressed joy but it would all have been subdued. That being said, it is an extremely difficult thing to accurately portray them. Probably has never been done. But, The Chosen has done an excellent job trying. I am very grateful they have attempted it and have produced such an excellent series. It has definitely helped me.
Maybe they did this because Jonathan Roumie's father lived in Egypt
Shmuel's report to Nicodemus - "then He recited my thoughts as if reading from a scroll" 😁. God knows our thoughts. Nothing is hidden from Him 😇
Hello, Brandon, Reaching Tamar where she is, speaking to her to make her welcome. Everyone else in the present group speaks the same language. A sign she is also welcome to join. The disciples are also taken aback, it’s part of them then getting used to different. She’s a gentile. Later, this is also a huge issue with the Pharisees.
Very well said.
love the scene where Tamar finds Mary and says, "What if this was you? Wouldn't you want your friends to make a scene?" And, Mary reflects and says, "I was you once." It reaffirms in the episode that forgiveness and healing are connected, and that "walking different" is a by product of relationship with Jesus.
1:47 Oh, you forgot about Season 2, Episode 7... Jesus to (first conversation with] Primi Gaius: "Mater mei" (explaining first saying goodbye to his"eema.")
With Jesus everything is possible. Praise God
4:07 ... also in Season 2, Episode 7 when Andrew with Philip find them doing "street evangelism."
I love the way you say that Jesus gives them a b, but he answers C. That's a perfect description of what he does!
The Chosen is basically very excellent. The healing scenes and other scenes from Scripture are stupendous and excellent for the Faith.
No matter how many times I've watched these episodes I learn something new from you everytime. Oh and I know you all like schumel me- not so much 😊
Thank you Brandon. Love the way you explain all aspects of the deep dives.
You know, it always confused me as to how Nicodemus even saw the miracle happening when he was left behind in the crowd by Shmuel and Yussif who stepped all the way up to the window.
Thank you for your breakdown Brandon. You helped me understand it even more
I mean Jesus speaks a different language to gaius when he got arrested and the Romans spread something else too like when quintus gets demoted....
Oh my! I've missed that part of the episode!
Brandon, I stumbled on "The Chosen Sleuth" by accident and was immediately transfixed! I've been following ever since. I greatly enjoy your casual, friendly, educational manner. Feels like stopping at a friend's house for coffee and discussing our favourite subject. Keep up the great job!!!
Thank so much! Glad you like being part of the community!
Hey Brandon. You explain so well this old man understands. Thank you
Why did the paralytic have such a smug look on his face right when he was let down before Jesus knelt before him? I always thought that was so odd.
i think it's supposed to be like he's crying and feeling unworthy. At least that's how i took it.
To actually see a miracle happen would scare alot of people who don't know Jesus
I think even though they believe it startles them at times
How can you not love and admire the wisdom of Christ?! Those C answers, as you called them, are a perfect display of such!
Love his expression hilarious. Omgoosh what did Jesus just say.
Just watched on my other phone. Brandon hello. I always catch something more each time I rewatch. Della Warren here
I always learn something from you and I thank you!
