rear steer does help in tight turn compare to non rear steer rig. usually the one that doesnt use rear steer will able to independent lock their back tires. For example, if they want to do a U turn to the left so they will lock the back left tire independently for tighter turn.

I've never seen one of these rigs with rear steer and doesn't seem to be helping.....
