I just found this video. I’d love to meet that artist. I’m a painter and wood carver and like learning about these traditions. My great uncle is a Saami woodcarver
This may be a strange question, but if you're "white" yet of good spirit could a Kachina doll curse you? Absolutely incredible artwork and seen many very impressed.
@@shiness6229 thanks 💛 I want a yellow star kachina. Do you have one? I get extra wellfare $ this week. I was blessed by the Kachinas a little over 2 years ago near Flagstaff. I don't know if I was included in ceremonies, or they just took it upon themselves.
@@shiness6229 I was parked at twin Arrows casino. Sleeping in my car. I had some bad things happen about 22 years ago and nothing but nightmares for 20 years. Until that night. No nightmares since. Spirits are different from Kachinas?
@@shiness6229 mitchell.albrecht@yahoo.com Or mitchelljalbrecht@gmail.com Yeah, Ahkima lives on 3rd mesa. I went up there by accident a few winter's ago and brought a yellowish-orange rock in the shape of a 💛. They ladies at the laundromat say they want to whip me. Lol.
Hello I feel as an AZ born Native it's my duty to inform you especially if you are connected to the Heard Museum the correct spelling is Kachina not Katsina :-) gPKIev
@anthony Briones is correct, there is no "CH" sound in the language. My understanding is the correct spelling ( I use the term correct since the English version came to being because of a misunderstanding ) is Katsina. ( cat-SEE-nuh). It was the initial tourists to the reservation that wanted to purchase the dolls and misheard the pronunciation that ended up calling them Kachina ... I'm by no means an expert.. just did a little research.
Beautiful thank you for sharing this 🙏✨ I am investing in katchinas and the Hopi community at this time

We bought a lovely katchina doll about 40 years ago in Arizona. He’s a Zuni Warrior I think.
Thanks from Brasil 🇧🇷
Attractive.
