Kind of a sad fact about the music biz: in the 90's and into the early 2000's, there was such a massive influx of talented singers that far too many were overlooked or simply faded away.
I loved this song when it came out. I remember hearing multiple times a day. I was in sixth grade when it came out. She was always an Christian artist. Just a couple of her songs crossed over into the mainstream media. She made two albums and the walked away from the music industry after her second album because she felt overwhelmed with her popularity. She worked as a waitress for awhile. She is married now and has a son. And she wasn't a one hit wonder. She had at least 3 hits. "Don't Look at Me" from her first album, "Stuck", and " There's Got To Be More to Life".
She was a two hit wonder in mainstream but she also had two other singles from this album "I Promise" and "I Could Be The One" and also some Christian hits like "Don't Look At Me" and "Genuine". She had the potential to be an artist like Alicia Keys but she's not interested in music business anymore.
I used to love stacie orrico!! Her song “strong enough” will bring you to tears! She had 2 mainstream albums, but she was labeled as a Christian pop singer, and she didn’t like the lime light so she faded away 😢😢😢
She also had a couple other hits over here in uk her biggest being stuck. Theres also i promise, i could be the one and im not missing you. But stuck and this song by far her biggest and more known ones.
This was her mainstream coming out song along with another song called *Stuck which I highly recommend, it's more that she's more well known in the Christian community nowadays, this is one of only two mainstream hits she ever had, the other one being mentioned above before. She had one mainstream album.
this song was about the price of fame that celebrities have ( i listened to it back in 2003 , i was a junior in high school and about to transfer hgh schools bcoz of matriculation ( while everybody was listening to rap i was listening to stuff like this and vanesa carlton )
I love this song so much. I also suggest stuck which was her other hit but also recommend listening to security, strong enough,I promise,I could be the one, maybe I won’t look back,so simple,I’m not missing you,Take me away and beautiful awakening.
OR E CO - Is how it;s pronounced, My brothers girlfriend at the time Stephanie Is a huge christian music fan/ she gave me the Genuine cd and said I'd really like her :Wikipedia: Main article: Genuine (Stacie Orrico album) Orrico got her start in 1998, at the age of 12, by attending a Christian music festival, Praise in the Rockies, held in her then-home state of Colorado. Orrico inadvertently entered a high-stakes talent competition, and won. A ForeFront Records executive was on hand and approached her for a record deal. She later signed with them. In 2001, she toured with Destiny's Child on their US tour.
Stacie was the IT girl in Christian/Gospel music. Her success is what got her signed to a major mainstream label with STUCK & M2L being her major hits in the US. Unfortunately, marketing & label mishandling was her down fall. Too Christian for mainstream, & too mainstream for gospel. So, she left the industry as a whole. Basically, she walked so Tori Kelly could run.
She left the music business when she was 18 and started working as a waitress. She is married now to an actor and she has a son. She said in 2013 that she might return with a new album. Last I heard she lives in Denver.
She was massive. She had sold out world tours just from her first album which came out even before the album this was on. Stacie was huge. She STARTED doing gospel music. Then this album was mainstream. And her next was mainstream. I think I actually have covers I’ve done of Stacie’s on my channel lol. They’re hella old
Next one from her is stuck on you was very known back in the Day , few artist like Joss Stone -you had me and lemar - ain't no justice in world came out in the same Era as this but didn't had a big impact in america i think
She was the first concert I ever saw her with plus one and Rachel lampa. Wonder what happened to any of them . I don’t listen to Christian music anymore
Stacie is a Christian artist and her label at the time tried to change her whole image i.e. the usual trying to get sexy to sell. However, Stacie stuck to her morals and said peace out. She has a few exceptional songs and I think she still sings gospel music. Most of her songs come from her faith based perspective. She’s so talented.
No she was a 2-hit wonder & she was a Christian Artist, but decided to try Mainstream Pop for a while, but it didn't work out; because her lyrics weren't sexual enough; think about all the female artists who were debuting at the time(Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, PINK, etc; & what their song lyrics were pushing & how they were dressing. They were pushing PG-13 & Stacie Orrico was just trying to stay Y7 to G). Her music came out between 1998-2001.Her first single is called"STUCK".
Can you react to songs from the newsboys movie when you get time I really loved the movie it was a good musical with Christian bale annmarget Robert Duvall bill Pullman.
She wasn’t a one hit wonder. She had many singles and then quit bc they were trying to make her do things she didn’t believe in. She’s awesome!!!
I would argue that she was a 2 hit wonder, she also had a song called "Stuck on you," loved it, love her and her voice!
DEFINITELY a 2 hit wonder lol. Stuck on You was a bop!
Took the words out of my mouth! Yessss
It was called Stuck. And no, her first album she recorded when she was 12 sent her on sold out world tours.
how bout I’m not missing you?
She was actually big in the Christian music, I used to listen her on Christian radio
I had a hemorrhagic stroke in 2018, and was put in a medically induced coma, and this was the first song I thought about when I woke up
Lmao thank god you’re alive but that’s kinda funny😂
@@allexa599 🤣
'Stuck' and 'I promise' another 2 of her songs that had some radio success. She was most definitely talented, but completely underrated.
This was a HUGE hit. Love this song!
Kind of a sad fact about the music biz: in the 90's and into the early 2000's, there was such a massive influx of talented singers that far too many were overlooked or simply faded away.
Sad
She left the industry lol. She didn't want to sell herself. 👑
There’s gotta be more to life, Stuck, I promise, I could be the One and my all time favorite Instead. Her self titled album had like 5 or 6 good hits.
Now it’s the complete opposite 😭 can’t hardly find any talent on the radio anymore
Oh my gosh I haven't heard this since I was like 12! She's a Christian music singer and she had quite a few hits back in the day.
For another great, underrated early 2000s one hit wonder, check out “Gotta Tell You” by Samantha Mumba. Her voice is so unique!
Yesss
That is my jam
This song is, was and always will be my jam!
I completely forgot about this song! This was everywhere when it came out.
this song and "Stuck" used to play a lot on MTV Brazil. I miss the early 00'.
I like her songs: hesitation, bounce back, genuine, security, I could be the one, tight, so simple, instead, that's what loves about
ALL OF THOSE SONGS
Stacie Orrico - Don't Look At Me

I loved this song when it came out. I remember hearing multiple times a day. I was in sixth grade when it came out. She was always an Christian artist. I remember that this song was in the movie Robots and I enjoy it.
Billy, she was big in the Christian music scene in the 90s, I used to listen to her music on Christian radio in the late 90s
I first heard the chorus of this song in Robots when Fender goes into his sister's room and she's polishing her face xxx
She was a two hit wonder in mainstream but she also had two other singles from this album "I Promise" and "I Could Be The One" and also some Christian hits like "Don't Look At Me" and "Genuine". She had the potential to be an artist like Alicia Keys but she's not interested in music business anymore.

Love this song
I feel like her song Stuck was the more popular of her 2 biggest hits, but I also remember all the lyrics to this one.
She also had a couple other hits over here in uk her biggest being stuck. Theres also i promise, i could be the one and im not missing you. But stuck and this song by far her biggest and more known ones.
Technically two hits... she had one other song I remember hearing all over the place, it's call Stuck.
She was a Christian music artist and was big in the 90s
@jennifer Mitchell Listen to take me away from you then
This was her mainstream coming out song along with another song called *Stuck which I highly recommend, it's more that she's more well known in the Christian community nowadays, this is one of only two mainstream hits she ever had, the other one being mentioned above before. I love this song so much. I also suggest stuck which was her other hit but also recommend listening to security, strong enough,I promise,I could be the one, maybe I won’t look back,so simple,I’m not missing you,Take me away and beautiful awakening.

she was like Christian music's BRITNEY... BUT SHE CAN SING!!!
Same. I had all but completely forgot about her

She had like 2 good songs lol but this brought back memories 😍🤗
She had 2-3 songs which were quite popular in Europe ... but I wonder where she is now. This is quite nostalgic.
She left the music business when she was 18 and started working as a waitress. She is married now to an actor and she has a son. She said in 2013 that she might return with a new album. Last I heard she lives in Denver.
@@ashleydowney1222 she left very soon then... too bad ...she was great. But if she is happy with what she is doing now that is all what matters.
BILLLLYYYYY. When you react to the throwback, it makes my heart happy. And today's been a bad anxiety day so thank you.
Please react to her songs Stuck On You and I'm Not Missing You

This song also had a quick spot in the movie Robots. It was super funny.
this is my childhood!
Oh my gosh flashback
My favourite song of hers is "Strong Enough"
Wow! Haven't heard this one in a long time. Thanks for reacting. I saw this on MTV and heard it on the radio. She sounds a lot like Britney.
Two totally different sounds in my opinion. She sounds closer to Christina Aguilera
@@marklouis1890 Oh, I do hear that too.
TRL years
Yup TRL was life back then lol
People talking about this and Stuck like "I'm not missing you" doesn't exists
React to Daughtry there and back again regular version and acoustic version
Actually Bounce back is a good song by her
she sing strong enough as well, which was pretty popular,an then theres Stuck,so she had at least three, which Billy you should react to hehe
The only song I know of hers is "Stuck On You" which you should definitely listen to next.
Very nice. I’d like to recommend Tension Original Mix by Tygre and Subcorv. It’s a nice slice of edm pop.
Mainstream didn’t see the potential!! Beautiful awakening is a masterpiece!!! Listen to that album
Next one from her is stuck on you was very known back in the Day , few artist like Joss Stone -you had me and lemar - ain't no justice in world came out in the same Era as this but didn't had a big impact in america i think

Shes always been a christian artist!!
Think she was more popular back in Canada
KING OF WISHFUL THINKING BY GO WEST!!!

I have a question, what do i have to do to get you to watch something that's potentially a little longer?
Mostly on Christian radio....she had a couple crossover top 40 songs
This song took me back to middle school. Probably my anti-capitalist origin story lmao
Can you react to songs from the newsboys movie when you get time I really loved the movie it was a good musical with Christian bale annmarget Robert Duvall bill Pullman.
