I have a theory too, since Floki's character has been displayed as a religious and spiritual one, it must have a role here. When vikings invaded christian settlements, their main goal was to pillage the church as at that time and even now, churches were adorned with a lot pf materialistic things like intricate statues, gold , silver, etc. Floki, being a spiritual person as well as a simple man, hated churches due to its materialistic feel rather than a spiritual one. However, the mosques at the time like the one show, were mostly built with nothing but bricks, wood, and other basic building materials, but the dedication to prayer gave the mosque a spiritual essence that cannot be overcome with gold and silver. Even though this scene is far from historical reality, I love that the guy who killed the man leading the prayer doesn't even understand that he gave him exactly what every Muslim wishes for, to be granted martyrdom especially while performing prayer.
